I loved it when Spidey had to ditch his black costume (it was a space alien!) and go back home from the Baxter Building in a makeshift disguise. (They even made an action figure of this!) Attachment Deleted

Its also an alternate costume in a quite a few of the Spiderman video games. I first saw it was back before I was versed comics on the N64 Spiderman games, though I didn't know it's origin. I think it was called the Amazing Bagman costume. That was the games that when you preview each costume Stan Lee would tell you about it. I think the PS1 version was the same way too.

That's one of the funniest moments in Marvel history. I knew of the even for years, even before reading it, and for some reason I always thought it happened much further back in Spidey's history.

Well, there's a segment from the late 1960s where Peter Parker has to wash the Spidey uniform in a Laundromat, and in order to protect his identity, he wears a paper bag over his head. I don't remember which issue exactly, but I think it's Jim Mooney art.

I liked the paper bag, but as far as Spidey goes my favorite embarrassing moment is when he was stuck in Germany without his uniform and had to rent one from a costume shop. Only that one had "Die Spinne" written on the back! Ooooh, the indignity!

And then there's the time Pete needed some extra cash for Aunt May's medicine so he took the job at the local cinmea promoting the new sci-fi blockbuster.... -M

Echoes of ASM #115 where Spider-Man had to steal a mask from a costume shop to replace one snatched off his head by Doc Ock, resulting in this look:
