#48 The Sub-Mariner Imperious Rex!! I always preferred him in this costume. Even though he's an aquatic character, I always thought running around in just trunks looked a bit silly.

A guy dressed all in yellow who calls himself 'The Whizzer'! And in his golden age costume he wore a chicken on his head! The jokes just write themselves, don't they? I don't understand. Why is his costume being yellow significant? A yellow chicken? The yellow is significant because 'to whiz' is a slang term meaning 'to urinate'. Wearing a chicken on your head is just stupid.

Wearing a chicken on your head is just stupid. Ah. An American slang term, I assume. In the UK, to whizz just means to move fast. There's still a very long established comics character called Billy Whizz who has super speed. I think it was actually meant to be an eagle or something, rather than a chicken.

#46 QuicksilverAlter Ego - Pietro Maximoff First AppearanceThe X-Men #4 (March 1964) Silver Age of Comics Costume Features that I like the mostGreat use of both Light Blue and White, sleek, streamlined and nicely drawn. I just loved the way they drew his hair here. Good job on the lighting trim in white. I also like the white gloves too. Additional Pictures of QuicksilverThere is a green version and I just hate this one too!

#45 FalconAlter Ego - Samuel Thomas "Sam" Wilson First AppearanceCaptain America #117 (September 1969) Silver Age of Comics Costume Features that I like the mostNote: Cool Yellow Trim on the boot and mask. I find this rather odd and unique! Nicely drawn, and a classic look of the Falcon, one of the better costumes in Red and White here and I like the overall aspect of the design and most importantly - I loved the white gloves and red wings. Four Pictures of the FalconHas great partnership with Captain America!

I can't believe that over all the years, I don't think I ever noticed the fringe at the Falcon's ankles! I thought the white part on the calves was part of his boots, but I guess it's just a white section of his tight pants with fringed cuffs. Weird...

I preferred the original Falcon costume... ...Though the later one was admittedly better than this 1990s one!

I preferred the original Falcon costume... ...Though the later one was admittedly better than this 1990s one! I never, ever seen this picture before and I was stunned by it ... I still prefer the white/red look but this look is not to bad either. I would had bumped out #49 Miss America and #50 Whizzer - I would ranked him at #49 and moved Miss America at #50. Whizzer would be eliminated from my list.

Change of Order New #49 Original FalconNote to Members and Guests: Number 50 The Whizzer is no longer on this list and Miss America at #49 moved to #50. Alter Ego - Samuel Thomas "Sam" Wilson First AppearanceCaptain America #117 (September 1969) Silver Age of Comics Costume Features that I like the mostVery Stylish Belt and I kinda like the green outfit here - that has a nice touch of orange trim to make it stand out nicely. I also like the orange trim in his mask and having said all this - I just wanted to thank tingramretro for pointing it out and I do vaguely remembered this outfit back then and should had include this one and the red/white one on my list! Great Pictures of the Original FalconClose Up from the Cover Photo above you! With Captain America in the Background, his friend from the get go!

#50 Miss AmericaAlter Ego - Madeline Joyce First AppearanceMarvel Mystery Comics #49 (Nov. 1943) Golden Age of Comics Costume Features that I like the mostBlue Cape and Belt, pretty generic costume - but it's stylish, has class and definitely better than my Number 50, the Whizzer! I do like the top that's flare liked a skirt at the end of it. This probably be the first and last change to my order of 50 of the greatest Marvel Costumes from Golden Age of Comics to Bronze Age of Comics.

They recycled the original Falcon look for the Ladyhawk sisters in Marvel's near future M2 universe. She was a supporting character in Spider-Girl.

Whizzer and Miss America are excellent costumes. Namor's on my short list for worst costumes, actually. I like the black costume that he had to wear for a while in the 70's. A bit more regal looking. A monarch wearing green swimming trunks? Invisible Girl/Woman? Meh.
