#44 Ant-ManAlter Ego - Hank Pym First AppearanceTales to Astonish #27 (January 1962) Silver Age of Comics Costume Features that I like the mostSilver Helmet, Different Hues of Blue for the Boots and Gloves, and the unique design of his uniform makes it practical for fighting crime. His Silver Helmet - that could control ants, Pym would shrink down to the size of an insect to become the mystery-solving Ant-Man. He soon shared his discovery with his girlfriend Janet van Dyne, his crime-fighting partner as the Wasp. I just like the whole package. Fascinating Character! Four Great Pictures of Ant-Man

I'm a little late to this thread, but planning to make up for lost time... My 1st Marvel Comics Book that I've ever brought and I got it from the Second-Hand Bins for a Dime long time ago and still have it! LOL...that's one hell of a first Marvel comic book to own! The giant, whip wielding, leather-clad, she-Nazi dominatrix on the front cover must've caught your eye, I guess. Really looking forward to this-I'm a lifelong Marvelite (yes, i still use that word) and particularly love a lot of Marvel character designs from the 70s and early 80s. Though I guarantee my personal number 1 will not be on Mecha's list: Alan Davis's redesigned Captain Britain costume from 1981, an absolute classic. #43 Captain Britain One man's meat and all that...but I've always loathed that Captain Britain costume. I thought it looked rubbish in the '80s and I still think it looks rubbish. It used to especially annoy me because, as far as I knew at the time, Cap Britain was the only British superhero Marvel had (I was unaware of the likes of Union Jack at the time for some reason). I used to think, "why does our superhero get such a crappy costume, when all the American heroes look so cool." Suffice it to say that I much, much, MUCH prefer the original Captain Britain costume. That's a costume that a Brit hero could be proud of being seen in, unlike that white and blue...monstrosity! #45 Falcon I've never been that big a fan of the Whizzer, Sub-Mariner or Quicksilver's costumes, to be honest, but the Falcon's classic Bronze Age get-up? Hell yes, now that's a great costume, right there. One of Marvel's best, in my opinion. Striking, memorable, and very, very cool looking. 'Nuff said! I preferred the original Falcon costume... While I found that really boring and utterly forgettable. ...Though the later one was admittedly better than this 1990s one! Yuck! Yes, that was a disaster.

#44 Ant-Man I read somewhere that the black design on Ant-Man's costume was meant to represent the head of an ant, with the antennae encircling his neck.
It's one of those things that, if you've never seen it, can't be unseen. It sounds like a very Kirby idea, but I'm not sure that it's entirely his.

#48 The Sub-MarinerAlter Ego - Namor McKenzie First AppearanceMotion Picture Funnies Weekly (April 1939) Marvel Comics #1 (Oct. 1939) Golden Age of Comics Costume Features that I like the mostGold Belt, Green Trunks, and Winged Feet - And a fancy staff too! ... It's doesn't leave much imagination but I'm sorry that I placed him at Number 48 and having seen only hundred and possibly a hundred and fifty costumes in my time with Marvel Comics I have a fondness of his time with the Invaders and I like his early rivalry with the Human Torch - he has to be on this list. Special Note: Very Distinctive Hair-Style - Very Regal ... and his eyebrows too! I can tell you loved the Invaders , but Namor as best costume? It's only a pair of green trunks.

It's only a pair of green trunks. True, but those trunks are far from empty!
Do you know what it takes to fill the trunks of the mighty Sub-Mariner?

Icc, during the time that I read both DC and Marvel - I spent about 65 percent on DC and the remaining 35 on Marvel and only like what I saw and I was a big fan of the Invaders. BTW, Sub Mariner is 48 out of 50 ... and there are 47 better costumes than his. I was factoring on his hair style, eyebrows, and his regal appearance too.

This is your top 50, not icctrombones. I enjoyed the Invaders ( have the entire series) but the artwork was subpar.

Pym is one of my favorite characters in all of comics. I hated when he was savaged by Jim Shooter , but it was a good story.
