It does, but it is also extremly instructing and relevant in regard with the world's state of current affairs.

Those two books are high on my want list, along with the Dell bios of Goldwater and Stevenson (I have the LBJ issue) and the Truman comic from 1948.

I heard of Brought to Light but have never read it. Not sure how I missed it at the time - I was reading everything I could find by Alan Moore back then.

I read that some LCS in the US refused to carry it due to its political nature, maybe you lived in area subjected to this? The thing is the comic is much more factual than anyting else, so it shouldn't have been a problem (I know I know, you have creationists over there...).

Those 'Cap for President' issues are great... it's a shame Stern-Byrne didn't have a longer run.
I picture people who say 'comics shouldn't be political' are the same ones that think comics are for kids and that cartoons are always appropriate for all ages. My mother-in-law still calls them 'funny books' and will put Family Guy or American Dad on the TV for my 7 year old if we don't stop her.

How many different writers did actually use cap in a presidential election situation? I recall at least 3 different ones from three different periods (Stern, Waid, Morales).

Remember when DC tried to tell us Lois Lane was a conservative Libertarian? Because screw every story with her you've ever read...

I have trouble imagining most Tea Party types enjoying comics in the first place. All the social justice and liberal views...even Archie Comics have a gay character now... Mainstream comics worrying about them seems like TV writers worrying how the Amish will react to their show. If I recall correctly, one of our forum regulars candidly admitted to being a Tea Party supporter. I wonder what they read...

Nope. Any forums getting political makes me shudder too. Even getting this far makes me want to have a shower.
