So I see Mon-El gets a real costume when Supergirl returns next week:

Supergirl is back after a long hiatus with a great episode! Loved the interactions between J'Onn & his dad. Loved the focus on Winn.

I dislike these long 'in-season' breaks. I hope enough people remembered it was back on.

I enjoyed the episode too--and the story for Winn. I find him way more interesting than Alex and Jimmy. Wish they would give him more to do as in this episode. Good scenes with J'onn and his father, very sad. Loved the scene where Supergirl was trapped like an action figure. Lots of fun moments in the episode.

I thought last night's episode was one of the better ones this season. Enjoyed seeing Lena trying to help whatever her name is that turns into Reign. And glad that lady now knows why she blacks out. I felt terrible for J'onn and his dad--very relatable, especially to those of us with aging parents. I thought the whole thing with Supergirl's cape fighting was kind of silly, but it is a comic book show, so why not. Mon-El looks great in his costume and was happy to see him looking more like he does in the comics.

I think Mon-El in the Supergirl's show needs to shave off his beard -- that's my only rant about his appearance and I think they did a great job on his costume as well. I'm thinking of watching it again ...

The J'Onn story line was very relatable for me. It is so hard seeing your parent's health start to fail. And I also thought the cape fighting was stupid. It felt like an excuse for the special effects team to try out a new "toy". I LOVED seeing Mon-El in costume.

@mechagodzilla, I would prefer Mon-El be clean shaven too.

So this week was a mixed bag for me. I liked seeing Jimmy & Winn's friendship. I liked the Legion stuff. Still not liking the Reign & Pestilence story line.

So much of this season felt like filler to me. Like last night's episode. I feel like they had enough story for 16 episodes that they stretched to fit a 23 episode season.

Looks like next year I will be watching The Flash only for the CW DCU shows. I stopped Arrow a few years ago. I wasn't thrilled with Black Lightning. And Supergirl has been so mediocre this season. The Flash has been the only consistently good show this year.

They were way overdue to advance the Sam/Reign/Lena/James storylines. I'm enjoying it more than than the plodding, endless 'DeVoe is an asshole, and he kills everybody, and he's an asshole' story arc on 'The Flash'.

Supergirl is rinse and repeat--every season. There will be some "big" arc that ultimately has no lasting impact on the show, plus a handful of "B" plots designed to string viewers along for more weeks. At this point, the show is all about Supergirl constant pining away for Mon-el--the most telegraphed pairing on TV. Nevermind the chemistry between the characters feels so forced and manufactured, unlike Supergirl's now dumped and burned chemistry with James Olsen.
