Whoa, can't believe there isn't a thread on this already.
I know I can't be the only fan on this board. Really love the show and the comic is basically the only ongoing series that I make sure to read every month.
What are you guys thinking of Season 6 so far and the series in general?

Eh...I watched the first 2 seasons of the show but I gave up on it after that. Didn't really care about any of the characters...they are complete counterparts from the ones that I love in the book. To me the ones on the show come across as shallow, arrogant and and totally unlikable. I LOVE the book though. Look forward to it every month.

I read the first omnibus (collecting the first 8 trades) and thought it was a fair to middling comic with great art by Charlie Adlard, but didn't feel compelled to check out the second omnibus. I watched an episode of the show early on and felt the comic was better than the show, so didn't continue to watch.
To be fair, I burned out on the zombie genre doing a work for hire rpg product in '05-'06, so it takes something I feel is really special in the genre to pique my interest in it now, and I don't think the show is really special, good, solid in the genre entertainment possibly, but not good enough to overcome my ennui over the genre.

Now they're in Alexandria and I can only hope that Negan is introduced soon.

Not seeing anything that borders on a major spoiler here...

There's always spoiler tags you could use if you think it might be too much of a spoiler. [ spoiler ] insert spoiler [ /spoiler ] without the space between words and brackets. It looks like this -M

I casualy follow it, and so far, each season had a few episodes that raised hope in its quality before crushing it to the ground. That being said, after 3 episodes, I feel that the new and current season might be the strongest by far.

Big fan of the TV series. Have never read the comic book. Only season I found boring was the second one.

Like the show. like the comics. Unlikely I'd ever had tried the comics were it not for the TV show. And I doubt I'd enjoy the comic if the show hadn't been so good. horror isn't really much my thing nor is b+w comics. The show sucked me in by being so well done and compelling. It gave personalities and voices to the characters allowing the comics to suck me in as well. Especially with the little changes and differences existing between the two. At this point though I feel both the comic and show are starting to repeat themselves and spin their wheels. I'm still surprised by people's complaints of the second season. sure it wasn't packed with action, excitement and zombies / violence, but it was excellent. The third and following seasons had more action but became more inconsistent in characterization, storytelling and overall quality in my opinion. Time for some big shakeups I think or perhaps time to wrap them up? The show and comic are still far better than the fear spinoff show.

All in all, even if I enjoy following the show, it's pretty terrible on so many aspects. Rick is so over the top all the time, ninja Carol also is a hard one to swallow, many many very bad acting performances throughout, and really stupid psychology most of the time. Yet, the FX and malke-ups are splendid. And this season has yet to disappoint supense-wise. TWD, the show I love despite its abyssimal characterization.
