But that doesn't mean that there has to be 2 women on the cover...Jez never specified which definition of babe she meant...
babe (bāb) n. 1. A baby; an infant. 2. An innocent or naive person. 3. Slang A young woman, especially one considered sexually attractive. 4. Informal Sweetheart; dear. Used as a term of endearment.
So a beautiful young woman and a naive person qualifies as 2 babes, 2 sweethearts is 2 babes, 2 infants is 2 babes, etc.
so for instance the Airboy cover I posted has Valkyrie-a young woman and Davy Nelson III an naive young man who is learning about the realities of politics in the 1980s in Dixon's series. So 2 babes but only 1 woman. A cover with Archie and Betty only has 2 sweethearts, so 2 babes, etc. If you disqualify a cover because you only see one woman and think it doesn't fit the criteria, you are thinking way too narrowly.
But if that's the way you want to vote, then so be it. But again, the guidelimes point out that if you don't think a cover doesn't qualify, don't make a stink over it, just don't vote for it. The only time I point out a cover not qualifying is if it doesn't fit in the 10 year rule, and that is often an oversight on part of the OP. It's an objective fact of the cover qualification based on cover date, not a subjective evaluation of the content of the cover. If someone wants to enter a cover that doesn't seem to qualify based on your interpretation, well if they enjoy it, so be it, they might have a different interpretation of the criteria. It may be right, it may be wrong, but it's their entry. Vote for it or don't. Kvetching about it just sucks the fun out of a light-hearted contest meant to spotlight cool covers people like.

I can only determine what I will vote for by the information that the actual cover gives me I don't know who's a sweetheart or naive. Everything is open to interpretation. But discussion is part of being on a forum. I never called out any specific cover as not eligible. I have a way of voting that works for me.

Had to delete my other submission because I realized it was later than 2005. Here is a new one with more than 1 babe on the cover...

Maybe it's time for an egg nog with an extra little bit of sumthin' good. As Sgt. Hulka said, "Lighten up, Francis."

I agree with Scott and mrp. Just quietly dismiss those covers you don't favour, whether because they be rule breakers or because they don't impress you for other reasons. I may only have but one babe, or maybe the young men are also babes. Depends on your perspective. If I only have one in your eyes and I am violation of the rules, and this offends your propriety then I would say don't vote for me. It's all good. I just wanted to share a fun cover. This contest is all great fun seeing the thoughtful choices people make, be they time proven classics or unorthodox selections.

I like it when others point out that certain covers do not meet the required criteria. I first posted a picture with only 1 babe & didn't realize it had to be 2 or more because I didn't read the rules correctly...then my second cover I posted was after 2005, which I realized on my own, so deleted that one too. Yeah, it's all in fun, but as long as people are not rude I don't think making comments regarding rules correctness is a problem.

Another great theme! Only one babe here, but more than that would probably be breaking a law. And I do mean babe... Oh Charlton, is it a sin to exploit your own exploitation for the sake of comic cover contest? I love how the guy on the left's chest hair is creeping over his arms, like ants marching!

Yes, it's all fun, but part of the fun was actually noticing the little trap or finding a way around it. I tend to favor the entries that achieve so, especially because it's a little added fun, like a game.
