There must be more Thor covers like this, right? Yes, yes there are...

July, 1978 January, 1976 You'd think Buckler would've cribbed from a better cover. And why is Commissioner Gordon in a lab coat claiming he's a scientist? And, hey, you with the big hand, watch where you put that pinkie!

Ever seen a cover like this anywhere else??? On the only issue of this title, a one-of-a-kind cover!

Ever seen a cover like this anywhere else??? On the only issue of this title, a one-of-a-kind cover! Are you referring to the dozens of times Kubert used covers like that?

You mean Kubert stole that idea from Thorne?

I just read this book last night, looking for my next Atlas Seaboard to write about on my blog - about the same time as you were posting. Frank Thorne doing his best to look like Joe Kubert

I dunno.. I don't count these "characters interacting in similar ways" conceptual swipes as "swipes." The camera angle is different! And we have two really strong, clever layouts... and also Giant-Man. Sorry TTA! (Is that Kirby? Kirby is generally a little more... what's the word... not-awful. I can't read the signature box. Dick Ayers is also better than this, 99 times outta hundred.)

Nick Cardy's framing here from 1972 looks rather familiar.
