I would like to think the cover of Strange Adventures #13 (October, 1951) by Gil Kane was paid tribute for the cover of Star Trek #21 (November, 1973) by George Wilson.

Apologies if these have already been posted (thanks to robot1a for making me aware of this first cover): Wings Comics no. 94 (1948) Captain Science no. 3 (1950)

Not sure if someone covered this, but here we go... Action Comics' "desk smash" homage covers: Action Comics #237 (February, 1958) by Curt Swan. Action Comics #264 (May, 1960) by Curt Swan. Action Comics #284 (January, 1962) by Curt Swan with Stan Kaye inks. Action Comics #302 (July, 1963) by Curt Swan with Sheldon Moldoff inks. Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #128 (April, 1970) by Curt Swan. I know this one is not usually considered part of the AC "desk smash" series, but I think it borders on Honorable Mention status.

I can only imagine what the guy who has to come in and fix these desks must think of The Daily Planet. "Someone punched your desk to pieces AGAIN?! I was just there!"

Here's one from Moebius. What's french for Swipe? Swipeur? I guess "homage" is already a French word.

Sometimes the homage is better than the original.

There must be more Thor covers like this, right?

We may have done this style cover already, but not sure this one from All American Men of War had come up. I'm pretty sure the SSWS cover has shown up here, but figured I'd put it up for comparison's sake.. It also leads nicely to OAAW 203, which is a variation on the two categories on that SSWS cover: the spotlighted character, and the "Wanted poster in the background."
