Over the last couple of days, I've been watching Firefly, and really enjoying it. I've actually had the series on DVD for several years and finally now got around to watching it. I had actually watched the Serenity film when that came out on DVD, without really understanding what was going on it.
Anyone else been late to the party?

Doctor Who. I didn't pick up watching it until the final Matt Smith year, outside of a few episodes from the original series (not sure which Doctor) that I watched at random on PBS when I was a kid. I've since gone back and watched the entire David Tennant run as well as keeping up with the Peter Capaldi run, but I kick myself every day for not getting into it sooner.

Flight of the Conchords
One of the funniest shows I've seen. Would put it up there with Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, etc.

For comics, the biggest one is Legion of Super-Heroes. When I first started collecting comics, I got one issue of the Tales of the Legion of Super-Heroes around 1985 or 1986. It wasn't until around 2003 during the Abnett & Lanning era) that I bought another Legion comic. Then, I went a little crazy, amassing a huge Legion collection, much of which I still haven't read yet.
For television, there are a few. I only watched the Battlestar Galactica revival a couple of years ago (years after it ended). I started watching Breaking Bad during the gap in the middle of the final season (which were so far apart, it was really two short seasons). Thanks to Netflix binge-viewing, I almost got caught up. I was a few episodes behind when the series finale aired. I just watched the first three episodes of The Americans this week.
Doctor Who is something I rediscovered late. I watched episodes of the original Doctor Who series as a kid in the 1980s. However, I only started watching new Who during Peter Capaldi's first season.

I actually only started watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer late in its seventh (final) season. I was so disappointed when the show ended! But the next year, they aired re-runs of the first season onward on Dutch tv late at night-- as in 1:00 AM thereabouts. I watched the first four seasons that way, and it really added to the atmosphere of the darker scenes of the show. It's become one of my all-time favs.

Twin Peaks I binged watched the series this weekend and that finale blew my mind. I can only imagine how people reacted to that cliffhanger 20 years ago without any sign of proper resolution.

Well let's see, there were a whole bunch of shows I discovered in syndication as a kid in the 70s that I never saw when they aired in prime time-everything form classic Star Trek to the Adam West Batman, Gilligan's Island to the Saint, Wild, Wild West to the Adventures of Superman. Same with a lot of cartoons-Flintstones and Jetsons come to mind, that sired before my time and were only caught in syndication much later. Or Dr. Who on PBS in the states in the 80s when we got the Tom Baker, Jon Pertwee and Peter Davison stuff years after it aired in the UK
Somewhat more recently, didn't watch Babylon 5 until it started airing on SyFy (then Sc-Fi) not when it was being aired on TNT or whatever Turner network carried it originally. Jeremiah-I didn't have Showtime so didn't see it when it aired, but a friend lent me the whole first season on VHS about a ear or so after it aired.

This is my favorite TV show of all time. Have you seen the prequel movie? It's nowhere near as good as the TV show but I think it should be viewed at least once if you like the show.

I'm planning on watching it sometime this week hopefully. I've heard we don't really get a proper resolution on Dale Cooper's fate at the end though.

Just ALOT more questions than you had before you even saw the movie. It was frustrating when it was originally released and it's frustrating now. Originally it was a 4 hour movie that had to be drastically cut down. There is a Blu Ray set out containing the entire series and the movie and a TON of extras. There is one extra where there is a whole 1hr and a half of deleted footage from the movie. It's well worth a look. Beware of some audio sync issues that I don't know were ever fixed. Still i bought it.

I plan on getting to trying firefly one day. I've just recently seen breaking bad and sons of anarchy. For comics I only read y the last man last year. I never read watchmen until a few years ago when the movie came out. I own league of extraordinary gentleman and still haven't read it, but plan to eventually.
