Nova (Frankie Raye) - Supporting Character to Johnny Storm / Fantastic Four I'm finally catching up with this thread and I see that no one has mentioned the fact that the character Frankie Raye was named after a pseudonym that was used in the mid-60s by inker Frank Giacoia - "Frankie Ray". I think Frank may have been Marvel's art director at the time the character was introduced. Here's a list of the stories credited to "Frankie Ray", from the GCD. They're all Marvel, from 1965-66: Inks: Frank Giacoia [as Frankie Ray] The Terrible Trio! Human Torch; Thing / comic story / 12 pages US Strange Tales (1951 series) #129 February 1965 Marvel Inks: Frank Giacoia [as Frankie Ray] The Vengeance of the Thunder God Thor / comic story / 16 pages US Journey into Mystery (1952 series) #115 April 1965 Marvel Inks: Frank Giacoia [as Frankie Ray] The Menace of Madam Macabre Giant-Man / comic story / 12 pages US Tales to Astonish (1959 series) #66 April 1965 Marvel Inks: Frank Giacoia [as Frankie Ray] If This Be Justice...! Daredevil / comic story / 20 pages US Daredevil (1964 series) #14 March 1966 Marvel Inks: Frank Giacoia [as Frankie Ray] Four Against the Floodtide The Avengers / comic story / 20 pages US The Avengers (1963 series) #27 April 1966 Marvel Inks: Frank Giacoia [as Frankie Ray] --And Men Shall Call Him...Ox ! Loki - Supporting Character for The Mighty Thor and Venus (Historical Footnote)First Appearance: (Historical Footnote) Venus #6 Couple of pictures - for the Historical Footnote of Loki shown here and the Cover of Venus of which he first appeared. He was God of Evil and that's I've wanted to share here. First Appearance: Journey into Mystery No. 85 One of the greatest villains in the realms of the Mighty Thor and one of craftiest and most diabolical of all times. A master deceiver that tricks his foes alike and makes them pay a heavy price for their mistakes. His mischievousness eventually became malice as his hunger for power and revenge grew stronger. Several times he tried to use tricks to get rid of Thor, like telling him to guard a hole in the wall he had made. In time, his reputation grew from being a playful and mischievous trickster to the "God of Evil". Over the centuries, Loki attempted on many occasions to seize the throne of Asgard and to destroy Thor. He was the perfect Villain to lure the Avengers in the Classic first adventure of the Avengers in Avenger #1 There is no need for me to explain the story and I'm pretty sure that all of you here read it by now. I read that story a thousand of times and never, ever, cease to me that he was a master of deceiving and pure mischief. It took the combined forces of Mighty Thor, Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, The Wasp, and Ant-Man to stop him and I was impressed by his ability to focus on the task of hand in this classic adventure!

My Favorite Detective Comics Novel - Detective 235It was an adventure that taps into the minds of Bruce Wayne and this story outlined that not Bruce Wayne - but Thomas Wayne was the first Bat-Man and this story really was designed to delight many fans of Batman and I was one of them and I have to say this - I was a big fan of that mask that Thomas Wayne worn in this adventure and I'm going to share 5 pictures that illustrates the story and ultimately Bruce Wayne shocked Joe Chill in one of the most talked about origin stories of Batman. Sit back and enjoy the five pictures shown here! My favorite picture is the one on the bottom of the three pictures shown here! ... I just loved that mask! The 4th panel the bottom right hand corner - I just loved Bruce's reaction's here and this is one of many panels that I remembered the most about Detective 235. Meeting Joe Chill for the final time!

Mary Jane Watson - Supporting Character for Peter Parker and Spider-ManNote to All: I really prefer that Stacey Gwen to be Peter Parker's primary love life interest not Mary Jane because I really didn't care for her in the 1st place. I have mixed feelings about her and having said that; Mary Jane Watson to me more a footnote in Marvel Universe History and that's not the right way to treat her because eventually became Peter's wife and that's where I have great deal of frustrations with this particular character. Partial Appearance in Amazing Spider-Man #25 Full Appearance in Amazing Spider-Man #42 "You Hit the Jackpot!" ... She stunned Peter Parker as she enters the room in a grand way! A very striking and very glamorous look and I consider this moment one of the most iconic moments in Spider-Man life! ... She had a very friendly rivalry with Gwen Stacy for affections and that's often adds more dilemma to Peter Parker and that alone complicates things - more ways in one! John Romita used Ann Margret as a focal point in attempt to draw her and design her face to make her very glamorous and appealing face to draw Peter Parker in her life.

Favorite Picture of Mary Jane WatsonI use this sometimes as Wallpaper for my PC. ... and I like Redheads too! Wedding of Peter Parker and Mary Jane - Everyone here knows the story and I'm going to leave as it is! She once was Insect Queen when Marvel and DC got together to create imaginary character and I was very surprised that they used her in this matter. She was a secondary character in Spider-Boy shown below! ... One of my favorite Amalgan Characters. BTW, I have all issues of Amalgan Characters when they came out in 1996. Three Spider-Man Movies starring Toby Maquire - Kristen DunstShe was excellent in her role as Mary Jane Parker and I was very pleased by her performance and I'm a fan of her from the get go. I thought she did admirable job and was born to play her.

I thought she did admirable job and was born to play her. I was talking about this with a friend just the other day. I think Dunst was an excellent choice for Mary Jane in terms of accurately portraying the character's nature, mannerisms and, well...character. But she really didn't look anything like Mary Jane from the comics, besides being a red head. That was a shame because, as I say, she played the character really well, I thought.

Maxwell Lord - Supporting Character for Justice League International, Supergirl, & Etc.First Appearance: Justice League #1 For the Record, I had a very busy day reading the first 12 or some odd issues of Justice League International starting with the issue above you and publicly say this - this is the most absurd line-up of all times; and I was stunned by the mixing of these characters altogether and saying on record that I had a hard time swallowing it up. Maxwell Lord is one of those characters that controls everything that you do and I personally thinks he one of the most difficult character to figure out because of his power to control of what he wants and that's a very scary proposition I may add here. I have a great deal of difficulty getting most of characters in this line-up here and it's included Guy Gardner the Green Lantern that I find to be the most difficult for me to digest in the ranks of the Justice League. As, I read several issues including the 1st 12 from a dear friend of mine - I was stunned by the oddness of this group and felt that Captain Marvel and Doctor Fate should not belong here. Same goes to Batman and the Martian Manhunter. Later on according to my dear friend, he even tried to control Superman and that's how arrogance he really is. The next three pictures shows how much power that he has Look at Batman in the 2nd Picture - He's unhappy and disgusted by all this and he has a duty to keep Maxwell Lord in check. The bottom picture says it all! ............................... THAT ... I ... AMPeter Facinelli - Maxwell Lord on SupergirlI haven't formed an opinion on him yet and therefore I just have nothing to say about him for right now.

The pictures of the movie versions of Loki above and Heimdall (here or in some other thread) remind me of one of the things I dislike about the Thor films: some of the Asgardian costumes and sets looked unconvincing to me: the helmets often looked lightweight and plastic, for example. But I agree that the actors did a great job in both cases, though Idris Elba wasn't given much to work with as Heimdall.

I understand your points here and thanks for mentioning the helmets and you are right about that and I've should had seen this in the first place. Good Observations here and thanks for pointing it out.

I think this may be simply a generational thing. I was a child of the 70s, so to me, MJ was by far the more significant character and Gwen the footnote, just because of when I started reading. But even having since read all tbe Silver Age stuff several times over, I still think MJ is a far more interesting character. Gwen was just so bland in comparison.

I like them both for different reasons and having said that of what you said is makes sense to me and that's why she became more prominent as time goes by. Thanks for pointing that out ...

Maxwell Lord: I am enjoying Peter Facinelli's portrayal. He's smarmy and charming all at once as Maxwell Lord.
I like the scans of the Thomas Wayne Batman story! I wish DC would reprint The Untold Legend of the Batman mini series and include older stories such as that.
