The Invaders (1970s version) Who hated the Invaders? Granted the Frank Robbins art wasn't everyone's cup of tea, but the series was great. It gave us a Nazi vampire for crying out loud! I cannot understand people who dislike Frank Robbins' art. I think the team of Robbins and Springer was perfect for that book, and Robbins drew my favourite ever version of Captain America.

I really liked The New Defenders (except for the ending); a run that is disliked by many traditional Defenders fans.

I also prefer the traditional Defenders over the New Defenders, but I have the full run of the New ones as well. So Foxley is only mildly wounded to me.

I know Silver Age Lois Lane has a few diehard supporters here, (and I would be counted among them), but are we a cult, or does that run get any love anywhere else? How can you not like this stuff?

Michael Fleisher's work on Man-Thing suffered from the inevitable comparisons to Steve Gerber's seminal run and was disliked enough that Fleisher was replaced after three issues, but I liked his take on the muck-monster and was keen to see where he was going with it. I thought it was action-packed and well-written. Go figger.

Robbins isn't my cup of tea on Batman, but I like the small glimopses of the Invaders that I've seen. In fairness to Robbins, coming in between Carmine Infantino and Neal Adams, anybody's Batman is going to get short shrift.

That looks like a pretty run-of-the-mill Lois Lane story ... which means SUPER-AWESOME! I have two or three of the issues with the Rose and Thorn back-up stories ... ALSO SUPER-AWESOME!

Robbins wrote bunches and bunches of Batman stories in the late 1960s and early 1970s, including a bunch that he didn't draw. (But I love "Man-Bat Over Vegas" Detective Comics #429, which he did draw.) Robbins wrote one of my very favorite TOP FIVE BATMAN STORIES in Detective #385: "Die Small -- Die BIG!"

I remember reading the Super sons stories when I was a kid. I wonder If they survived the years.

Hush is not enjoyed by everyone? Maybe I have to re-read it again but it was beautifully drawn IMO. Great appearances from every Batman villain and character you could ever hope for. The plot was a bit silly and underwhelming as I recall (I read it 2 years ago now) so maybe I could revisit that portion but I remember thinking it was just good comic fun! I loathed Hush because it was just another recycled Long Halloween and Dark Victory story..nothing special. And my disliking for Jim Lee's artwork makes that run even more for me to not care.

I totally missed the Jim Lee craze. The Image books and Dc comics he's drawn are very pretty to look at but I don't really see story telling skills that separate the men from the boys.

- Brian K Vaughn's run on Swamp Thing - Final Crisis - Most of the Marvel Two-In-Ones - The Thing (I know it was schmaltzy but I loved it. Especially when Ben was with the Grapplers)
