Stan Lee and Jim Shooter were visionaries when it came to selling comics. I've seen no proof that Quesada is. I've never heard of Jessica Jones until this thread. Who is she? She's the one who hires Squirrel Girl as a baby sitter

Bendis thinks so.. she was the lead character of Alias, then later The Pulse.
What I'm sure Ben was referring to is that she is one of 4 characters slated to start in a Net Flix-direct series sometime in the future.
I wouldn't call her a major character... I don't think she's appeared in anything outside her capacity as 'Luke Cage's wife' for quite some time.

She was the star in Bendis' Alias which I really liked (10 years ago?).Then it became The Pulse for a short while.Since then she's been a good mom in The Avengers. But I stopped reading the Avengers a few years ago so I don't know anything more recent

She headlined her own series and will soon headline her own TV show. Pretty major.
If you need more examples of characters that became license worthy under Quesada, there's The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy. Both existed previously, but not in any relevant capacity.
I'm not sure what any of that has to do with anything

Not everyone can be as boring as Roy Thomas Wow, I didn't expect this to be a long thread! Couple things: Roy Thomas is a national treasure. You don't have to like his writing, but to not appreciate what he's done for the comic industry is crazy... hopefully you're just going for shock value. Quesada is definitely the anti-Roy Thomas, and IMO, Marvel has suffered greatly for it. As to the appearance, I was pretty disappointed overall.. Quesada LOOKED and acted like a stereotypical comic book nerd... not good marketing at all. I know not everyone reads the comic book dirt sheets, but to use that forum to 'announce' news that was over a month old was really lame. National treasure? Ha ha ha

Ok folks, I am loathe to step in as mod here, but a few people have commented on the tone and tenor of the discourse in this thread, and they have a point.
For the moment I am going to lock this thread-Quesada made his appearance, we have all had a chance to see it and react if we wanted to, but the conversation here is not going anywhere productive right now...please feel free to continue the debate the merits of current or past regimes, but keep it focused on the content of the comics not the quality of other posers opinions. That's not really the way we do things here. Disagree all you want, that's cool but let's not make it personal.
