I used to buy a lot of cartoon comics as a kid. Alf, Scooby Doo, even Kid & Play.
Recently I read Sherlock Holmes Year One from Dynamite. Got it cheap and wasn't expecting much but figured it was worth a try. The story was decent and the art wasn't as bad as I had feared. It probably would have been better in black and white. Something about the coloring made everything seem metallic. And everybody only wore one color, head to toe. Hat matches suit matches overcoat matches shoes to the precise metallic green or purple tone.

Most of the ones I can think of have already been mentioned - Kirby's 2001 adaptation and series, Logan's Run, and the first 6-issue Star Wars.
I remember reading an issue of the Dark Shadows comic when I was a kid and thinking it was pretty good, even though I'd never seen the show, and still haven't to this day.
Doug Moench & Paul Gulacy did a Batman vs Predator mini that was memorable mainly for some excellent artwork by Gulacy.
I recently bought the Blade Runner adaptation on a recommendation from here or the old board but haven't read it yet.
A few years ago I almost bought a comic book prequel to the Al Pacino Scarface just because I liked the look of the art so much. The artist's name was Albert Dose, I think. I meant to keep an eye out for his work but haven't seen anything else from him since.

Adaptations were my introduction to comics, as a kid the first book I got on a regular basis was the Young Indiana Jones comic by Dark Horse; I loved the show and the comic let me "watch" my favorite moments again when ever I wanted. Lucas had like 20-50 more story ideas for episodes that were never used. I wish they (Marvel?) would publish those stories as comics. I'd buy them if they did, heck I'm thinking of buying the back issues

I just remembered, the 90s Mighty Mouse stuff is ace. Maybe it only works if you were reading comics at the time, but the first issue, parodying DKR, and the two issues parodying Crisis were a hoot. The Crisis ones, especially, were clever. The Monitor's stand-in is The Minotaur, who happens to be one of the original anthropomorphic animals.

I recently bought the Blade Runner adaptation on a recommendation from here or the old board but haven't read it yet. It's very good. It's only two regular comic issues in length, so it does come across a little like a "reader's digest version" of the movie, but all the important info and memorable plot moments are there. Plus, it's Al Williamson on art. Trust me, you're in for a treat.

The adaptation for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is drawn and colored so that it was far superior to, well, the actual movie.

Tarzan vs. Predator is a pretty good read. I love that comic. Tarzan's had some great crossover comics. The Batman/Catwoman/Tarzan is brilliantly drawn and designed.

I read a lot of them when I was younger but don't have much interest in them now--the exception being the upcoming Marvel Star Wars omnibuses, for sheer nostalgia (I'm not even a fan of the movies.)
