That book got canceled in the mid 70's. They were never going to return until Roy Thomas Left Marvel.

And then ran as a back up in Adventure comics 'till # 466, cover dated Decemeber 1979. All Star Squadron debuted in early 1981, leaving only a one year gap. But during that time both the Huntress strip in Wonder Woman and Mr. and Mrs. Superman in Superman Family were both set on Earth Two and featured Golden Age characters. Also the "Whatever Happened to" strip ran in DC Comics Presents, and Dr. Fate showed up in the lead spot for a team-up with Superman.

I felt from the mid 70's until the Crisis Earth Two series were around enough to make me happy. I think I bought every Earth Two story that I could.

Yes, in 1990. Zero Hour was '94. Then Johns cleared up the golden age Hawks nicely in his JSA run, but for some stupid reason did it at the expense of the silver age Hawks. I had no problem with that. The Golden Age Hawks were always the more interesting anyway, I never cared much about Katar Hol.

For me I prefer the Golden Age Hawkman > Silver Age Hawkman. Same for Green Lantern (Alan>Hal). For Flash & The Atom I like the Silver Age version better. I preferred the Golden Age versions of all of them, myself, except for the Atom. Jay Garrick will always be my favourite DC character.

I think Whatever Happened to the Crimson Avenger? in DCCP #38 was probably the best story that ever appeared in that title.

Not forgetting DC Comics Presents # 47, which resolved the fate of Sandy, the Golden Boy.

Coming waaay late to this thread. I haven't read any of the replies yet so forgive any redundancies. Here's my take:
First, I reject the binary nature of the question, so I didn't vote. I loved some aspects of the aftermath and hated others. The George Perez Wonder Woman, for example, is my favorite take on the Amazing Amazon. DeMatteis and Bagley's Martian Manhunter reboot rocked. But I was indifferent to the changes in Superman (I'm far fonder of the Wolfman/Ordway issues than the Byrne crap) and Flash. I actively disliked the post-Crisis Batman (though I blame DKR, not COIE, for that one), nor did I care for the changes to Green Lantern, Dr. Fate, Aquaman, or Hawkman. I won't even bring up the damage done to the Earth-Two titles (I wasn't following the Legion so can't comment on them). The only series I remember absolutely HATING was Roy Thomas and Tom Mandrake's "Shazam: The New Beginning," which gutted every last appealing aspect of Captain Marvel in favor of an unrelentingly grim-and-gritty approach. And while I can't say I hated it, my disdain for the Bwa-ha-hah Justice League is well known around these parts.
Cei-U! Can you tell I'm procrastinating because I don't want to work today?

Ignoring the fact that I don't agree, I still don't like throwing characters under the bus needlessly.

nor did I care for the changes to Green Lantern...Aquaman, or Hawkman. How did Crisis change them?

But it was around this time that they changed GL to a team book and added magic to Aquaman's origin. As others pointed out, the changes to Hawkman came much later. In his case, I was misremembering. Cei-U! I summon the clarification!

Didn't the changes to Aquaman's origin come in the Atlantis Chronicles mini in 1990?

IMO based on this post you disliked more things that changed> liking a few changes.... There was more stuff I liked (like the Moench/Colan Spectre and the early issues of the Doom Patrol revival), I just can't remember all of it after all these years. I gave pretty much all the post-Crisis titles a fair shake (at least six months' worth of each) but, yeah, I was not thrilled with a whole lot of it. At any rate, I was completely out of comics by '88, not returning until some friends gave me a copy of Ordway's Power of Shazam OGN six years later. Even then, I never returned to most of the books I'd bought regularly pre-Crisis. Also, if tingramretro is right (and why wouldn't he be?), the changes to Aquaman occurred later than I thought. I suspect I've confused Atlantis Chronicles with Time & Tide. My knowledge of comics from '88 on is pretty scantly, frankly, and that's fine with me. Cei-U! I summon the knowledge gap!
