Who among today's artists would be good for a James Bond comic? I'd like to see Paul Gulacy get another shot at the character - thought he and Moench did a bang-up job on their Bond miniseries back in the 90s, Serpent's Tooth (Bond fans, check this out if you haven't seen it - back-issues are easy to find cheap). Also JH Williams, because I think he can do anything he sets his mind to. Gulacy would be fantastic! I'd also like to see Francesco Francavilla do a Bond book.

So this weed scented Harley Quinn annual is the stupidest gimmick ever. In some homes you wouldn't even be able to tell there was anything different about the comic.

Marvel has the license for Star Wars back, now that they are both Disney properties. And there's a variant cover for the new Star Wars #1 that has a very surprising guest star...

Well The Confessor should be thrilled. Does he get residuals? Royalties? Space cred?

There are allocations on most IDW Artist's Editions, so you may have to ask your shop owner to special order this when solicited, as there are only a limited number produced and most shops don't order them in for the shelves hoping they will sell because of the prohibitive msrp.

I am subscribed to a couple of e-mail newsletters from comic creators, and every so often you get a very interesting tidbit. This was in the Milkfed Criminals newsletter from Fraction and DeConnick I got today-Fraction reminiscing about his time living in New York and Howard Chsykin's reaction to it...
The world outside your window immortalized in comics...or one hell of a big swipe.

Didn't want to start a new thread for this, so did a little thread necromancy... one of the youtube channels I follow is a collector who posts as LeeKirbyDitko comics because he gets some interesting and key stuff, and it's a bit of a vicarious thrill to watch some of his hauls and get a virtual flip through of some of the books. Recently he did a video comparing the grading services (CGC, PGX, CBCS) when he submitted the same copy of Batman #1 (restored) to all 3 (well he bought it CGC graded, popped it open then submitted it to the other 2). The variation in how each of the services graded the book was very interesting, not just in how much varied but in what the things they varied on were. For those who buy graded books, or have their books slabbed, this might be an informative video... for those who can't abide slabbing books, I hear you, but just pretend this post doesn't exist -M
