I've picked up some of Moore's Avatar stuff before. It's creepy as hell. Undecided on this next one.

Stuff from SDCC still trickling in at CBR... This article is about Mark Evanier's history of comics panel about the Bronze Age featuring Walt and Louise Simonson, Len Wein, Anthony Tollin, Eliot S! Maggin and Steve Leialoha. Some interesting stuff and a great story from Louise Simonson about John Severin. -M Weezie's Severin anecdote is great. "John, I'll just change the date in the caption."

A couple of interesting bits coming out of Baltimore this weekend... BOOM revealed the industry legend who will be doing the art of Mark Waid's project for them....J.G. Jones doing fully painted art. I think Jones i very good, but I am not sure industry legend is a term I would associate with him.No concept or actual title announced, just the creators and a piece or two of preview art... And Frank Cho has 2 creator owned projects coming out, one form BOOM one with Tom Sniegowski from a smaller publisher called Flesk Publications? Both look fairly interesting tome, and I have liked a lot of Sniegowski's urban fantasy stuff so World of Payne is definitely on my radar World of Payne from FleskBOOM! announcements-M

I was at the gym earlier and there was a muscle mag sitting around with Lou Ferrigno on the cover. So I read the interview during a schvitz, and Ferrigno cited the superhero physiques in comic books as one of his initial inspirations for bodybuilding.

Robert Downey Jr. today confirmed Iron Man 4 is in the works during an appearance on the Ellen show. He did not however confirm his involvement in it directly. Earlier in the day he heavily hinted during a reddit Q&A that he would be open to doing an appearance on Agents of SHIELD, and that such might be in the works, and that the Marvel salte of films scheduled would be revelaed sooner rather than later...
NYCC?

Assuming they don't just cut Iron Man from the MCU if/when RDJ leaves, is there much of a chance they'd have Rhodes take up the mantle instead of recasting Tony?

Well here is Bleeding Cool's rumor checklist for NYCC...the Starlin cosmic thing might be interesting... Dynamite has released a series of teasers done by Darwyn Cooke... any guesses who they might be? ?? New Flash Gordon (the Parker series is cancelled) or Buck Rogers? ?? ?? Outline looks almost like a Prince Valiant type but don't think Dynamite has those rights... pretty sure that one is Mandrake the Magician... and pretty sure this one is The Phantom... -M

Looks like they have some interesting properties. I've not been a fan of Dynamite, but they've always had properties I liked.
I'll have to keep an eye out, that's pretty good teaser material. Also very happy about the Groo announcement. What I'm really waiting for is a deluxe hardcover phonebook of Groo. Like those Library Editions at Dark Horse.

They did Kings Watch last year by Jeff Parker, which had Phantom, Mandrake, Lothar and Flash Gordon team up and led into the current Flash Gordon series by Jeff Parker (sad to say it's been cancelled and will end after the second arc). They've had Phantom and Flash Gordon based series before too, but the All Hail hashtag does indicate King and they might have expanded that deal...

Edit to add-if they get Darwyn Cooke to do the full book on one of those,I'd be in heaven!
