Well here is Bleeding Cool's rumor checklist for NYCC...the Starlin cosmic thing might be interesting... Dynamite has released a series of teasers done by Darwyn Cooke... any guesses who they might be? ?? New Flash Gordon (the Parker series is cancelled) or Buck Rogers? ?? ?? Outline looks almost like a Prince Valiant type but don't think Dynamite has those rights... pretty sure that one is Mandrake the Magician... and pretty sure this one is The Phantom... -M In case of the "Prince Valliant" one, it looks like the character has a bird on his shoulder (a raven or a crow, I guess?). Which could be an important clue. Second one could be the Gray Mouser?

From the profile I might say yes to Mouser, but the clue about forest is not relevant. I also initially thought Robin Hood with the hood and forest, but the sword hilt and the tentacle/serpent say no to that.
Good catch on the bird though, I initially thought it was part of the flowing cape.

It's Jungle Jim. They're all King Features characters. And yeah, it's Prince Valiant.

Robert Downey Jr. today confirmed Iron Man 4 is in the works during an appearance on the Ellen show. He did not however confirm his involvement in it directly. Earlier in the day he heavily hinted during a reddit Q&A that he would be open to doing an appearance on Agents of SHIELD, and that such might be in the works, and that the Marvel salte of films scheduled would be revelaed sooner rather than later... NYCC? -M Having RDJ just pop in for a couple of minutes as a "look, we got a big-name movie star to slum it for a cameo" is pointless, because people won't tune in just to see RDJ. It was like the Samuel L. Jackson cameo early in last season that was tacked on to the end of an episode, but when he showed up for a longer stretch in the finale, it was a bigger deal and felt more like a part of the show than just a promotional stunt. However, if it is something akin to the Sif appearance from last season, where Stark (because we have to face it that they aren't going to pony up the cash for the SFX to get Iron Man to appear) is integral to the story, I would be all for it. It would go a lot further to getting more eyeballs on the show, in a "this is actually part of the MCU and matters in the grand scheme of things" sort of way; also, having some future crossover between the show and a movie (Captain America #3?), provided the show makes it that long, could help with promotion as well.

I might check out Flash Gordon and The Phantom, although I have zero experience with either character.

For me, it's hard to think of any current artist who could follow legends like Alex Raymond and Al Williamson on Flash Gordon. Mark Schultz is about the only one I can imagine carrying on that tradition.

Mark Schultz is about the only one I can imagine carrying on that tradition. Doc Shaner has actually been doing some great work on Jeff Parker's Flash Gordon book. It's not quite in the vein of Raymond and Williamson, but it is vibrant and interesting.

and pretty sure this one is The Phantom... -M I loved the last Phantom series they did, it was a great re-imagining of the character so I'm interested to see what they'd do this time around.

I loved Afterlife with Archie and thought Life with Archie was okay...but I don't think I could get behind Archie Meets Predator...I mean what would the plot be? I really can't see Archie and the gang packing heat and fighting a predator.
