I got that Soupy Sales scan from the internet. Someday I'll have to scan my copy, which Soupy signed at a club date he did in the early 90s. I have the ticket stub from that appearance in the bag with the comic. I asked him why there was never a second issue; he said the first just didn't sell well. The Archie company didn't do many TV adaptations and probably were unsure about it. Soupy was the #1 kids' TV show at the time; if Gold Key had done the comic they would have published at least six issues before giving up.
Also, that cover features something that appeared on a lot of Archie covers in the early-to-mid 60s - one of the girls has her slip showing. It happened so often that I suspect it was an editorial choice, like purple gorillas on DC covers.

Another contest that makes it's tough to vote for - 5 weeks of hard to vote covers and it's never ends!

I hate this!
jodoc's sentimental Shakespearean favorite is also one of mine.
mrp's Red Nails cover is a gem.
Love the Captain's scary Sleepy Hollow cover.
And I'm a sucker for that noirish Dan Barry design, even though Crimebuster gave in to the lure of nepotism with his choice.
Can't procastinate any longer.
Going with the brilliant Gil Kane, who made a dress-up doll (there were no action figures then) in Spandex and a Captain Compass hat going all Pieta-ish and VOWING revenge too compelling to resist.
Well chosen, Paradox!

I was going to vote chickenpocket / Micronauts. That seemed pretty sure.
Then slam bradley puts up not 1, but 2 of my favorites, with The Shadow & Doc Savage.
Oh, this is so tough, but I'm going with slam.
Then, mr. Icctrombone makes me scrap again with this week's last, but not least, P. Craig Russell entry of The Ring of the Nibelung.
Ultimately, I had to vote Icctrombone. I think everyone can agree that's obvious, though definite shout outs to slam and chickenpocket.
You folks make this competitive each and every week.

Seriously, guys, a lot of good choices this week. But I have to pick one. And while I was not familiar with that Soupy Sales cover before, now I can't get it out of my head.
So thanks a lot, Rob Allen!
you can do it in your house, yeah
