Now that we have a dedicated section for Toys & Collectibles, I thought it was time to resurrect this thread... As soon as I finish the refit of the office and comic room caused by my wife's decision to rearrange pretty much the entire house while on vacation last week, I'll post pics of the new set up. I'm still amidst redoing the studio then have to clean up the other room where everything was stored for the move yet, so could be a week or so before I get pics up. -M

Ok just about done with the office/studio, so took some pics to share with you all...still have a few minor details to wrap up (fill in some space on some shelves, etc.) Ok the view from the doorway, left side then right side of the room from inside the room, this is the corner you can't see from the entryway because the door is in the way... the curio case in the corner is the sole holdout from when this was the spare bedroom, but it holds a ton of Amy's knickknacks and mementos so it stays put. from the opposite corner here is the doorway where the first pics were taken... Next post will offer some close ups & detail shots. -M

On the wall next to the closet, we have a few bookcases and some art on the walls... The two shelves feature my art and art reference books and the History of Middle Earth by Tolkien. On the wall my replica Egyptian papyri, a Darwyn Cooke Justice League variant cover, and a facsimile edition of Nick Fury #4 from the Marvel ELgends action fiugure line-one of my favorite Steranko covers. YOu can also see the oversized Pen and Ink edition of Hit #2 a great noir comic published by BOOM! featuring gorgeous art by Vanesa R. Del Rey, Sim's Guide to Self-Publishing, the Batman '66 Batmobile Pop Vinyl, a great Greek status I picked up from an estate sale and a bunch of Snoopy PVC figures. A close up of the Pen & Ink book... and the statue (you can see the Ross Supes print in the background) the rest of those bookshelves... including my writing reference books, fantasy and sci-fi prose fiction, etc. More to come... -M

In the corner next to the window we have my media shelf featuring comic related DVD, Blue Rays and prose books... the corner next to it holds my museum replica Templar broadsword.... You can see a Finder cover sketch print by Carla Speed MacNeil in the background as well, that was inserted in a random comic I bought for a buck at a shop several years ago. Next to the media case is the Wonder-Wall, a sketch cover and original art sketch page featuring Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman vs. Red Sonja by Brian Lattimer, one of the artists from our local comics scene. The original page I bought in a charity auction for the Heroes Initiative and I commissioned the sketch cover from Brian at the same con. The other 2 are Bombshell variant covers featuring Wonder Woman. Above the media shelf there is a copy of Donatello #1 Colorr reprint from IDW signed by Kevin Eastman when I met him at a con last year, a Tellos print by Mike Wieringo, and the Darwyn Cook variant to the Fox #1, singed by Mark Waid, the writer of the issue. Plus you can see some of the comic-related prose I won. This is the mess that is my deak, complete with Hawkman and Ghost Rider figures... and this is my drawing table, above it you can see a promo poster for the Wilderlands of High Fantasy revised edition featuring Frazetta art, and the original Basic and Expert Rules for D&D both signed by artist Erol Otus at Gen Con several years back. That completes the Studio tour. I'll do the comic room when I get it finishe din the next week or two... -M

Okay, I've put this off long enough. Here's a quick and dirty look at my Sanctum Sanctorum. I'd intended to get those piles of comics put away, redo the labels on my short boxes (I reorganized recently), and move around some posters, but this will have to do: The long corridor from the stairs to my finished attic. That's the Post-Crisis Superman run I'm currently reviewing being displayed on the wall. The many stacks of comics resting on top of my short boxes aren't supposed to be there. I just need to find time to put them all away. Adam Warlock will also recognize a structure made of Constux in the foreground right. In the distance is my framed original clippings of the Joker's first appearance in the 1943 Batman comic strip. The main part of my office, complete with reading couch. On the coffee table are some 1990s X-Men figures I picked up at my LCS the other day, along with my collection of Hammer Dracula films. Reverse angle view. You'll note that those posters have not been moved since I added the stereo and speakers atop those shelves. I really need to get around to that. Above them are my three original art pieces: two original pages from Breyfogle's Life with Archie, and one commissioned Usagi Yojimbo piece from Stan Sakai. Also, I do own more than three shelves worth of actual books. I only keep my absolute favorites, as well as ones I'm currently reading, in the attic. We have shelves and shelves of other books in other rooms. The chair I'm sitting at right now, and what's behind it. Reverse angle view I must...move...in...
