Alrighty, so I am about 90% done with the office and studio reset, finishing the last big push today. Have some more little bits to do here and there, but I snapped a bunch of pics today to make a photo tour or chez MRP! Amy went to bed before I could upload all the pics from her phone, so I will finish tomorrow, but I will start tonight... So when you enter chez MRP, you will most likely enter through the kitchen-now most kitchens won't have much of interest for comics/geek culture aficionados, but not so with ours. A few things of interest in the kitchen... those familiar with hex signs, common in Amish and colonial American culture will recognize this, except with a twist-a unicorn hex sign, one of Amy's favorite pieces... the kitchen is also watched over by a Green Man for each season...here's one: and the group of four... When going for a snack in the fridge you will see this piece... Amy also has a large magnet collection on the fridge, but I haven't got the pic for that one yet, so on to the living room... -M

Let's see if proboards will let me do this without eating some of the pics like last post....took forever to get it fixed. The big wall of the living room is the TV wall, the left side has a large portrait of a Native American Amy found at an estate sale several years back and our stained glass dragon... and the Alex Ross Batman and Superman prints that I got Amy our first Christmas together are on the right side of the wall... -M

On the wall to the right between 2 windows is a fantasy painting Amy did while in college-it's the only piece of her original art we have framed and hanging, sorry for the glare from the flash... on the opposite wall, above Amy's desk/studio space is prints of some legendary monsters.... on the other side of the kitchen doorway form her desk is what I call Amy's corner, her recliner is there plus a few bits of interest... a Larry Elmore print and some dragon statuary... and a corner rack filled with religious/historical statuary (Venus/mother goddesses, Joan of Arc, Buddhas, Egyptian iconography, a teak carving from Tahiti my uncle brought back for me, etc.) -M

Moving form Amy's corner to my corner, we have a corner shelf with mostly gargoyles and statuary, Lord of the Rings bookends, etc. a dragon mirror and some classic maps forgive the dust, that's one of the things still on the to do list.... near the far door to the hallway is more Egyptian themed stuff...these replica papyri above our bookcase and the bookcase with a bunch of fantasy stuff (Martin, Jordan, anthologies, Tolkien, etc.) alas poor Hawkgirl has a broken wing that I am trying to repair otherwise she would be in the Hawk display elsewhere.... -M

onto the hallway.... in the hallway we have the entrance to the Studio, featuring framed covers of the first 2 Twilight Star Studio books Amy did the cover colors on (the Cygann ish was also my first as editor) the pics of the studio itself aren't uploaded yet, so I will get those tomorrow... the rest of the hallway has more iconography bits... next to the studio door some dragons and the sun... and on the other side of the comic room door we have this... now onto the comic room.... -M

The comic room from the hallway entrance.... the reading chair has the last of the stuff I need to srot through to finish up, mostly magazines and the opposite view, the room from the exterior doorway you saw in the first pic... the witch crossing sign is he door to go upstairs to the attic/converted master bedroom, sorry but the pics stay on the ground floor standing at the hallway entrance, looking to the left is the exterior window wall of the comic room... and the opposite wall from that.... with a glimpse of me taking the pic in the mirror -M

To the left of the exterior door is one set of shelves and a wall of framed comics.... in that corner is the closet, covered with an Alex Ross reproduction of his cover to Crisis on Multiple Earths trade, homagin the first JLA/JSA x-over opening up the closet, we find more stuff (big surprise) the top shelf is mostly Moorcock novels but some other fantasy stuff... while the bottom shelf is classic and current D&D and gaming material...and a bunch of unused posters (mostly Manara and Ross stuff) -M

A closer look at the framed books... Starlin's Avengers Annual 7 and Marvel Two-in-One Annual 2, one of my favorite stories of all time, between them is Warlock and the Infinity Watch signed by Angel Medina... in the next row we have a Conan issue signed by Howard Chaykin, one of the few issue she did the art on, that's the surviving coopy I bought off the racks as a kid, a Warlock print signed by Medina and Dreadstar #50 signed by Medina on the bottom row we have both of Waid's Daredevil #1's both signed by Mark. Between them is the Dan Parent sketch of Sabrina as the Scarlet Witch I commissioned this year at Gem City, and below them is a Thanos sketch by Rick Deschains I commissioned this year at Origins. -M

The shelf of short boxes, with my floppies in chronological order...the shelf holds 1983-2006 I decorated each short box with comic art or logos and made labels for each box... more boxes, and here's a close up of one of the labels.... I basically used google image to find pics I liked, then uploaded them into an art program and added a word balloon and lettered in the dates contained in the box. The shelving unit is metal, so P made them the size of the little plastic photo holders that had magnetic strips, printed them, slid them inside the sleeve and used he magnets to stick them on he shelf below the box to identify its contents. If I need to change them, I can slip out the old one, reletter the image, and print a new one. -M
