I never watched more than a minute of He-Man, but the comics DC did a few years ago sure looked pretty good. Has anyone read em ? I haven't read them, but I'd check them out if I get my hands on them. Are there any particular volumes?

There were 4 different series of DC mini-comics that were included with the action figures in the 80's. They also produced a standard 3 issue mini-series at that time. Marvel's Star Comics of the 90's had 13 issues. Edmont in Britain produced 72 issues, Image had 2 different titles of 6 & 4 issues, and Dark Horse had a mini-comic mini-series in 2011, and a final DC mini-comics mini-series ran from 2012-2014. What I was specifically referring to was the standard size DC comic series that started in 2012. He-Man & the Masters of the Universe # 1-6 by James Robinson, Keith Giffen, and Philip Tan, and 2 one-shots with the origins of Skeletor and He-Man both written by Joshua Hale Fialkov with art by Frazer Irving and Ben Oliver, respectively. HeMan and the MOTU 1 by hondobrode, on Flickr DC collected He-Man & the Masters of the Universe Volumes # 1-5 which contains # 1-19, Masters of the Universe : Origin of Skeletar, Masters of the Universe : Origin of He-Man, Masters of the Universe : Origin of Hordak, Masters of the Universe (digital) # 1-8, and volume Two # 1-6. They also released DC Universe Vs. Masters of the Universe containing # 1-6 & DC Comics Presents # 47 and two volumes collecting He-Man : The Eternity War collecting those 15 issues. It wasn't until DC's 2012 series that it kind of interested me. Apparently Comixology, and I assume Dark Horse digital as well, has 2 digital collections with the entire 68 mini-comics produced through the 80's & 90's. Comixology has all 19 single DC issues of He-Man & the Masters of the Universe available but only the collected volumes # 3-5. Upon examining them, they do indeed contain the entire 19 issues. The collected volumes # 1-2 are He-Man : The Eternity War collecting all 15 issues. He-Man and the Masters of the Universe collects the DC 6 issue mini DC Universe Vs. Masters of the Universe contains all 6 issues as well. DC's Masters of the Universe: Origins of Eternia offers Masters of the Universe: Origin of He Man #1, Masters of the Universe: The Origin of Skeletor #1 and Masters of the Universe: Origin of Hordak. DC's Masters of the Universe Vol. 2: Origins of Eternia collects Masters of the Universe digital chapters 2-7, Masters of the Universe: The Origin of Skeletor #1, Masters of the Universe: Origin of He Man #1, and Masters of the Universe: Origin of Hordak #1. I've barely watched the cartoon but really like the talent DC has put on these recent books. If I see them on sale, or Comixology Unlimited, I'll have to give them a try. It'd be cool to see DC integrate them into the DCU permanently, which I doubt will ever happen, but the MOTU universe could be the DCU's Asgard.

Unfortunately, sabongero & hondobrode ... I don't have He-Man, She-Ra, and GI Joe on my list of top 50 Influential Characters / Groups of All-Time. Sorry about that.

He-Man and She-Ra I may understand but may ask I for your reasoning for why no G.I. Joe? As for Alpha Flight, I love the team and concept. I don't think it's a matter of disrespect on the part of Marvel over their limited appearances since their first series, rather I think it's a matter of they just don't know what to do with them. I'm a longtime Byrne fan and his original run on the title stands as probably my all-time favorite. Considering that he was the driving force behind the creation of the team and if memory serves, was the catalyst for their early appearances in UXM under Claremont. ( UXM #120-121 is a terrific two-parter with them). I still have the first 30 issues or so of their original title. My favorite members: Guardian (or Vindicator, yes it is a better codename), Puck, Sasquatch Favorite issue(s): One of the finest 'death' issues I've ever read. I remember reading this as a kid and being completely shocked by that last page. The team journeys to the Realm of the Beasts to try and save the soul of their lost teammate Sasquatch.

I have some history with G.I. Joe when I was around 5 to 8 when I had a couple of original dolls and then after awhile I did not care for the Cartoons, the Comic Books, and the movie itself. Right around 10 or 11, I had zero interest in G.I. Joe and sadly lost interest in the whole franchise. I sold the original dolls for a great price and sadly I just don't know how much I got them for. Sorry String.

Alpha Flight - Least Known MembersMarina - Sad to say, I really do not know much about her and because of that my memory without going back to issues of Alpha Flight to be honest she's an unknown to me. Puck - I know him briefly and I thought he was a throw-in to make the group a little more interesting but sadly I really have a hard time remembering him and according to my friends and I don't know it's true or not - they added him in the team so that Alpha Flight had a member that's resembles the Beast. Because of that, Alpha Flight had some alliance with the X-Men that was rather shaky at first. Shaman - I know that he is the team mystic and has a lot of unique abilities and so forth - the problem is when I first read Alpha Flight he never, ever left me a good impression and having said that - I can't recall anything in importance to the team itself and knowing that it is a shame of me for not trying to find out more. I read Alpha Flight in the early 80's and in my first impression of Shaman - he did not had a great deal of impact to the team itself.

Alpha Flight - Brother and Sister DuoBefore I start these two heroes Personally Speaking, Alpha Flight is basically a 5 Member Team - They are Vindicator, Sasquatch, Snowbird, Aurora, and Northstar - these five heroes are the most prominent and later I learned about the other three Marina, Puck, and Shaman. What destroyed my love for this team that Marvel Comics did the unthinkable by adding Wolverine to the mix. That's added more conflict and made this team on uneasy grounds. I do not want to discuss Wolverine at all in regarding this team itself and please refrain your thoughts about Wolverine to this team. Thank You. Aurora and NorthstarThese two heroes of Alpha Flight basically did the same thing and I felt that Marvel Comics did a horrible job showcasing these two heroes in retrospect of the team itself and I was very disappointed in these two members and that's why I ranked Alpha Flight at #47. To be honest with all of you here, there is nothing inspiring about these two heroes at all; and that's why I have a love/hate relationship with this group period.

Alpha Flight - The Big ThreeSasquatch - Most Imposing, has Super Strength, Intelligence, one of the very few Marvel Heroes can handle the Hulk, The Thing, Wendigo, and others. Easily my favorite Alpha Flight Member and one of the most well known of. I just loved this guy he's a team player work really well with Vindicator (Guardian) and has one of the best endurance physically for a hero his size. Great hand to hand combat skills and that's makes him formidable when you add his great strength to the mix. He stands at 10 feet tall and weighs around 2,000 pounds I believe and that alone makes him one of the most impressive Marvel Comics Character to date. Vindicator - The team leader one of the most dynamic team member with a battle suit that's one of the most technologically renowned that rivals Iron Man, War Machine, and others. The suit itself is driven by cyber control and having said that in later designs that enables him to fly up to speeds to Mach 1. I don't recall him flying more than Mach 1 and I think his speed is right on the nose for this team itself. He can fire energy blasts and have an excellent force shield as well. Well Rounded and quite adapted in all forms of team dynamics and that's why he's the Team Leader. Work well with Sasquatch too. Snowbird - The most unique team member of this team itself. A Member that's made Alpha Flight - Alpha Flight and one of the true members that I felt that can get along with anyone and uses her great abilities to transform to any animals in the Canadian Wilderness. To me, she's quite handful and one time she even transform herself to a Wolverine and literally shredded Wendigo apart and that alone is an impressive feat itself. She is a favorite of mine and one of the most underrated members of Alpha Flight and I wished someday that DC Comics and Marvel Comics can do a team up of Vixen and Snowbird together. That's one crossover that I would love to see.

Puck is a least known member? I love Puck! He was by far my favorite member of Alpha Flight. Long live Puck! I understand that, but the absence of not reading Alpha Flight in the past 15-20 years and I had a hard time creating this list and because of that I had difficulty remembering him. I know what he is capable of and having said that I don't have a connection to him. The problem is that I have no history of Beta Flight and that's one of the reason for that. Looking at the picture above you I've honestly do not know the three members of Beta Flight that are right of Puck and Marina and the members of Gamma Flight that I did not know about until now. I have learned so much about Alpha Flight in the past 5 days than I did in the last 15-20 years. Like hondo said, this team did not get any respect and that's why I'm mad that Marvel Comics neglected them for all these years.

Always liked Alpha Flight but I could never find many of their comics at the local convenience store. During that time, I was just finding the comics specialty shop and was more focused on New Teen Titans and Legion of Super Heroes, especially the baxter stories. I would like the get the collected edition of the first Alpha Flight comics, but it is out of print and really expensive on ebay. Intersting and colorful characters. I do have their early X-Men appearances and those are great.
