Is that really the new opening theme?

Is that really the new opening theme? No, it's a fan-made thing, apparently in the style of the opening of a Netflix show called Stranger Things. Haven't seen that, but I liked this version of the theme.

If the rumors are right it looks like Capaldi may be done after the next season which is very sad indeed as he was really just starting to hit his stride. But there's also this to make you smile: And if you want your Doctor Who fix but can't wait till Christmas this Saturday BBC America is showing an animated version of the Power of The Daleks which is super exciting.

Saw The Power of the Daleks on the big screen the other night. I had "seen" it before with recording of the dialogue matched with stills. I loved it then as it is the best first story of any doctor by far. Patrick Troughton is my favorite incarnation too.
It looked great seeing it for the first time with the animation and will definitely buy it when it becomes available on DVD.

I'm not a huge Dr. Who fan, but I liked it as a kid and, of course, like most boys and girls my age, I grew up watching it from behind the sofa in fear. I am quite intrigued by this animated version of these missing episodes, done to match the surviving audio recordings. I'd definite;y like to have a watch of that.

If your a fan of the original series I think you would like it. I'm going to watch it again when they start airing the parts starting this Saturday on BBC America.

I've seen some of that prior reconstruction before online but I don't think I made it all the way through but I'm glad the animation was good and I'm so jealous you got to see it on the big screen that must have been a great way to experience it.

Yeah it was a great experience. I actually didn't find out about it until the day of the showing because I was checking showtimes for Dr. Strange for the following day. I totally lucked out. As I said before it's one of my favorite stories and probably my favorite of the Troughton era. Animation or no animation it stands as one of the best.

I finally got around to catching the new special...and I was seriously underwhelmed. But I liked the trailer for the next series, the companion felt a little like early Rose but I like that kind of totally regular companion feel.

I thought the Christmas special was a decent episode of Lois and Clark, but kinda a lousy episode of Doctor Who. They really, really need a new writer at this point IMO.
