I've been wanting to read and review what I consider the "best" Marvel/DC crossovers for a long time now. Treasury size comics are among the few physical comics that I still collect, so all of the older treasury sized issues will be read from the original sources as opposed to digital or trades. This fact alone excites me because while I love digital and trade collections, it's going to be nice to hold an old newsprint comic in my hands again. Ah, that glorious smell. Since I'll only be reviewing eleven issues in total, my reviews are going to be much more detailed than my Marvel Age reviews given the tight focus and for the simply fact that I'm not trying to get through a decade of content. The comics I'll be reviewing are: - Superman vs The Amazing Spider-Man (1976)
- Batman vs The Incredible Hulk ("DC Special Series #27" 1981)
- Superman and The Amazing Spider-Man ("Marvel Treasury Edition #28" 1981)
- The Uncanny X-Men and The New Teen Titans (1982)
- Batman & Captain America (1996)
- Darkseid vs Galactus: The Hunger (1996)
- The Incredible Hulk vs Superman (1999)
- JLA/Avengers #1-4 (2003/04)

Sounds like a fun review thread. My favorite is probably the second Superman/ Spider-man crossover that features the Jim Shooter story and John Buscema art closely followed by the JLA/ Avengers book.

Sounds like a very fun thread! Although not some of the best examples, I enjoyed the Marvel vs DC mini-series that they did in the '90's - though probably more for Amalgam than the actual 'Vs' mini.

Yeah, this should be fun. I've read them all except the second Superman/Spider-Man but its been years. I think the two Byrne selections are underrated. Batman/Captain America is among the best things he's ever done.

I enjoyed the two Byrne books but I read the Cap/ Batman book recently and the art looked more cartoony than I last remembered it.

His art has taken a cartoony direction over the past 20 years or so. He actually denied this when I brought it up back when I posted on his board. He claimed that his old stuff was more cartoony and his new stuff was more realistic...yeah. This is objectively not the case. Just look at his FF run or Superman run, or any 80's material for that matter, for proof positive. Still, I love that book.

No X-Men/Teen Titans? That was the best one!
Cei-U! I summon the Simonson/Austin tour de force!

When I first read the book, I thought it was the best crossover yet, but the last time I read it, I kept waiting for it to get good.

Don't forget one of the best Yes, that's one I should read. I forgot about this one. I don't have it, so I'm sure that's why it slipped my mind. I'm a big Steve Rude fan.

Why only 10? There were quite a few others. These are the ones I have, but mainly because many of the ones in the 90's were, well, crap. Plus they all have such great creative teams.
