Anyone person on Batman will probably be the hardest for me to pinpoint. I'll do an artist post too.

Good call on Alan Moore's From Hell. It'll never be as popular as Watchmen, but it's the best written comic I've ever read.

Gardner Fox : Kothar the barbarian,
What? You might say. Who? Is that even a comic?
No, it isn't (although one Kothar novel was adapted in the pages of Conan the barbarian). Kothar is the hero of a handful of short novels and novelettes, and they are unapologetically silly and unpretentious. they're also a whole lot of clean and minfless fun, just the way a silly sword and sorcery series should be. I like Kothar better than any other thing Fox has written.
If I were Cei-U, I would summon the choice from the left field!

The 5 issue Punisher mini series that predated any of his solo ongoing titles, circa '86... I read it again last year via Unlimited, and for me it hasn't aged well. It is definitely a thing of the 80s and felt like Miami Vice meets Lethal Weapon with more shooting and less likable characters. -M

Frank Miller- Daredevil Mike Zeck- Punisher Walt Simonson- Thor Jim Steranko- Nick Fury When did Mike Zeck do Punisher? I'll even read Punisher for his art. In 1986. Zeck and writer Steven Grant created the Punisher's first solo mini-series (though he'd previously had solo stories in one of the black and white mags, IIRC).

'86 mini-series (Circle of Blood) with Steven Grant. He drew the picture of Frank in my avatar. Some of his portfolio work on the character is amazing. Still hands down the definitive Punisher artist IMO.
