Is there a clearer choice than this? Rather than this? Sleek and stylish vs. clunky and overdone. In my defense, I've not read any old Adam Strange. But I like that mini series, so between this and his other modern appearances like Omega Men around that time, I am accustom to it. And in the context of the mini, with abuse he goes through, he probably needs some armour. Edit: As far as exclusively for visuals, I like them both. Both could make sense in different circumstances.

My main problem with all of Rogue's cstumees is that they have Rogue in them. I've never been able to stand the character, or for that matter Gambit, or most of the other X-Men recruited since the early 80s. I still regard Rogue and every other X-Man post Kitty Pryde to be 'new' and basically uninteresting, somehow. Yeah, I think it's the combination of the bad accents and the annoying 'will they or won't they' romance. When they did what was essential a Rogue solo in X-Men: Legacy, she was a little better. Costume wise, I always like the 90s avengers Bomber jacket look... ironic, that.

The armor is fine, but why does he need a Dust Buster attached to his chest?

Oh, I know. it's always what you're used to, what you grew up with. And it certainly was right in line with what was current in the 50s in spacesuit concepts and waht a spaceman would look like. I just think part of the original's appeal was that sharp sleekness thatw as perfectly suited to Adam's intellectual, rather than physical, power. The later version makes him look more like a muscle-bound type or a Transformer.

Yeah, I remember those old 50's space exploration movies and landing on Mars and all the astronauts just had was a cloth suit while they are out on a hostile planet. Despite all the funny seques, it's the funniest part of Amazon Women on the Moon, because that's they way those old space movies were. And that second series definitely made him out as more of an action hero than the scientist, I see in some of the DC animated movies and series. I should probably see if the library has some Mystery in Space reprints. Unfortunately most of the comic collections are either manga, kids (like Marvel Adventures) or "adult". So there's not a whole lot of older than modern age or code comic collections.

There is a Showcase Presents black and white collection of the Adam Strange stories and coming next year in July is a color Omnibus amazon has up for Pre-order.

The original never goes out of style. The chain mail covering took some getting used to but I've come to love this look as well, especially drawn by Coipel. Any redesign by Simonson is worthy as well.

The Beast! his second suit with the red and blue leotard was very good looking on Hank. Then his change to a grey furred beastly form came along which was a cool horrific monster re-imagining but once they moved him to the lovable blue furry acrobat of the Avengers then that was an iconic look for him i thought.
Iceman original snowman look was kind of cool, but for somebody named Iceman the look was incorrect. Once the more crystalline and ice cube design style came that was perfection. All the changes since making his Iceman form more extreme don't really work for me but giving him more than just a pair of trunks and boots when icing up like the full suit when with the Champion's was good.
Nightcrawler has had some truly ugly and terrible style's placed on him over the years with the best being those which keep some of the original Cockrum red/white/black styling.
Giving "Him" more than just a pair of golden trunks and a name change into Adam Warlock with the stunning Red with lightning bolt on chest was a wonderful sight. Starlin's change to remove the shoulder pads and lightning bolt and adding the cape while good was just not as good as that Gil Kane design.

For my money the best Thor design is Chris Samnee's design: A perfect blending of the Kirby and Coipel designs while also being a much more "functional" costume.

Pre Crisis Adult Earth 2 Robin: The one on the left is hideous. I think the one on the right would be OK with red leggings instead of yellow.

The second Earth Two Robin costume (which was actually first worn by his Earth One counterpart) is my favourite of all Dick Grayson's looks, and one of my favourite Bronze Age costumes overall.
