I'm a big fan of Wonder Man's safari outfit. Much prefer Spider-Man's original togs. That thing that Daredevil is wearing is an abomination. Sandman's original costume may be my favorite of all time. But I'm a pulp guy at heart. As an aside...the new costume was designed by Paul Norris. S&K took over after the change. I love the original Capt. Britain costume.. it's so.. British. The later ones were just copies of Captain America in UK colors, IMO, which were less interesting. The reason I like the Alan Davis redesign of Captain Britain is because it's such a clever design, visually. The mask in particular, which if you look at it, is actually a Union Jack with a section of the bottom cut out for the nose and mouth, with the lower vertical stripe being picked up on the chin and the lower diagonals stretched around the cutout area. The cavalry boots are interesting, too. Almost unique in a superhero outfit. With the white leggings and the boots, from the waist down he looks like a 19th century Hussar, which I think rather fits his personality. And of course, the chest symbol is the saltire flags of Scotland and Ireland overlaid on each other minus England's Cross of St. George. I'd say that design was far more British than the original, personally. And has had a lot more thought put into it than the Herb Trimpe design.

Some of the newer sleek ones are pretty cool too, though. Awesome idea for a thread The Silver Centurian has always been my favorite Iron Man armor.

I always thought the 'safari outfit' for Wonder Man felt really 'right' as he was a movie star.. it always seemed very movie starry to me. I also have always liked the Wasp having different looks all the time, fit her character and made alot of sense. As for Spider-man.. obviously the original is a classic, but my favorite version has always been the original Spidey 2099 (the new one they're using now is terrible! If it's no matter who it is under the mask and just using the name Spiderman, the symbiote costume and 2099 are the best designs to me.

Is there a clearer choice than this? Rather than this? Sleek and stylish vs. clunky and overdone.

Never liked this. Totally cuts off his peripheral vision, and if he turns his head to look he gets a facefull of hood.

I really like it as well; shame it was so short-lived. Seems that Michelinie was in kind of a hurry to get rid of it at the end of "Stark Wars" to bring the red-and-gold colour scheme back. I also liked the design that came after the War Machine armour, the one that was sometimes radio controlled. I specifically like the helmet on it, and how it doesn't have a mouth slit like all of the previous designs.

Black Widow: changing from the fishnet stockings with cape 1950's woman of mystery/intrigue ala Mata Hari into her sleek skintight black Emma Peel knock off and then into the ugly Miller designed grey outfit (nothing says black widow like grey eh?) and now into her unzipped to the navel so the bad guys are distracted while she kicks their butt.
Hercules original look bespoke his Greek mythological beginnings but over the years his "skirt" had to have been laughed at. Now that he has started to evolve into new decade he is wearing pants but damn, who thought giving him the man-bun was a good character and artistic looking design choice?
Robin being allowed to wear pants was a much needed improvement for the boy wonder, no matter how sexy his legs were for those in the gay community he had to have a hell of a time always shaving them and watching out for cuts and bruises!
Rob's team mate Speedy/Arsenal hasn't had much luck with costume design choices other than when DC chose to make him Red Arrow.
Cyborg hasn't had much success in his various updated looks either. The artists' keep making him more and more robotic forgetting to show and emphasize his human portion. He should NOT be head to toe armor. He is NOT Robot man, he is a cyborg, so showing the differing body versus armor is part of his look.
Will be more coming of course...

Does Cyborg actually have human parts anymore, aside from his head? I haven't kept up with him post Flashpoint, but certainly from the 90s onwards he seemed to have lost most of his humanity due to various disasters, and I think I've just been assuming that these days, there's pretty much nothing left of the real Vic Stone.

Marie Elkins? Is that you? ... Betsy Norcross? LOL--I remember the first time I heard that the Maestro's real name on Seinfeld was "Bob Cobb"--I screamed at the TV "That's Mon-El!"

Another one who has had TONS of costumes is Rogue. Most of them absolutely horrid: but she's really only had 2 that I liked. this one (that stuck around for a *very* brief time): and this one (which I LOVE, but only looks good when Bachalo draws it):

I actually like most of Rogue's costumes. I've mentioned this before, but what I like about Rogue's costume designs is that, by virtue of her powers, the artist is forced to always make her a full costume. They can't be lazy by just putting her in a mini skirt with boots and a top, because she'd constantly be at risk of knocking out her teammates.
The only costumes of hers I don't like are whenever she revisits her original green-and-white Brotherhood costume. Somewhere in the mid-to-late 90s there was an issue of Uncanny X-Men in which she wears it again for the first time and Wolverine says something like "I thought that costume reminded you of your darker days". I've always associated the costume with a less mature Rogue and felt that she'd outgrown it.

My main problem with all of Rogue's cstumees is that they have Rogue in them. I've never been able to stand the character, or for that matter Gambit, or most of the other X-Men recruited since the early 80s. I still regard Rogue and every other X-Man post Kitty Pryde to be 'new' and basically uninteresting, somehow.
