Ugh, sorry for the COVID scares, folks. I've had a handful of those tests, and they don't exactly feel refreshing, not to mention the stress while you worry and wait. Good luck.

So I’m hanging out waiting for the results of a COVID test. One of the attorneys in my office was positive a week and a half ago or so. So that’s fun. Not. Fingers crossed that you're not infected.

Hope everything turns out ok for you (and for The Captain as well). Our COVID drama is less life-threatening, but out governor announced yesterday that unless COVID numbers in the case stop rising by next week and mask mandates are being obeyed, he will be closing restaurants, bars and gyms, which means I will be out of work again. We should be ok if it happens, but we started austerity measures in our spending as of today, just in case. But with one of us working in a restaurant and the other at a bank, it's probably only a matter of time before one of us is exposed. We had two employees at my work sent home because they were sick, but their COVID tests came back negative (at least for now). -M

Anybody else having trouble getting on Facebook this morning? All I get is a blank screen and an endlessly looping "Redirecting" status. My security software comes up all clear, so I don't think the problem's at my end.

Whenever I look through it on "most recent", it stops after 10 or so updates (Top Stories doesn't have this problem). Youtube has been pretty bad too, the whole site is broken

In slightly better news, number two son got accepted at Georgetown Law. So that’s a good thing.
Also thanks for all the thoughts. Was hoping to have a test result today but it’s not looking good.

It's looking pretty hairy out there for many places in relation to the virus. I've been a bit preoccupied with my Dad getting tests and prescriptions filled, medical products acquired and fingers crossed that his surgery date for Monday goes ahead as planned (and follow-up stay afterwards). I think in some places that would definitely have been effected. It's not just the virus, but when hospitals are overwhelmed by covid that means other procedures get cancelled or deferred and bed aren't available for other issues. The virus is making all the non-covid health care issues so much more difficult.
Oh and we had a water line break on the front lawn and that had to be repaired, and a new roof for an old house demanded by insurance can't be put off any longer.
Money gets tighter too, but hoping my birthday present comics will appear next week, some new old stuff to read! Might be the last for quite awhile.

Second day in a row I can't access Facebook. My anti-virus software says everything's okay. Why can't I get in?
Cei-U! I summon the impending temper tantrum!
EDIT: Problem solved.

Messed up that others not doing all they can to help prevent the exposure to others. Had long discussion with my aunt why I will NOT be at family Thanksgiving dinner. They don't get it and think just wearing a mask should be enough protection. Covid on upward spike, kids in schools exposed/carrying, have 10 people together as I am only in my 1st month of a new job and cant risk myself, my job, my co-workers. Not taking Covid seriously is plain dumb and truly why it continues to remain a massive killer. TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS WORLD!

One of my co-workers tested positive a few weeks ago (last time I saw him in person was well before that, as I've been working from home pretty much constantly since last February). He, and his wife and mother, got it from his son, who picked it up at school (so much for all of the precautionary measures taken by the Croatian educational system). He and his have actually recovered, but last I heard his wife and mother just can't seem to shake it.
Anyway, I hope your case is one of the less severe ones. Take it easy and get well soon.

And I’m covid positive. And I feel like a used dish rag. Wear your masks guys. This shit ain’t fun. Take care of yourself. One of our stores in a nearby city had an employee test positive; so the staff is self-quarrantined, while other stores are providing people to run it, until the 19th (after it was shut down 2 days for deep cleaning). My boss was there Friday, with another manager and a volunteer from another store and the first thing he noticed was that the other two weren't cleaning after customers handled equipment. We heard from the infected employee, who admitted that she had had symptoms for several days, before she got a test. we are required to fill out a daily health assessment and if you answer "yes" to any symptom, you are not allowed to work. She was ignoring that, which endangered others. She's normally a bit more responsible than that. I've been in a vital job since this started and have worked a mostly normal weekly shift, with the public, arguing with people who don't want to wear masks (a claim bullshit things like asthma and claustrophobia as reasons why they can't). I wear my mask, use hand sanitizer, wash my hands for 20 seconds, and use disinfectant spray behind customers. Our company will not put up plexi, as we pass too many things across the counter; so, we still have to try to keep distance and monitor customer capacity. We are hitting our biggest time of the year (we ship packages, as well as provide printing and copying services); so, it looks to be challenging. We've stayed healthy by following protocols. I am not looking forward to the season; but, I am also prepared not to play, as my partner is vulnerable and I am 54. I spent too much time in the military to be intimidated by idiots; so, we are going to be enforcing the rules, like it or not.
