I refuse to succumb to my chronological age. My general state of mind has been pretty similar since I was 24 or so, and that's that. At some point I hope that the technology to download myself into a nice robotic body will kick in before too many of my original parts wear out

At some point I hope that the technology to download myself into a nice robotic body will kick in before too many of my original parts wear out I'm in my thirties, and my wrists already feel 85 years old most of the time due to my job. In fact, this summer, I'm training my son on my job so that I never have to set a decorative spot in leather again. And when it's raining, or the weather does a major change, or it's too cold, my entire forearm from my elbow down to my fingers, can ache pretty badly. I don't know how to remedy this other than rest it.

I've been pretty lucky health wise.. despite being almost 40 and not particularly conscious of health issues(I've seen doctors I think twice in the last 10 years), I don't have any issues to speak of...all my parts work correctly and do what I want them to do.

Having big babies put a strain on my lower back, and my constant use of my hands have caused issue with my wrists, but other than those things, I'm super healthy. I see a chiro for my back, and have issues with it only occasionally.

Yeah, that whole baby thing is rough... glad I was spared that, being male and all My wife has similar little things every so often (we had 3 small-ish babies, all under 7 lbs at birth)

Delighted to hear a bit of good news from Dan for a very welcome change. GoFundMe and other sites like it are a wonderful modern tool for channeling the energies and sensitivity of our online communities into immediate aid where it is most needed. I would have happily contributed, as I know many others here would. Please don't hesitate in the future to provide a link to such things if there is any way we can be of assistance, Dan.
ETA: I just found Shaxper's post with the details of the fund. Sorry. Going there now to see if there's anything I can do.

Oh, and before I forget, my mother is feeling under the weather and has cancelled our plans for Mother's Day weekend. Nothing serious, just a troublesome virus that requires bed-rest. Plus, my wife is working today and tomorrow and the kids are in Brazil, so if you notice a larger than usual volume of obnoxious Phil Maurice posts all over the boards this weekend, now you know why.

I actually trained myself to be able to do 10 to 15 minute "power naps" on the train home after work. They refresh me enough to be able to do either the gym or the montly 3 hour steering committee meetings at the AIDS outreach center where I volunteer. Don't know what I'd do without power napping.

In less than 5 minutes after leaving the house to do the grocery shopping I regretted having to interact with the human race. But I'm safe at home now with no homicidal incidents.
Also waiting for another person at the cooler to get eggs I noticed there were already cook and peeled hard boiled eggs packaged and ready to eat. And before I could stop my mind it went on a "this lazy country" rant before I decided that might buy those when I get old and feeble and need a snack.

Dan, so sorry to hear about the loss of your cat. I'm glad people supported you and your situation, though.
