My poor eyesight priced the book at 59.99, and although surprised, I believed it for a moment.
But man, 267 issues... That's impressive. Erik Larsen can be proud. (I never read a single issue, but my hat's off to his achievement!)

Yeah, I've tried to get into Savage Dragon a few times but I could just never stick with it but it's a great achievement for him none the less.

Wife asked me to do an Ollie's run today and we had a 15% off coupon, so of course I checked out the graphic novel section and it looked like they just got a shipment of new DC stuff in. Came home with quite a bit of more recent stuff... Absolute Wonder Woman by Azzarelo and Chiang-not big on Azz but love Chiang's art and storytelling An absolute style slipcase edition of Watchmen where each issue gets an absolute treatment... some recent HC editions and a big ole Hellblazer volume... a poster-sized portfolio of some of Artgerm's covers... some modern Batman... and Superman/Supergirl and one of the 10 packs of single issue comics-I've been slowly picking up issues of the Batman Urban Legends anthology series (cover price $7.99 each) when I find them cheap, and this one had 2 issues I needed in it, plus some other interesting modern DC stuff so not a bad haul of modern stuff at a really good price. -M

I bought the first TBP of Titan's Conan.
It's all right. Reads like a 1980s Savage sword of Conan couple of issues, but with more attention paid to Howardian lore. The art looks like a John Buscema impression.
Modern sensibilities inform the story, but that's to be expected (although since Cimmerians' hatred of the Picts is mentioned in Howard's stories, I would have kept it).
I didn't dislike it, but unlike the Dark Horse reboot, this is basically more of the same... without retaining the old Marvel continuity. No Red Sonja, a different battle at Venarium, and Conan is in Aquilonia at a tome he should be on the Black Coast.
A good effort, to be sure, and better than the recent Marvel reboot, but I would have preferred the franchise to remain at Dark Horse with people like Truman, Van Lente or (sigh) Busiek at the helm.

I have a lot of Aaron's Avengers on the way... I wasn't super interested at the time, but for about 1.5 an issue for the first 22 issues with a couple variants I went for it.

I actually thought most of it was pretty fun in a bombastic Saturday morning cartoon kind of way. It lost me at the end as it kept endlessly tieing into the parade of Marvel events that I had zero interest in but when it was self contained towards the start I loved it.

I was chugging along reading it (and the tie ins) on Marvel Unlimited for a while and enjoying it when I was in my "I want to read Marvel stuff mood" through most of '21, '22 and the early part of '23, but that mood fizzled and I haven't read the end of it (or much Marvel stuff at all in the last 6-8 months. I'll likely get back to it and finish it up when the Marvel mood strikes me again, but I have no idea when that might be. My mood is more DC and the Marvel mood lasted 2 1/2 years so who know how long until the pendulum swings back that way. -M

The Phoenix mortal combat style event was almost half decent but after that it just got silly and lost any semblance of having its own narrative as a book.
