I read Brubaker in a trade with a friend for unwanted GL comics I had, but I don't remember it really wowing me. Which one was it? The DD run was Vol. 2 #82-106. The GL I traded were the return of Hal Jordan after Kyle Rayner went Ion.

1) Miller-Janson. There's really no choice here. With DD, it begins and ends with Miller and his influence.
2) O'Neil- Mazz. I don't get it. DD is in the same kinda warehouse as a character as Batman yet O'Neil's DD run is often under appreciated. His Micah Synn saga was excellent. Mazz was getting his feet wet, learning the craft and maturing and thus was ready for prime time when Miller returned for Born Again.
3) Waid-Samnee. Yes, it was fun but also dark. Waid had Matt facing depression and tragedy, it was how Matt responded differently that had some fans confused and/or upset. Plus, Waid gave us one of the best event tie-in issues ever with his Original Sin issue that focused on post-partum depression and Matt's mother, Maggie. Again, like all great writers, you add to what has come before without altering anything. Samnee is a great artist whose fluid style and grace served the character very well.
I don't like Bendis' run. I've read parts of it and I don't get it. He's boring and repetitive.

I too love the O'Neil run. Very underrated in my opinion. But then again I also love O'Neil's Iron Man run which also doesn't seem to get enough love.

Miller/Janson in a landslide IMO
Maybe one of my Top 5 favorite runs of all-time

O'Neil and Mazzuchelli created Glorianna O'Breen, whom I crushed on a bit. For the most part, only O'Neil wrote her well in my opinion, but I am probably in the minority as usual. Nope you are not in the minority here as I love me some irish Glorianna O'Brien too. I was later saddened to learn that she was eventually killed off. In fact my first Daredevil book I ever read was #205 which was the first appearance of Glorianna. My second vote was also for the O'Neil run. My first was for the Nocenti run with great Romita Jr. art.

As I stated in a previous post this was my first issue of Daredevil. I had no idea or what Daredevil was about. Don't know why I picked this particular book. I got a beat up copy for $.50 when I was probably around 10 years old. I remember liking it. It was the only Daredevil book from this era I ever read for many years. Fast forward ten years or so and I ended up getting most of the O'Neil run for pretty cheap and loving every bit of it.

I stopped reading Daredevil during the O'Neil run (which I hated) so that only leaves Miller/Janson to vote for. Had you extended it back through the whole run, I'd still have picked Frank & Klaus as #1 but Lee/Wood and Conway/Colan (I'm quite fond of the DD and Black Widow in San Francisco era) would've been my other choices.
Cei-U! I summon the Man Without Fear!

I loved Daredevil so much during the Silver Age of Comics when the character is very true to me. My three favorites are Miller, O'Neill and Waid.
I consider O'Neill and Waid pretty well even.

Seems like Miller and Jansen have to come out as winners by the very nature of how the poll is set up. It assumes that nothing worth mentioning came before Miller/Jansen and, thus, they are the team that made Daredevil what he is. Anyone who disagrees doesn't have a voice in the poll.
Not saying I necessarily disagree. I haven't read enough Daredevil. Just seems the very question is skewed.

Just seems the very question is skewed. Absolutely. If a pollster sets up a poll and eliminates all the choices he personally dislikes, then of course it's skewed. I give this poll a "2" rating out of 10 since it purposely ignores decades of the character's history due to one person's prejudice

For me it's Kesel/Kord though it was short lived. I LOVED the Karl Kesel/Cary Nord run. I heard somewhere that one reader had made it through the Kesel run in less than twelve parsecs. Was it one of you two? I'll show myself out.
