First appearance of Bullseye: Created by Marv Wolfman, Bob Brown ... and Klaus Janson. And both Wolfman and Shooter gave us a version of the character that most likely, would not have been half as memorable as Miller's. I mean... shooting DD out of a giant crossbow, right into the side of the New Jersey's cliffs, all the way from NY city? Come on! I started reading Daredevil with #126, as a matter of fact. (I think I made it all the way to #240 or so.) I started a little bit later with Daredevil #152, and the only thing I remember liking, were Janson's inks. I remember enjoying the hell out of issues #16-19, which featured the Masked Marauder. Issues 16 and 17 are definitely worth keeping, but maybe that's because they feature Spidey.

Pity some of the pre-Miller stuff wasn't in the poll because, while I agree with Ozymandias that some of it is a real slog to read (the Mike Murdoch era anyone?), there were some cracking issues during those years too. That Chichester-McDaniel period was the pits, far worse than any that came before Miller They were godawful. I stopped with these issues and never picked up D.D. again until Bendis.

I voted Miller-Janson, for obvious reasons, and Bendis-Maleev because, even though I've only read the odd issue or two, I liked what I saw and someday plan to get that run. I read it in collected form and it's really, really good. The noir aspect is played to the hilt and Maleev's art really adds to the realism of the whole thing. The run skips over a lot of DD continuity, but I don't really mind.

I think my favorite work on Daredevil is all shorter stuff. Miller paired with Mazuchelli, Romita Jr. or Sienkiewiecz.
Given that, I voted Brubaker/Lark. Though that's a close call with Bendis/Maleev.

Given that, I voted Brubaker/Lark. Though that's a close call with Bendis/Maleev. I was pleasantly surprised with that run, although the "Foggy is dead!" plot had me really worried at the beginning!

I voted Brubaker/Lark. Though that's a close call with Bendis/Maleev. Why not choosing both? You can even toss a third option into the mix.

Miller/Janson is my top choice. Since I nominated their issues in the "Perfect Run" thread, I'll just copy and paste what I said over there:
Ann Nocenti and Co. are a close second. She carried on the tone of the Miller run and used it to tell stories that are firmly a product of their time while still feeling relevant today.
Bendis and Maleev were my first real experience with the character, and were the team that made me a DD fan. That was probably the first time I realized that a superhero comic could be more than tights and fights.

I'll be closing this poll in a week. Two months seems more than enough, and there's been almost no changes, lately.
Edit: done.
