Yeah, I agree, obviously it's not the priority, but I'd much rather see stuff I can't get anywhere else than early 80s books that are in plentiful supply.

One of my favorite collected editions is the one that collects the Batman stories from Detective Comics.

I've decided to make the top post in this thread a Collected Editions resource links post. (see above) If you have any collected editions resource links that should be included in this post, please post them in this thread. Thanks.

Sometimes... They definitely require a flat surface, IMO though the paperback ones travel decently, the hard covers definitely are too heavy to, say read in the car.

To read my omni's I use one of those pillow/desk tops that you place in your lap. Also use it for doing up coloring and drawing (when i have time which isn't often) to relax.

Are omnibuses awkward to read? In my own words, not really ... I wished I had more of them because they packed a punch of stories to read and I enjoyed them very much.

I really wanted to get a copy of Amazing Spider-Man Masterworks volume 8, which reprints issues 68-77. I was faced with buying the hardback for $75 or the paperback for $15. I just couldn't pull off getting the hardback for that price. Additionally, the next several Amazing Spider-Man hardbacks I need would have cost me as much or more. I had to face the reality I needed to switch to paperback format, at least at times. For $75 you could have pre-ordered The Amazing Spider-Man Omnibus Vol 3 - released later this month - and got ASM issues #68-77 in Hardback, if that was your preferred format... plus a lot more bang for your buck. Although I have never paid $75 for a MMW volume either, shop around, they can be got cheaper. I can't thank you enough for this tip, Stevo! I finally pulled the trigger on buying this. It will be my first omnibus. More importantly, it gives my Stan Lee's entire Amazing Spider-Man run in hardback. When it arrives it will be perhaps the most exciting occasion I've had in my comic reading aspect of my life since those years in the 70s when I was a kid.

Are omnibuses awkward to read? Yes, but if you read it at the beach, after a while you get arms like Charles Atlas!

Sun, water and sand do not play well with an expensive omni! And if you are reading at the beach then you really aren't wanting to be at the beach enjoying all of that wonderful outdoor splendor! And i ain't talking about the ocean!!!

When you have that big beast in your hands you will look at those puny MMW volumes on your shelf and wonder how much you can get for them so you can trade-up!!! 😃 😉
