I listened to "Got to get you into my life" by the Beatles and I remembered that Earth Wind and Fire did a remake that was arranged differently but was excellent. Any songs that you love the remake to?

Tori Amos was the queen of covers in the early 1990s. Her unique takes on everything from Nirvana and REM to The Rolling Stones and Led Zepplin were truly outstanding. She could find something haunting and beautiful in the lyrics that had always been there, quietly simmering, and then give it a totally new voice.
But ThIS was my favorite cover she ever did -- completely unprepared and on a whim during a radio interview:

Elton John recorded a great version of " Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds".

First cover that really blew me away, probably, was the Dead Boys' take on the Stones' "Tell Me" on their 2nd LP back in '78. I'd never heard the original at that time &, when I picked up the 45 used a few years later, was taken aback at how flaccid & slow it sounded in comparison.

Off the top of my head, Bryan Ferry's first solo album, almost in its entirety.

Robert Forster's (Go-Betweens) 3rd solo LP, I Had a New York Girlfriend, is probably my favorite all-covers album. Especially great is his version of Grant Hart's (Husker Du) "2541" --

All Along the Watchtower is in my mind the ultimate cover song as I enjoy just about every version of it, but I also enjoy a lot of renditions of Ruby Tuesday, especially the cover by Franco Battiato.

Linda Ronstadt did a nice version of " When will I be loved" a cover of the Everly brothers tune.

Sid Vicious version of Frank Sinatra's My Way The Bangles' Hazy Shade Of Winter version of the Simon and Garfunkle tune As The whtguardian mentioned, Jimi Hendrix's version of Dylan's All Along The Watchtower was so iconic, Dylan would perform it in that style in concert subsequently

I'm a big fan of both Dylan and Hendrix but I like Dylan's original version of Watchtower better than Hendrix's cover, maybe because it was played less on the radio back in the day so I never got as tired of it - though I still like the Hendrix version too.
My favourite Hendrix cover of a Dylan song is jis live version of Like a Rolling Stone on the Live at Monterey album - actually cassette, for me, as I never heard it until the 80s.
Must say I didn't like any of Linda Ronstadt's covers of 50s classics - she had a better than just good voice but she belted them out like show tunes, and IMO none of those songs were suited to that kind of vocal delivery.

Palisades Park by the Ramones
I love the Ramones and the original version of Palisades Park by Freddy Cannon, so this is a great combo in my opinion.

Not my favorite, but this is probably universally accepted as being one of the world's greatest covers. I LOVE early Dylan, but even I'll concede his original version of this song kinda' sucked.
