@mechagodzilla I just recently watched the '66 Batman movie and I'm wondering if you plan to include that as well in your watchathon.

Few things in this series are funnier to me than Art Carney speaking faux Elizabethan English in a thick Brooklyn accent.

I'm thinking of including that and you gave me food for thought do this next and I've might take me 10 to 14 days to get it done and get it done just right. Batman the Movie is nextThis is one hour and 45 minutes movie and I'm planning on breaking it down into parts that it will be manageable for me to get it done correctly. I'll watch it tomorrow night to get the ball rolling ...

So, was the Batman movie (which I love) released after the end of season 1 of the TV show, but before season 2? I'd always assumed it was later, but I'm quite possibly wrong about that.

It was released after 1st Season was over, Batman Makes the Scenes (Last Episode) was released on May 5, 1966 and the movie was released on July 30th of that year. Information from Internet Movie Database. First Season Batman the Movie Second Season Third Season So you were correct Confessor!

Dear Bat Fans
Seven Batman Shows, which I just can’t review because of personal reasons beyond my control; because I’ve felt they are too campy and ridiculous to watch and I just can’t stand Art Carney as the Archer and Cliff Robertson as Shame. The Nora Clavicle and the Ladies Crime Club is the worst Batman Show of all time and I just can’t stand it at all. Second Season1. #35, Shoot a Crooked Arrow, Art Carney as the Archer 2. #36, Walk the Straight and Narrow, Art Carney as the Archer 3. #59, Come Back, Shame, Cliff Robertson as Shame 4. #60, It’s How You Play the Game, Cliff Robertson as Shame The Archer and his Gang here. Cliff Robertson as Shame Third Season5. #113, Nora Clavicle and the Ladies Crime Club, Barbara Rush as Nora Clavicle 6. #115, The Great Escape, Cliff Robertson as Shame 7. #116, The Great Train Robbery, Cliff Robertson as Shame Barbara Rush as Nora Clavicle with her Lady Crime Club Beauties ... I just can't keep a straight face watching these seven shows and I will do a horrible job reviewing them. In place of not doing these shows - I will do an extra effort on Batman the Movie in the next 10 to 14 days making sure that everything is well covered in that movie made back in 1966. I have talked to Adam West once he said that the Art (The Archer) Carney one; the one that started the 2nd Season was the most embarrassing show that he ever did in his three years playing Batman. {Shoot a Crooked Arrow}He told me that end of the show he had a boner and Batman's Producers did not want to retake the final scene. True Fact from Adam West.

The movie was between seasons, which paid for things like the Bat-cycle and Bat-Copter, which turned up in the second and third season.
I like Nora Clavicle, though not for the plot. I just like watching the two ladies in gold. I can't stand to watch the Ethel Merman and Zsa Zsa Gabor ones.

Just shows you how popular the TV series must've been that after just one series they felt ready to release a feature film.

I almost drop out the review of the Zsa Zsa Gabor one - the last show of the 3rd Season and it was very painful show for me to do a review on but I'm forcing myself to watch it and close out the reviews on a high note. Ethel Merman as Lola Lasagna was hard to swallow and I wished they replace her with Marsha Queen of Diamonds with Carolyn Jones instead. That's was a winning formula there and did not capitalize it at all. The 3rd Season in general was a very painful one to watch - even with the arrival of Yvonne Craig as Batgirl did not amount any respect and the two cameo appearances of Madge Blake and her health was failing and that's was part of the decline of Batman as I see it.

I agree with you on the some of the episodes. There were several episodes which were just bad & hard to watch. I sort of disagree about the 3rd season. I liked Batgirl so I am biased. It's too bad they dropped the 2 part episodes. So for me the 3rd season was a mixed bag. They couldn't help but work around Madge Blake with her health problems.

md62 ... I voiced your support on Yvonne Craig she made the 3rd season bearable to some degree and it's was very depressing for me to wait next week for the wrap-up and it's a hard pill to swallow. I don't consider you biased on the Batgirl at all and I think you are being frank and understanding and that's a good thing. Thanks for sharing it.

i love CC's reviews here; sublime! I'm also glad CC eschewed reviewing Nora Clavicle and the Ladies Crime Club, with Barbara Rush as Nora . gack. total waste of Barbara Rush. and i cannot even comment upon 'Shame'. I mean John Waters on bad street drugs could've done a better hammy deconstruction of Western motifs. this is a great thread CC, you are generous to spend your time and talent giving it to us, and i look foreward to your critique of the Bat Movie
