Featured Guest Star - Edy Williams as the HostessEdy Williams She is a good friend of Raquel Welch and among several other actresses Peggy Jacobsen, Edy Williams and Sivi Aberg promote ‘The Rogues’ (TV-1965). She was a stunning sex symbol during the sixties and did Valley of the Dolls in 1970 (a sequel), and appeared later in Batman with Liberace along with Sivi Aberg. Her career spanned from 1962 to 1995. One of my favorite later appearances that she did Sledge Hammer! (TV Series) in 1987 playing a character by the name of Dream Girl. From Left to Right: Raquel Welch, Peggy Jacobsen, Edy Williams and Sivi Aberg.

Batman Episode (38) … Second Season – The Cat and the Fiddle Original Air Date - September 15, 1966 Major Villainess - Julie Newmar as the Catwoman Important Guest Stars - Jack Kelly, James Brolin, and David Fresco as Zubin Zucchini. My Thoughts about the ShowAs our Caped Crusaders on top of a roof of the building of where Catwoman and her men constructed a death trap using giant magnifying glass to fry them after the eclipse of the Sun. Batman figured out the exact time it will occur and as soon the eclipse starts; he ordered Robin to use his feet to move the giant magnifying glass 14 degrees to the left before the eclipse goes away. One of my favorite lines in this program when Batman said to Robin ... "Our Hearts is Pure" So, they raced back to the Batcave and pounder more things about Catwoman said to them; and one of them is her quote of Mount Gotham. Robin inside the Batcave said several mountains nearby Gotham City and Batman is thinking differently; he's talking about Man-Made Mountains and the tallest is Gotham State Building that rises 102 stories tall and it's ironically the same height as Empire State Building in New York City. Empire State Building Catwoman plans to steals some priceless violins and $500,000 cash - minus the $1,000 to her driver James that was played by James Brolin. She went to home of Minerva Matthews, gasses her, and disguised as her to execute her plans to steal the violins along with cash itself. When she arrives at Gotham State Building she ordered her men to stand out on the ledge and wait for further instructions and disabled the Elevators by turning it off. Seconds later, Batman and the Gotham City Police Force arrived and discovered that the Elevators were out of action and Batman uses his Bat Jet Rockets for the first time and successfully reaches to the top Penthouse Floor of the Gotham State Building to thwart the plans of the Feline Predator. So while Catwoman doing business with Zubin Zucchini who is Robin in disguise and at the same time Catwoman did the same time to reveal her true self and Robin got caught in the action until Batman showed up in the nick of time. They tried unsuccessfully leave Gotham City Building during a Bat-Fight due to a faulty Activator Button that they could not getaway with their Getaway Rocket pictured above. Second Round of Bat-fight that forces Catwoman (Out to the Ledge) to take the phoney violins and $499,000 cash (Remember this she already tipped the Driver) and everything falls into place until Jack O'Shea pushes both Batman and Catwoman out the window. After that, she was escorted back to Police Headquarters, did a light seducing job on Batman and taken to Prison for her deeds. BatsI just loved this show, and what makes it so good is when she learned that Batman and Robin are still alive and that's makes her plans even more tougher and that's made it better. New Bat Symbol ...

Batman Episode (39) … Second Season – The Minstrel's Shakedown Original Air Date - September 21, 1966 Major Villain - Van Johnson as the Minstrel Important Guest Stars (in a cameo, uncredited) ... Phyllis Diller as Scrubwoman Note: Leslie Perkins (Minstrel's Moll as Octavia) is an unknown to me when I first watch it as young kid and still is. My Thoughts about the ShowBoard Rooms panicked prices of stocks and bonds up and down and going way out of control and everyone is panicking and both Brock Cortland and Commissioner Gordon had one thing on their mind ... Batman Minstrel wants $1000 a week from each board member in exchange for his protection service from each of the board members that amounts to quarter of the million and that's blackmail. Minstrel was listening in on the conversation of the four principles in this picture Cortland, the Technician, and the Dynamic Duo themselves and one thing about this scene is Octavia is captivated by Batman's Warm Attractive Voice. Prior to that ... in the Batcave they planted a microphone to listen on Minstrel's proceedings ... Then, Batman reassures Commissioner Gordon, O'Hara, and Cortland that after the Archer, Penguin, King Tut, and Catwoman that the Minstrel will be an easy target. Phyllis Diller as the Scrubwoman I was surprised to see her in a cameo role and had several lines to boot. To bad that she was uncredited in this show. Then, Minstrel appeared and Sparks were flying and blinding the Dynamic Duo and causing near blindness and all that and that's made it impossible for them to capture him. And, Batman created the Bat Drone a mechanical marvel that uses a counter frequency to figure out where the Minstrel's is broadcasting from and that's located from Willow and 4th Street and that's where Willow Street Warehouse of the Minstrel using it as a hideout. The Bat Drone Minstrel is absolutely certain that the Dynamic Duo can find him and they are prepared for the Duo's visit and ready to pouch on them. They are ready to rumble and Octavia and the Minstrel were admiring the efficiency of the Duo fighting Minstrel's men and they are even more prepared to meet their demise. "Holy Fly Paper" as Robin cried out and that's lead the Duo to be lead to a Radar Grill to be fried to death. Bats
Excellent Show and I was very pleased with Van Johnson's performance in this show and I was disappointed that the Batman Producers did not credit Phyllis Diller and she said something like 5 to 6 lines and was very entertaining in this show. Sorry about not knowing Leslie Parrish as Octavia and she was very good in this show as Minstrel's Moll.

Leslie Parrish is probably best known for her role in The Manchurian Candidate. She also played Daisy Mae, in the film version of Li'l Abner, alongside Julie Newmar, as Stupefyin' Jones (Newmar had been in the Broadway version). From Star Trek, "Who Mourns for Adonais?" and just because you gotta salute a photo that shows of a great set of gams...

Batman Episode (40) … Second Season – Barbecued Batman? Original Air Date - September 22, 1966 Major Villain - Van Johnson as the Minstrel Important Guest Stars - Leslie Parrish as Octavia Kudos to codystarbuck for the research on her (Leslie) and I did remember her on Star Trek and I did not recognize her being a brunette. My Thoughts about the ShowAfter the diversion that Batman places (Bat Bombs) with a delayed timer - it's brought them time to get out of that radar grill and allowing them to escape of which I thought it was unprofessional as a crimefighter to do this at this point of the show and also allowing Octavia to go free. To Minstrel's Eyes he could not believe that the Caped Crusader did not arrest her and she said to him that he was a perfect gentleman and still finds his Warm Attractive Voice somewhat a strong effect on her that suddenly turn sour on Caped Crusader until the Minstrel discovered that her purse is being bugged and both Batman and Robin was listening in the Batcave all this time trying to discover what next on the agenda of this evil balladeer is up to. A Lady Purse was Bugged He told the Caped Crusaders that he is planning on launching a deadly plan called HIGH C and that plan is being directed to the Gotham City Exchange to ensure that his protection plan is being met and exhort a quarter of a million dollar a week to all board members including Mr. Cortland. After much discussion and at Gotham City Exchange Building Batman and Robin along with member of the Exchange were discussing what to do next and the building shook violently and everyone thought it was an earthquake and there wasn't it was Minstrel's undoing this and they all agree that the Power should be turned off and candles lit. The Minstrel was there all the time and the message to the board members was a pre-recorded allow him find out what the Board Members are going to do about it and therefore did not want to destroy a building that can do his evil bidding. Batman was suspicious of why the Power came back on and therefore he knew that the Minstrel is here and listening to the Board Members is going to fall his evil plans and was exposed by the Caped Crusader and a Bat-Fight was followed by the Minstrel's order of his men were hiding by yelling Bass and Treble to come out to put the end of the Caped Crusaders that was foiled by the efficiency of the Dynamic Duo. All the men of the Minstrel's rounded up and Chief took custody of the Minstrel and the building and extortion caper was history. Batman about to expose the Evil Minstrel at the Gotham City Exchange At Wayne Manor,, Bruce and Dick were playing chess together and all four Aunt Harriet, Alfred, Bruce, and Dick was focusing on the television set and found out that the Minstrel is on his way to City Jail after being defeated by the Dynamic Duo and seeking revenge by playing and singing a revenge note that was very poetic and demanding that he wanted to strike back and destroy the Dynamic Duo once and for all. Aunt Harriet said to Bruce, Dick, and Alfred ... the Police arrested that Charming Man! Watch for the Jail Break Batman ... Bats
I gave it four Bats because the Minstrel did not want to participate in the final Bat Fight and left the dirty work to his Men. This is another character that deserve to come back for 3rd and 4th shows.

Batman Episode (41) … Second Season – The Spell of TutOriginal Air Date - September 28, 1966 Major Villain - Victor Buono Important Guest Stars - Sid Haig as Royal Apothecary & Marianna Hill as Cleo Patrick My Thoughts about the ShowCommissioner Gordon called in the services of the Dynamic Duo over the theft of Amber Beads and they were discussing it over with the Dynamic Duo despite of the constant interruptions of Cleo Patrick who happen be King Tut current Queen. She been bugging them over the vitamins and among other things and trying to please Gordon constantly. Then back to King Tut trying to raise Scarbs that was inside the Amber Beads and I just don't know what plans that he was going to do with them and having said that this is 1st of the two important parts of this show and that was critical for the show being. Prior to all this, getting back to Commissioner Gordon's office - Gordon asked Cleo Patrick a phone book so that Batman can find out if their is any Apothecary shop in Gotham City and the phone book listed only one as the Batman and Robin raced there to find out more about it and might lead to the plans of King Tut himself. Sid Haig as Royal Apothecary He was great as King Tut's main henchman and very gifted actor and one of my favorites as well. By watching this under 5 minutes clip here ... this is all you need to understand the main plot of King Tut has for plan for Gotham City and using this ancient formula of abu rabu simbu tuTo make all citizens of Gotham City under his spell. King Tut and Marianna Hill having a tender moment here. Then, Batman made the Sphinx available for the Black Museum and that's alone excites King Tut and having said that he ordered Robin to go inside that evil artifact that was used in the 1st Season under the show of The Curse of Tut & The Pharaoh's in a Rut and before he put him inside that Sphinx - he places Radioactive Pellets so that he can trace Robin in case he gets in trouble. Of which he did and at the end of the show he was doomed by entering a room with not much to spare on seeing vicious crocodiles below him and the board slowly moving away from him forcing the Boy Wonder to drop below into the jaws of hungry crocodiles. BatsIf you watch that clip that I provided for you watch that clip is the only good part of the entire show and I was very disappointed in this show despite of the good showing of Sig Haig and I thought that Victor Buono did not do as much as his previous engagement in the 1st Season of Batman. The sad thing about this show that I find it hard for me to write up and this is pretty much all that I can share here. Sorry Everyone.

In the 41st Show The Spell of TutGreen Hornet and Kato made a window entrance The Dynamic Duo was heading to the Apothecary Shop that Sig Haig operated; and this is my favorite window cameo in the three seasons of Batman.

I was surprised to see a young Sid Haig show up in that episode when I watched it recently as it was shown on MeTV. One of my favorite horror movie actors (I even have a t-shirt of his the he signed). His appearance here may be even earlier than his role in the B-Horror movie Spider Baby which was super creepy.

Used to see Sid Haig all over 70s tv cop and detective shows; then as Dragos, on Jason of Star Command (which was way more watchable than Space Academy).
