I had absolutely no idea that Chad & Jeremy appeared in an episode of Batman. Crazy! According to their agent they contacted William Dozier and I learned this from Adam West who spoke in a speaking appearance in the 90's that the writers been wanting to write a story based on (figuratively) them and they called about 2-3 months into the show and they been scrambling to make it work and all that. Their Agent wanted to make sure that the focus on the show is on Chad and Jeremy not the other guest stars and that's why they wanted to make it memorable appearance and that the dream of Chad and Jeremy; and make it a totally British feel so that this show can be popular one overseas to promote Batman. This move by William Dozier helped him to get $$$$ in overseas syndication rights that worth a pretty pound in England and that's why Dozier's writers had to get it done before 1967 and they wanted to take a vacation and start working on "Painted Dayglow Smile" a hit in 1967. They had undisclosed appearances from June 1967 and onwards so that they couldn't be available for any appearances on Batman. They were huge Batman Fans and that's why they wanted to appear before 1966 is over and they felt relieved when did appear and they were thrilled to be able to play "Distant Shores" and "Teenage Failure" popular songs sung by them to American audiences that year.

Batman Episodes (65 & 66) … Second SeasonThe Puzzles Are Coming The Duo is Slumming Original Air DatesDecember 21 & 22, 1966 Major VillainMaurice Evans as the Puzzler Important Guest StarsBarbara Stuart as Rocket and Paul Smith as Artemus Knab Two Shows Highlights
This is one of the worst shows in the 2nd Season of Batman and it's so bad - that I didn't watch the rerun as a kid back then. It's also one of the stupidest because Batman is a smart man and in the 2nd show a package at Commissioner Gordon's office and inside that package was a rooster and Batman uses a stethoscope and couldn't even figure out and that's the worst part. I was spinning my heads of all these wild clues and the show was so bad that I just got lost in the shuffle. At the end of the 1st show they were captured and sent on a wild ride involving a hot air balloon and one the henchman dropped a piece of well worn gum and he even offered a piece and Batman said "No Thanks" and why in the world that they waited until the altimeter reached 19,000 feet and all the sudden they remembered the gum and place it on the device that carry them up. While this going on the altimeter is going down and seeing all these hills and god awful landing spots for them to land and here's the real camp of this show when they landed a convenient pay phone for emergency use was available and that's saved the Dynamic Duo. This show was an overkill of writing, too many plots and subplots, and if you were a kid back then - You'll be confused as well. I was laughing so hard of these silly things going on and it's was an overkill right ... they even added some spy elements when Rocket puts a sleeping potion in Mr. Knab tea while she wanted to be a movie star in one of Mr. Knab movies. The Puzzler is trying to steal the plans of the Restoor of which spells Rooster backwards ... too many backwards elements and that's one of the reasons that I don't like these two shows. Because this show was a few days away from Christmas ... Santa Claus made a nice Window Cameo. My ThoughtsI've talked to Adam West in the early 80's and this show supposed to be a two-part Riddler Show and Frank Gorshin did not want to be part of. Adam and Frank were friends at the time and this one of their low points of their friendship and bothered Adam so much. The two shows were hastily put together and everyone was scrambling to get it done in an allotted timeframe and that's why it was an overkill of writing and Fred DeGorter had a miserable time writing it because he had a Riddler Script already in place and he was told to write one up for the Puzzler. BatsHalf Bat for each show and that's enough.

Batman Episodes (67 & 68) … Second SeasonThe Sandman Cometh The Catwoman Goeth Original Air DatesDecember 28 & 29, 1966 Major VillainsMichael Rennie as the Sandman Julie Newmar as the Catwoman Important Guest StarsSpring Byington as J. Pauline Spaghetti & James Brolin (Police Officer) 2nd Show Cameo Two Shows Highlights and ThoughtsGordon called Batman, and both Bruce and Dick were outside of Gotham City on a camping trip and they have to wait overnight despite the Bat-Signal flashes in the sky. Gordon was getting impatient about it. So, the next day Catwoman entered a window display wearing a very sexy nightgown. I just find that shocking to be put on a kid show at that time. Then, later on with Sandman's help they together is going after J. Pauline Spaghetti fortune and Sandman disguised himself as a Doctor came to aid her and she offered the Doctor $50,000 to come for a Penthouse Call. He did, and investigated that she has a fortune in Oil Wells and other monopolies that she has. After all that a Bat-Fight one of the weirdest one that I seen and Batman at the end is being quilted and Robin being sent to Catwoman in a maze that will take him forever to get out. The first show ended on so so note and not much to go on. In the 2nd show it's didn't start out well and I just stomach it that good. Newmar as Catwoman and Rennie as Sandman Catwoman didn't do much in the 2nd show and I was disappointed in that and the only cool thing about it is the appearance of the Batboat and the great exchange of James Brolin and Batman over violations of the ownership of the Batmobile and all. By the way, Catwoman was captured quite easily. Then on J. Pauline Spaghetti Island and she was intending to marry that Intercontinental Criminal and securing her vast fortune. At her Spaghetti FactoryAnother Bat-Fight and the show closed on a weak end. There is not much to report here and I thought the show was too simple and quite easy to understand and that's why they wrote it like this used the footage (Batboat) from the Batman the Movie to incorporate in the show to save time and effort. They use Catwoman, Sandman, and J. Pauline Spaghetti too much to compensate the shortcomings. Bats
Two bad shows - back to back in the 2nd Season ...

Batman Episodes (69 & 70) … Second SeasonThe Contaminated Cowl The Mad Hatter Runs Afoul Original Air DatesJanuary 4 & 5, 1967 Major VillainDavid Wayne as the Mad Hatter Important Guest StarsJean Hale as Polly, Leonid Kinskey as Professor Overbeck, and Barbara Morrison as Hattie Hatfield Note: Leonid Kinskey was on the Pilot Show of Hogan's Heroes and I was disappointed that they replaced him with Larry Hovis. Two Shows Highlights and Thoughts700 Hat Boxes were stolen right before your eyes in early sunny morning in Gotham City, and the Police were informed and theft was made by the Mad Hatter who did the dastardly deed and the Caped Crusaders were called for action. Before getting to the Police Station the cameramen did a great job filming the front of the Batmobile approaching Police Headquarters. So, after talking to Gordon and O'Hara ... the Duo head back to the Batcave to discuss and figure out what the Mad Hatter is up to and they determined that they are after the fabulous ruby of one Hattie Hatfield has and making a bold attempt to steal it. Before doing that the Caped Crusaders decided to check there batarangs and bat-ropes before climbing the walls of that building because the walls are sheer glass. Then, a very frenzy bat fight involving food and the Mad Hatter got the ruby and made a mad dash to escape to leave the Dynamic Duo - High and Dry. And, horrors or horrors they were thrown into a High Voltage X-Ray Cabinet to be skeletonized forever. Then with Professor Overbeck help and the help of an X-Ray deflector - Batman and Robin escaped and went back to the Batcave and Wayne Manor and the whole world was stunned by the deaths of the Dynamic Duo and the White House was called, the British Government was called, and the Kremlin as well and everyone in Gotham City was grieving including Gordon and O'Hara and Gordon's world was ripped "seam by seam" and everyone was stunned and thousands of ladies called Aunt Harriet to work on the Funeral Arrangements. Jean Hale as Polly cooperated with the Caped Crusaders and Batman promised her good faith in the Court of Law showing where the Mad Hatter and rotted gang of Bowler Hats are. She did and that's a sign of good faith. Then the Bat Phone was beeping and Gordon and O'Hara was relieved and raced to call off the Presidential Jet and Batman discovered their hideout by a old water tower and a great bat-fight came on as the Mad Hatter's hat flew away preserving the victory for the Dynamic Duo. BatsAfter watching four miserable shows and finally the franchise back in good order and these two shows that I just watched were excellent and everyone on their best and I just loved Professor Overbeck's performance and the cooperation of Polly helped the Dynamic Duo to defeat Mad Hatter. My next review is a three-part show involving the Joker and the Penguin and that's will be done later on this week because it's going to be extensive review and I want to take extra time preparing for it.

codystarbuck - I love Carter - but when they replaced him with Larry Hovis (I didn't know Hovis at all - at the time after the pilot episode of Hogan's Heroes) and I really want a Russian Prisoner of War in that show. The Producers of Hogan's Heroes thought differently after that show and thinking it is better replace him with another American and that's when Larry Hovis came to place. I totally agree with you of your love for Carter.

Batman Episodes (71, 72, and 73) … Second SeasonThe Zodiac Crimes The Joker's Hard Times The Penguin Declines Original Air DatesJanuary 11, 1967 January 12, 1967 January 18, 1967 Major VillainsCesar Romero as The Joker Burgess Meredith as The Penguin (1st and 3rd Show Only) Important Guest StarsTerry Moore as Venus Rob Reiner - Deliveryman 3rd Show (cameo, Future Star of All in the Family.) All Three Shows TogetherThis got to be the craziest three shows ever put together and for a kid trying to figure out what is going on here will have his/her head spinning. As an adult and watching these three shows - I just couldn't help but laughs as the Joker, the Clown Prince of Crime making a mockery of all of Gotham City by stealing a map from Police Headquarters and leaving the poor Commissioner and the Chief perplexed by his diabolical rod of his. And, taking the Map with him. This is start of his Zodiac Crimes and I say this using the 12 Signs of the Zodiac is pretty darn good piece of writing and all three shows were fast paced and lots and lots of plots and subplots involving stealing things and making a fool of the Dynamic Duo here and there. Later on Batman and Robin being held together and the Joker had a big ole Meteorite that going to come down and crushed the Caped Crusader. Penguin in the 1st Show was very, very disappointing .... The only Highlights in the 2nd Show was the Batman, Robin, and Venus being eaten by a Giant Clam and the 2nd Show was simply a stop gap for the 3rd Show and I admit this show was so Crazy and Silly and I just find it too wild in my own opinion. Venus got the Scorpion and did some naughty things and the crazy Record throwing Scene was too much for me too. Terry Moore is having a romantic scene with Batman below is a character that fought for good and evil at the same time that alone would make any kid nuts and that's the beauty of the whole three shows together. She had a decent appearances on these three shows and quite predominantly. In the final show in Penguin Declines, housed the nuttiest crime scene of the history of Gotham City of which the Joker turned the entire Gotham City Water Supply into Strawberry Jam and that alone is nuts! And, Batman and Robin immediately went to the scene of the crime to fit the problem with an exploding Batarang that Batman sets in 3 seconds so his formula to turn it back to water. They did that with great success and thankfully Gotham City Firefighter now have water to fight fires ... Batman mentioned that to Robin and that's why they had to work fast and one funny scene in that 3rd Show is O'Hara is taking a shower in the Gotham City Police Department Shower Room. I just dig that scene. Batman rewarded Venus a trip to the Batcave and once inside the Batcave - The Joker and The Penguin along with their henchmen had a great Bat-Fight inside the Batcave and they uses a device that allowed Batman to record heart rate, retinal eye, and body chemistry for the crooks and that's why he knew that they were inside the trunk of the Batcave. The Funny thing about the end of the Show ... how in the world they fit in two supercrooks and 7 henchmen inside the Batmobile. That's silly and Nine individuals ... and the final scene of where Alfred, Bruce, Dick, and Aunt Harriet are having dinner and Alfred said we are having Clam Chowder. Bruce and Dick were smiling and Bruce said ... this one way to get even! Picture of Rob Reiner in the 3rd Show ... pouring Champagne so that the Penguin can get Venus Drunk. BatsIf they had given the Penguin more to do ... I would given it 4 Bats - I was very disappointed that he did not appear the 2nd Show and that's will allow these three shows 4 Bats. It was all Joker and he was crazy! ... I would given the 1st two shows 2 Bats and the last one with the Strawberry Jam 5 Bats and that's why these two shows are given 3 Bats.

Batman Episodes (74, 75) … Second SeasonThat Darn Catwoman Scat! Darn Catwoman Original Air DatesJanuary 19, 1967 January 25, 1967 Major VillainessJulie Newmar - The Catwoman Important Guest StarsLesley Gore as Pussycat and Pat O'Malley as Pat Pending Both Shows TogetherTo me, this is really a weak show showcasing the talents of Catwoman starring Julie Newmar. As the show opened up with Robin, the Boy Wonder addressing the crowd of High School Students on the values of being a good citizen and all and that lovely assistant Pussycat did her job of making Robin goes Rogue by using her naughty paws on him. So, later Catwoman needed one Million Dollars for the plans of the Mint from a gangster that have them that fallen in bad times and all that; proceed to Wayne Manor to rob the Wall Safe of $300,000 and get the rest of the money from Pat Pending that keeps all his money in his mattress later on. Robin, participated in it and that's when Alfred alerted Batman via Bat Phone in Commissioner Gordon office. Before, she started to reveal her plan to anyone - his three henchmen and all she let Pussycat to sing California Nights. This went on for more than 3 minutes and in this show they put the spotlight on her talents and not much on the 2nd show as well. And, why these two shows are weak because in the 2nd show - Catwoman managed to get Batman on her side and before that happen - Batman secretly took pill to reduce any effects on the drug that Catwoman put the spell on Robin. So, for the next 15-20 minutes, GCPD captured Robin and Pussycat and that's puts the damper on Catwoman's plans - so she proceed to rob Pat Pending so she can get the Million Dollars for the plans of the Mint. To Commissioner Gordon and Chief O'Hara horror of Batman being with Catwoman and all - they attempt to call Batman on the Red Phone and Catwoman was informed by Batman that they were thrown to a wild goose chase by using the combination of Automatic Batalarm for Detecting Phone Detecting Equipment & Diversionary Batphone Lines to direct the Police to the home of Pat Pending. In three weeks time, the Joker, Penguin, and the Catwoman were inside the Batcave. The only other arch-criminal the Riddler never did. I was disappointed in that. Then, later on Catwoman's plans fell apart and Batman and Catwoman spent a good 2-3 minutes chasing each other and that's lead to her untimely death in Gotham's West River and that's end of her ill-fated crime career of obtaining the plans of the Mint and never really used the Million Dollars for her own gains. It was a fun show to watch if you put that way and I just felt that Catwoman should been more clever and gives Batman more to chew on and guess what ... Julie Newmar will appear as Catwoman later on those two shows were her last appearances on Batman and she went on to do MacKenna Gold with Gregory Peck and Omar Sharif and had additional responsibilities as well. So, Batman said to all of us ... she got 9 lives and I'm pretty certain that we haven't seen the last of her. Batman was right. BatsThis is gotta to be the best that I can do. Sorry Members. The next three shows showcasing the talents of Burgess Meredith and Carolyn Jones as Marsha Queen of Diamonds and that might be done this Friday and/or Saturday. I'm going to tied up in the next two days working on other things. And, I'm ahead of schedule of which it is a good thing.

Batman Episodes (76, 77, 78) … Second SeasonPenguin Is a Girl's Best Friend Penguin Sets a Trend Penguin's Disastrous End Original Air DatesJanuary 26, 1967 February 1, 1967 February 2, 1967 Major VillainsThe Penguin by Burgess Meredith Marsha, Queen of Diamonds by Carolyn Jones Important Guest StarsEstelle Winwood as Aunt Hilda Alan Reed as General MacGruder (2nd & 3rd Show) Robert Hastings as Major Beasley (2nd & 3rd Show) All Three Shows TogetherThe three shows open up with the Penguin shooting a bank robbery scene with Cameras rolling and the Dynamic Duo knew ahead of time to act like Crimefighters and all that and they crashed into the scenes with the Penguin demanding Police Action and suing Gotham City for $10 Million and the Dynamic Duo agrees to be ham actors to Penguin Studio so that they can keep an eye on him. Then later on in the program ... Aunt Harriet and her Gotham City Film Decency Board marched in and demanded that the nude scene of Marsha, Queen of Diamonds and Batman starts to film and put the end of it right away and poor Penguin never gets to use the 24,000 gallons of milk for that scene that he wanted to shoot. Instead ... he instructed Batman to do a scene with Marsha that requires kissing and Penguin wants to do it 100 times if necessary. So, anyway after all this and the first cliffhanger was Penguin trapped the Dynamic Duo and send them across town with Cameras attached to their legs and Batman uses his Batmobile Automatic Switch to send the Batmobile to the right position and Robin was grateful and the next time they do an oil change the Batmobile gets an extra quart of oil. In the 2nd Show, the only fun scene of which Marsha is doing the Seven Veils so that she can distract the Men that guarding the plans for the Tank that they use the stolen Gold from. I find it quite amusing and entertaining too. That's pretty much sums up the 2nd Show and that's only thing that's noteworthy. At the end of the 2nd Show, Batman and Robin is about to be crushed by a Scrap Metal Compactor that the Penguin wants to turn the Dynamic Duo into paperweights and having said that they didn't waste anytime to race to the Hexagon to stop the Penguin. Funny Scene here Alan Reed as General MacGruder Robert Hastings as Major Beasley Bob Hastings - better known as Lt. Elroy Carpenter on McHale's Navy. Then, the chase is on and off and running with the Gold Tank picture with Marsha. Chief O'Hara tried his best to stop the tank and he survived the punishment of the Gold Tank flattened the Patrol Car that he uses to stop it. About to be crushed ... and survived! They were stopped by the timely shot by Robin, the Boy Wonder with the Bat-Bazooka and they were promptly subdued and that's the end of the 3 shows all together. Dick, Aunt Harriet, and Bruce Wayne enjoying the film of where Batman kissing Marsha. BatsThat's the last time we see Carolyn Jones as Marsha Queen of Diamonds and it's was kind of disappointing to me that she didn't get another crack at it in the 3rd Season of Batman and this 3-Part show was fun but rather boring to me. It's gets three bats for creativity and all that and nothing more. Penguin kind of stole the show and I was disappointed that Aunt Hilda did get much time either.

@mechagodzilla Great job with the reviews. I had forgotten that there were 3 part episodes. That one picture of Carolyn Jones...wow she had nice legs. That set looked like the same set that was used when Kirk kissed Uhura on Star Trek.

Batman Episodes (79, 80) … Second SeasonBatman's Anniversary A Riddling Controversy Original Air DatesFebruary 8, 1967 February 9, 1967 Major VillainJohn Astin as The Riddler Important Guest StarsDeanna Lund as Anna Gram Martin Kosleck as Professor Charm Both Shows TogetherThe show started with Commissioner Gordon calling Batman to attend a Ballroom Luncheon in his honor in the anniversary of his appearance as a Crimefighter and Batman got emotional and Gotham City is raising $3 Million in his honor and present him with a Golden Calf brought out to him and all the sudden Riddler appeared and grabbed the Calf and escaped with it. This is start of a Crime Wave stealing Monies to buy a 98 Cent Flashlight for $3 Million Dollars! ... That's later on and I'm getting ahead of myself so that you'll all know what the Riddler is up to. The first Bat Fight in Underwater Scene in a Bank that houses it's money to deter thieves. This is gotta be the most ridiculous and unheard of thing in all Batman Shows that I watched so far and having said that it's was fun actually is the most camp scene ever. I consider it an unique scene and the Bat Words having an aquatic effect which it kinda cool too. Then, they were scheduled to appear to stand on top of a giant cake so that the Sculptor can use Giant Marshmallow Blocks to carve them and having said that it was the Riddle that Batman and Robin trying to solve and it's was too late. The Riddles on this show were rather poor and I find them quite not as good as Frank Gorshin did in the 1st Season. John did not have the flair to deliver. Then, they use heel and toe Bat Rockets to escape it. The 2nd Show was a downer for me and I felt that John Astin did not put his heart out being the Riddler and I felt this scene below of the Dynamic Duo using knives to get to a deposed Dictator and freeing him from this Baffling Bars scene is totally weird and unusual. Back to the 98 cent Flashlight and Professor Charm use it to make the Riddler's Hat disappear and he needed another 3 Million to make it come back to him so the de-molecularizer can work both ways. So, Batman raced to Bat Copter to spread chemicals over Police Headquarters to stop Riddler's plans to make it disappear. Then the Caped Crusaders appeared using their trademark Window Entrances made commented by the Riddler and put the end of Riddler's plans for good. BatsThis is the best that I can do here and I've did care for Deanna Lund acting in these two shows and John did an average job at Best.

I had forgotten that John Astin showed up as The Riddler in this as I rewatched it recently on MeTV and he was who I was referring to earlier in the thread when @mechagodzilla mentioned Lurch from The Addams Family showed up during a window cameo.
