Batman Episodes (85 & 86) … Second SeasonA Piece of the Action Batman's Satisfaction Original Air DatesMarch 1, 2 1967 Major VillainRoger C. Carmel as Colonel Gumm Important Guest StarsVan Williams as The Green Hornet (Both Shows) Bruce Lee as Kato (Both Shows) Diane McBain as Pinky Pinkston Angelique Pettyjohn as 1st Model (1st Show) Jan Watson as 2nd Model (2nd Show) Rico Cattani, Alex Rocco, Seymour Cassel as Gumm's Henchmen (Both Shows) Two Shows HighlightsIn my own perspective these two shows were so iconic seeing both Batman and the Green Hornet together for the 1st and only time they acted together and their colorful sidekicks Robin and Kato too. It's all started when Green Hornet and Kato investigating a crime in Gotham City of where they wanted to know more about the Gotham Gothic and among other things that they are operating in Batman's ballick and may have to clash with the Dynamic Duo. It's was Pinky Pinkston calling Commissioner Gordon to call on the sudden arrival of the Green Hornet and Kato in her Stamp Factory and wants assistance from Batman. Pinky Pinkston and her dog Apricot - Played by Diane McBain Diane McBain was marvelous in these two shows and had more lines than ever before in her previous engagement and that's was brilliantly executed on her part. I really dig her outfit here and her colorful pink hair to make her stand out in a crowd. Anyway, back to the program ... it's really builds up and dealing with crooked foe by the name of Colonel Gumm and played many parts including Boris. I just felt that these two shows really made him shine and I felt that he was an excellent contemporary villain on Batman. The show started out kind of slowly and builds up with lots of dialogue and intrigue involving stamp, stamp factory, hair dryers, interruptions of dual responsibilities like Bruce having a lunch date with Pinky Pinkston and Dick with the French Tutor as well. Batcomputer having problems with power failures and all that and trying to solve the mystery here too. In the Batcave trying decode the message that Pinky Pinkston left ... Before that ... Batman uses his Bat Funnel shown below taking all the alphabet in the alphabet soup to assist him in the crime itself. Later on, in the 1st Show ... Green Hornet and Kato confronted Colonel Gumm and his men and tossed them into the Enlarged Perforating and Coiling Machine and then later on after a quick and dramatic Bat Fight ... Colonel Gumm managed to capture both Dynamic Duo quite successfully. First he thumb tacked the wall of the Green Hornet and his sidekick Kato. And, stuck Batman and Robin in the undetachable glue pad! The 2nd Show, started when the Dynamic Duo managed to escape the undetachable glue pad and freed the Green Hornet and Kato and the Hornet criticized Batman for letting go of Colonel Gumm. The Show managed to creep along and more time with Bruce and Britt going over their past and getting re-acquainted ... that's was kind of cool seeing that and Britt saying I wouldn't want to be caught dead wearing that Crazy Cowl of his - referring the Caped Crusader - Batman himself. Both team of heroes converged in Stamp Convention and the before I get to the finale ... Edward G. Robinson made an appearance as a Window Actor and that's was impressive to get him involved in this caper. Here's the video clip. Then after all this going on and Colonel Gumm made an appearance and used Pinky Pinkston as a Hostage and the Greatest Bat Fight in Batman history started to unfold here. He was happy to see the Stamp that he wanted so badly here and got beaten to the pulp by both Batman and the Green Hornet here. Legendary Gifs HereThen, after this unbelievable Bat-Fight of the Century, Batman and Robin took care of the mess and after this scene is over ... Green Hornet and Kato ended their appearance here in Batman. Complete Bat Fight on You Tube here. The show ended on a good note and both Bruce and Britt having another Lunch Date with Pinky Pinkston and Batman calling Pinky for thanks for assisting on the case and laughing together and enjoying the memories that they have. Bats and another one too ... Legendary Picture of the Four Heroes standing up front of the Enlarged Perforating and Coiling Machine - This is truly an iconic picture!

Guest Star Spotlight - Part 1 of 2 Angelique Pettyjohn
She said to Britt Reid - "Peignoir name Shirley, I'm Shirley ... Lingerie Bazaar off at 6" ... Her famous roles includes Shahna in Star Trek
Pettyjohn in Star Trek
And, Cigarette Girl in Get Smart starring Don Adams below ... she was great on Get Smart and also appeared as Charlie Watkins too.
Cigarette Girl
Charlie Watkins
Guest Star Spotlight - Jan Watson - Part 2 of 2
Her lines with Bruce Wayne ... Bruce said "What's Size it is ... and she said 555-5555 and Bruce repeated after her and she said to him correcting him that's my Telephone Number ...
I'm a Dean Martin Matt Helm fan and she appeared in 3 Movies as a Slay Girl and was perfect for that role.
Here is she in the Ambushers with Dean Martin taking him on this cute motorized Scooter! ... She didn't much of a career as an actress but made her mark on the Matt Helm movies with Dean Martin.

Batman Episodes (87 & 88) … Second SeasonKing Tut's Coup Batman's Waterloo Original Air DatesMarch 8, 9 1967 Major VillainVictor Bruno as King Tut Important Guest StarsLee Meriwether as Lisa Carson Suzy Knickerbocker in a Window Opening Tol Avery as Deputy Mayor Zorty Tommy Noonan as Jolly Jackson Grace Lee Whitney as Neila Two Shows Highlights
This is really kind of lame show that they did after the being done with the last 4 brilliant shows that they did previously. The plot is to kidnap a woman that King Tut thought to be his Cleopatra in a form of Gothamite Lisa Carson being played by Lee Meriwether (Catwoman, in the Batman Movie) and he did that at a Costume Ball and all that. The Secondary Players Jolly (Tommy Noonan) Jackson, Tol (Deputy Mayor Zorty) Avery, and Grace Lee (Neila) Whitney did not do much in these two shows together. Costume Rehearsal - Dig them! Batman and Robin were not that good in these two shows together and I felt that these shows did not do much for me and was kind of lackluster of her father paying the ransom of $8 Million and Change was ridiculous and Lee was a real trooper in this show and I was happy to see her doing a Batman Show and I felt that she wasn't utilized to her potential but she did have some good dialogue with King Tut in certain parts of the two shows together that made it bearable to watch. Robin did not do much until the very end ... Bat-Fight in the 2nd Show. These scenes are good and that's one of the very few that I liked here. Lee and Victor in their better moments here. I just loved the Window Opening of Suzy Knickerbocker on the 1st Show of which she was superb and loved the sparkle of her dress here. Suzy Knickerbocker Great Dialogue and Witty Exchange here ... she is one of my favorite Windows Openings - it would ranked Number 2 on my list ... Green Hornet and Kato is Number 1. Batman created a special pellet/pill into the Boiling Pot of Oil to save Robin of which he did and a good Bat-Fight and the show ended quickly and that's pretty much it. I just having a hard time dealing with this show and I'm so sorry that I just find it very uninteresting to watch. Gorgeous Lee Meriwether as Lisa Carson smiling at Bruce (Adam West) Wayne here. Man, this is the part that made it enjoyable at the end of the 2nd Show and this 2 Minutes plus Scene seeing the Gorgeous Lee Meriwether having a date with Bruce Wayne at the end and making these corny dialogue here and saying "Wayne Foundation is my Wife" and all that and top it of Lisa (Lee Meriwether) Carson commenting that she made cookies that afternoon and invited Bruce to come in is pure fun. "Milk and Cookies" ... "I've made them myself" were gems! Right around at the beginning of this scene ... Bruce said it is 10:30 at night ... and getting late ... crying out loud Bruce ... you should be enjoying yourself in a company of a gorgeous lady like Lisa here. 10:30 to me ... is practically at the time that my date with my girlfriend just started a hour and half ago if we go dancing together. Those dates are from 9pm to 2am in the morning and I don't get home until 4am after stopping for dessert at Denny's. BatsThis is the best that I can do ... I'm skipping Black Widow, moving onto both the Joker and Mr. Freeze at the end of the 2nd Season. I should be done with 2nd Season by the 27th of November.

That fight between Burt and Bruce had Robin's shorts turning from green to brown. Ward studied a bit of martial arts; but, soon learned what a real expert looked like. That was just a great two-parter and was where I first got to actually see the Green hornet, not just read about him and Kato. Meanwhile, Angelique Pettyjohn was also somewhat infamous for a bit of work in adult films, in the early 80s, after doing some burlesque shows and appearing as a topless dancer, in the low budget GI Executioner.

Batman Episodes (89 & 90) … Second SeasonBlack Widow Strikes Again Caught in the Spider's Den Original Air DatesMarch 15, 16 1967 Major VillainessTallulah Bankhead as the Black Widow Important Guest StarsThere were players on this show that I had hardly knew. Things that I want to Share First of all, She died on December 12th, 1968 at the age of 66 years of age and her health was failing and her speech back then made not to enjoy this two-part show and I'm hard of hearing and I didn't watch the 2nd show until I got close captioning 30 odd years later. Matter of fact, my Mother couldn't understand her either and we were watching the show together while my older brothers and my Father were at a Scout Show and couldn't watch it with us. When, I was watching a year ago and this gotta to be the stupidest thing that Adam West done in his Batman Career ... He was ... singing a Song entitled ... “I’m Called Little Buttercup” got me laughing so hard - I literally cracking up. And, Robin ordering him to do so. This is all I have for now and I just don't have the nerves to watch this show and what so sad about it Miss Bankhead is a talented actress in the 40's and 50's and so forth and her appearance on Batman was her last Televised/Movie appearance. I loved her in Tarnished Lady (1931) as Nancy Courtney, The Cheat (1931) as Elsa Carlyle, Faithless (1932), and her famous role in Lifeboat (1944) as Connie Porter. I also saw her in Main Street to Broadway as herself in 1953 and later on in Die! Die! My Darling! (1965) as Mrs. Trefoile. I just wanted to let you know why (in general) why I had a hard time watching this show.

Batman Episodes (91 & 92) … Second SeasonPop Goes the Joker Flop Goes the Joker Original Air DatesMarch 22, 23 1967 Major VillainCesar Romero as The Joker Important Guest StarsReginald Gardiner as Bernie Park Diana Ivarson as Baby Jane Towser Fritz Feld as Oliver Muzzy Two Shows Highlights The opening show showcasing the Joker coming in Bernie Parks Studios and defacing paintings with guns that sprays paints. Alfred as sharp as a wit called Wayne Manor and Aunt Harriet told Bruce there is a painting entitled “The Laughing Man” and as Batman to investigate. While a short and quick Bat-Fight ... Oliver Muzzy one of the artist there and declared that Joker Art is a masterpiece and it's shows creativity and all that. Joker signed his initials on Batman's Shirt Joker enters the Gotham International Art Contest. Gordon plans to embed fifty plainclothes officers, but Batman suggests instead just having one person go in, someone who runs in the same social circles as the contest’s host, socialite Baby Jane Towser. Commissioner Gordon advises Bruce Wayne and Batman agrees. The Art Contest is won by the Joker, however, paints nothing. He calls it “Death of a Mauve Bat.” It died in 1936, and the blank canvas represents the emptiness of modern life. Towser is overwhelmed with its brilliance and awards first prize to the Joker! Joker opens up an Art School So that Bruce can keep an eye on him. Robin climbs up a wall and a Bat Fight and Bruce joined in and they were promptly taken in by Joker's Men and strapped in a giant Joker Mobile filled with sharp blades and ... Bruce managed to reach the governor and stopped the Joker Mobile! ... Later on, he in the Batcave, Bruce slides down the bat-pole into a freshly laundered bat-suit cleaned by Alfred. He has Alfred paint a bunch of paintings, and they replace all the art in the Towser Wing of the Gotham Art Museum with Alfred’s work. Joker was taken by surprise. Joker discovered that his paintings been switched and got fooled by the Dynamic Duo Joker called Commissioner Gordon and demanded money of a ransom of Ten Million Dollars and discovered that Batman is on the line from Commissioner Gordon's Office and actually he's a few feet away listening on the other phone. Joker was caught by surprise and Batman said “Start pounding" and let out a huge scream and both Gordon and O'Hara on the phone - it's Music to my Ears ... Joker along with Baby Jane raced to Wayne Manor to get some quick cash and knowing that the Joker has a distaste for Bruce wants cash from Bruce's safe and go in the hiding for a few months. Batman and Robin has to stop him and quick thinking that he mistaken the bust of William Shakespeare as a Secret Pathway and Alfred in his quick thinking hit the Emergency Bat Pole Elevator Switch to stop the Joker gaining entrance to the Batcave and to preserve Bruce and Dick's identities. Alfred quick thinking and all that saved the day. I've chuckled when Alfred said we "finks have a long memory" was priceless. One quick note ... this show was the inspiration to Batman Movie starring Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson - similarities in order! BatsNice and well-rounded shows and I liked the pace of it and it's was an decent good show that's quite entertaining to boot. And, I got two more shows to do to wrap up 2nd Season of Batman. I'll get to that next Sunday to finish it off. Then, take a breather and finish the 3rd Season in 2018.

Luckily, Alfred had taken down the signs for cleaning... You can't go wrong making fun of "modern art" and the art world, in general.

Batman Episodes (93 & 94) … Second SeasonIce Spy The Duo Defy Original Air DatesMarch 29, 30 1967 Major VillainEli Wallach as Mr. Freeze Important Guest StarsLeslie Parrish as Glacia Glaze Elisha Cook Jr. as Professor Isaacson Two Shows Highlights First of all, one of the dumbest moves that the Producers of Batman did is to have Carpet (Cyril Lord) King a businessman well known in Southern California in a Window Appearances and I felt it was so out of place and that's why I feel that this move did not bode so well here and they get a minus bat because of it. Leslie Parrish as Glacia Glaze didn't really do much in these two shows - and I felt that the Producers did not make her a prominent guest star in these two shows and it's bothers me so much that I felt that they needed the eye candy to provide the male viewers something to grab a hold of the show itself. These two shows combined is a horrible way to end the 2nd Season and I just can't believe that they couldn't find a better method of Mr. Freeze disposing the Dynamic Duo? Similar in more ways in one! No originality of the these two shows and the The Contaminated Cowl done earlier in the 2nd Season and I felt robbed by that and having said that ... my heart in these shows not what I've expected to be and it's was so bad and they should had done something about it to make it more respectful. Even, with the Bat Copter appearance, Icebergs, and all that didn't save much either. The storyline was weak and reuse in the episode of which Otto Preminger was in and I felt that they did they did not wanted to change that. Eli Wallach ... was an excellent actor in other roles that he did and when I was much younger and I felt he was an decent Mr. Freeze and after watching 90 plus Batman TV Shows over the past year and I'm starting getting to see that these two shows not as good as both George Sanders and Otto Preminger that I just don't want to bore you with details here. I watched these two shows early this morning before I went to Coffee BatsThe 2nd Season ended in a bad way and this is the omen of the Start of the 3rd Season of where it's started to go bad and the return of Frank Gorshin as the Riddler made it bearable and the addition of Yvonne Craig and the removal of Madge (Aunt Harriet) Blake was a sad thing to see and I was beginning to see why I like her so much in Batman Television Series. I'm done with 1st and 2nd Season and taking the rest of the year off and resume the 3rd Season starting a day after New Years and hopefully be done by end of February and/or Early March and take my time doing it right.

Batman Episodes (95) … Third SeasonEnter Batgirl, Exit Penguin Original Air DatesSeptember 14, 1967 Major VillainBurgess Meredith as The Penguin Important Guest StarsJonathan Troy as Reverend Hazlitt Highlights of the ShowSad to say this that Madge Blake isn't around here anymore and Alan Napier role as Alfred is increasing and adding more lines and screen time to replace Madge. Yvonne Craig is added to the casting as the daring crime-fighter Batgirl! It's all started when the Penguin captured Barbara Gordon and both Commissioner Gordon and Chief O'Hara showed up at her apartment and discovered that Barbara isn't there and a phone call arrived and it's the Penguin calling and he's got Barbara Gordon and then a few seconds later ... Bruce and Dick arrived and heard that Penguin made an announcement in the Gotham City Times that he's marrying Barbara Gordon! It seems that Penguin’s plan is to marry Barbara so he can be son-in-law of the Commissioner and avoid prosecution for his many crimes and rightly so. Then, the show started to pick up speed and this kind of shocked me of how the Producers managed to get 2 shows together and merge into one of with a cliffhanger in the middle of the show of the Dynamic Duo is about to be dipped and Batgirl showed up in time! I just wanted to share that right now because of the speed of the shows is so dramatic and it's moving along quite nicely. Before that happen, Penguin had the apartment next door so he can keep track what's going on in Barbara's Apartment so that he can stay on top of things and at the Batcave and both Batman and Robin trying to determine where is Penguin's Hideout is and then all the sudden they got an alarm from Alfred and he's has an emergency of which the Penguin's men kidnapped him instead of the Reverend and starting to unnerve the Caped Crusaders! The most critical scene is when Barbara Gordon revealed to Alfred that she is really Batgirl and I just realize that how important is ALFRED really is ... He is only one in this show that knows all the identities of Batman, Robin, and now Batgirl and this really set the mood for the 3rd Season alone. Nice Entrance of BATGIRL ... Yvonne Craig! And, her BATGIRL BAT CYCLE too! Then, a great Showcase of Yvonne Craig using her well toned legs to fight her way as newest member of the Gotham City Crimefighter Family and now the Dynamic Duo has become the Terrific Trio as Batgirl makes her marks in the 3rd Season of Batman! Later in the television show, it's showed that Bruce and Dick is getting out of the DMV and getting his driver's license and having said that ... he's now allowed to drive the Batmobile and sadly they didn't do that much in this season and real bummer for me! BatsGreat Opening Show in the 3rd Season and sadly there aren't that many shows that are outstanding and that's why I'm going to try my best to do the this season in the best way that I can. This plot is really simple and yet proves that the one show with a Cliffhanger in the middle can work and that's how it's going to be for the most of the 3rd Season of Batman.
