Batman Episode (1) … First Season – The Joker Goes to School Original Air Date - March 2, 1966 Major Villain - Cesar Romero as the Joker Important Guest StarsDonna Loren as Susie Window Cameos - None My Thoughts about the ShowIt's a pretty bizarre show of where the Joker has a clever way of fooling the Police, Batman, the School of Woodrow Roosevelt High, and among other things of which he brought a novelty/jukebox company to do his dastardly deeds. In the opening sequence, one of the vending machines starts spilling out Silver Dollars for one thin dime and all students started to get greedy and the High School notified Commissioner Gordon for help. Both Gordon and O'Hara deduced that the Joker is up in his own bag of tricks! School Morale is at the all-time low and the Student Body of Woodrow Roosevelt assembled in the Principal's Office and been discussing the problem and all that with Batman assisting them on this bizarre opening bandit. Before, I move on to the next picture, at Gordon's Office ... Batman and Gordon called the School to get this meeting in (see above) and Batman asked O'Hara to get a visual box of Joker's ready and meet at the Batmobile so that this meeting can be a successful one indeed. Then, Batman raced to the School and during that timeframe a Robbery in another part of the city already in progress (unknown to Batman) that two masked robbers rob a bar with an aid of a jukebox that was really was a robotic gunman itself and that ... alone helped establish the alibi for the Crown Prince of Crime - The Joker! Important Scene Here Later on, Batman and Robin raced to Woodrow Roosevelt High and they find Susie altered them to the Gymnasium and the Dynamic Duo carefully went to the Vending Machine and Batman ordered Robin to get out his Batarang in case something happen to them. As it turn out, it's a gasser and that's spells doom for the Dynamic Duo. Found this Gif by accident and I loved the way the Joker laughed about it. A real Romero Gem Here. After this incident ... From Wikipedia (in italic) Batman and Robin are transferred to the inside of a moving van, where they are strapped to electric chairs; on the wall is a slot machine, which when activated will win them their freedom and $50,000 cash with 3 liberty bells; just their freedom with 3 oranges, and instant and inescapable 50,000 lethal volts of electricity with 3 lemons, automatically on the last lemon. And as bad luck would have it, 2 lemons have turned up already...
BatsTo me, this show gets 3 stars for a simple and bizarre plan by the Joker and I just can't give it 4 because it was pretty lame in certain parts of the show that I find it to be quite boring.

The Joker's schemes were always weirder than the other villains or I perceived them that way.
And another beauty with Donna Loren.
Was Roosevelt High Dick's high school in the show?

Just a side note on how cool it was that they shined the Bat Signal in L.A. after Adam West's passing.

I'm glad this thread exists and am looking forward to reading more. Recently I started rewatching the series from the beginning as it's being shown on MeTV and I've watched as far as season 3. Although I was kinda bummed they moved it from the early evening to after midnight to fit in with their late night Red Eye Sci-Fi block. I dunno if it's been mentioned but @mechagodzilla are you watching these episodes on the recent Batman Blu-ray boxset? I've seen a few reviews for it and it looks fantastic.

I do this thread from the regular DVD (Not Blu-Ray) boxset and I hate MeTV because the broadcast signal causing bad sound and picture quality. I rarely watch MeTV at all. I'm glad that you are enjoying this thread and I've trying to do the best job that I can and it's takes me 3-4 hours to do a 30 minute show here. My next one will be on Wednesday.

I agree when MeTV airs Batman it doesn't have the same quality as say when IFC was recently showing the series. I do quite like MeTV Saturday programming though.

I wonder if the Me TV signal quality is regional. Our quality here is very good but our Me TV is a digital channel of our local NBC affiliate which has the highest local news ratings. When Me TV was a sub channel of a local independent station it had poor quality.
