Batman Episode (1) … First Season – He Meets His Match, The Grisly Ghoul Original Air Date - March 3, 1966 Major Villain - Cesar Romero as the Joker Important Guest StarsDonna Loren as SusieI just loved this cute little number on her in this show. Window Cameos - None My Thoughts about the ShowAfter the two cops saved the Dynamic Duo from the 3rd Lemon in just in time; the Dynamic Duo raced to the office of the Commissioner to discuss what next and that's the recordings of the Joker and the Bad Pennies in disguise and they have it on tape. They took the recordings to the Batcave and able to find out who was behind this nefarious scheme. After running the tapes and making sure that they heard it right and Robin instantly recognize Susie's Voice and couldn't believe that it was her in the first place and he said ... "Holy Benedict Arnold" and it's couldn't be!
Batman quietly told Robin ... it's just as hold as Adam and the Apple of people turning astray over some wicked favors and all that. Robin understood and understand why! ... That Holy Word in the 16th Show in the 1st Season was the most significant one there and I just wanted to emphasize that. So, they figure out the next plan of attack by getting some inside scoop over the Joker's plan and the tip was a bar being (At 3pm) robbed by robotic force and that was deduced by Dick Grayson - as Undercover Agent. Batman was watching the whole thing in the comfort of the Batmobile and he was pleased by Dick's performance and he came back to the Batcave at twenty to 3 and raced to the Bar being robbed and averted disaster by saving the patrons in the bar at precisely at 3pm. Put your hands up Robin! After that being done ... the next destination is the School and the Dynamic Duo saved Susie by giving her the Universal Bat Antidote and she reveals the criminal plans in return favor to the Dynamic Duo by revealing that she placed the Examination Papers for the College Pre Application Screening (I think it was) and the Dynamic Duo switched the Papers and told the Ballplayers that those Answers are false and it was planted by the Clown Prince of Crime and a brief Bat-Fight and the Joker and the Bad Pennies are off to Jail. False Examination Papers! Then, at the end Susie at Wayne Manor, said goodbye to Dick after Bruce arranged her to a facility of delinquent girls that being sponsored by the Wayne Foundation that she must serve her time for her bad deeds that was planned by the Joker. BatsIt was a good pace show and it's was the first appearance of the Bat Shield and it was noted that Joker's greed was at it's highest when he discovered that he can place $50,000 on Disco Tech so that the payoff will be at $1 Million after Disco Tech defeats Woodrow Roosevelt High.

New Avatar in Honor of Adam West
I'll leave it up for awhile and may take it down sometimes in a month or so. A friend of mine sent me this video today and I made it into an avatar in his honor. It was difficult thing to make with careful editing and keep under the size limit here in Classic Comics Forum. I've might leave it up until Labor Day when I take September Off for family, vacation, and personal business.

Batman Episode (1) … First Season – True or False-Face Original Air Date - March 9, 1966 Major Villain - ?? as False Face Important Guest StarsMyrna Fahey as Blaze Billy Curtis as Midget, he had a very long list of credits and he appeared in Adventures of Superman and was inside the costume as Superpup; in the Adventures of Superpup. Billy Curtis as Superpup Window Cameos - None My Thoughts about the ShowIn my own mind, I just can't stand the multitudes of colors in hair in this show and I had a hard time watching it for that reason alone. It was a fast paced of a show that I felt it was too fast for a kid to follow back then and when I watch it as an adult - it was furious and I don't like it all. It's all started when Blaze, False Face disguised herself as a Princess came to inspect the crown and assisted False Face in doing so in driving out a Police Van and later a Bakery Van to put the Gotham City Police in false trail to them to follow. The Ugly Face Mask worn by False Face here. Then, later on Blaze again giving the Caped Crusader and the Boy Wonder another clue and this time Blaze made a bold escape and that's lead to the caper of counterfeit paper at the Gotham City Mint of which the paper is made there and so forth and was part of the caper that False Face wanted the Dynamic Duo to undertake. I loved this corny scene of which Batman told Blaze it's a sound body and mind to be a crime-fighter - something like that and that's the beauty of the show success back then and it's still true today. Adam West did a good job of keeping it campy, fun, and it's appeals to both kids and adults back then and still true today. I just can't stand the Red Hair of False Face and again Blaze had her silver white blonde hair again for the 2nd time after being posed a man and then a blonde in the previous picture that I posted today. False Face uses his First Lieutenant (that's what Robin said earlier in Police Headquarters) and she didn't know what future plans being formed by False Face. So, she sent them to wild goose chase that led to ... alley that the Police and a false Chief O'Hara (False Face) trying to round them up. That scene was very hectic and confusing to children back then. First Lieutenant Insignia in the Army, Air Force, and Marines. It was Blaze all the long leading the Dynamic Duo to a trap - at first she gasses Robin and led Batman to a Candy Machine to retrieve a Candy Bar for Blaze and that Machine also gasses Batman and the Duo finally subdued by the feminine, but deadly charms of Blaze and the Duo was glued to the train tracks to their ultimate doom. BatsI gave it a Four because of the fast pace and keeps everybody glued to their seats and the array of multi-colored hair of Blaze keeping it unique as possible. The Red Hair of False Face and that ugly mask that he wears make him the ugliest villain that Batman ever faced. Note: I'm taking out the Windows Cameos in all future posts until one appears.

Batman Episode (1) … First Season – Holy Rat Race Original Air Date - March 10, 1966 Major Villain - Malachi Throne as False Face Important Guest StarsSee Previous Post for more information My Thoughts about the ShowIn the opening sequence, both Batman and Robin were trapped by False Face and somehow a vital clue left by Blaze. “To the friends of Batman – Many are called but two are chosen. Be receptive.”; was critical and yet proved disaster for False Face so that he had to face the Dynamic Duo again. After a brief trip to the Batcave for some pressing repairs and after that was done the Dynamic Duo raced to the source of that Clue to a Radio Station of someone passed a phony check and Batman deduces that it was Blaze all long and that's was critical visit and Batman advises the Manager to send that check in care of Commissioner Gordon to see that he will be reimburse properly. Then, later on False Face and his men are planning on robbing Gotham National Bank and with the new clues that they had - they came fully prepared to meet them and an astonished False Face couldn't believe what is happening here. Loved his expression here. After that crazy mishaps of comedic proportions of people running around in the bank and all that and that's got to be the one of dumbest thing that the Producers ever done to fill up time on the show. Then, later on at old movie studio the Caped Crusaders are in a final showdown with False Face and it has the coolest photography of Batman and Robin driving the Batmobile from the reverse angle and that's was the cream of the top and Batman one by one captured all the remaining henchmen from False Face. Batman as always pays great attention to his surroundings and finally figure out a way to trap False Face by using a False Batmobile that False Face thought he destroyed the Dynamic Duo. Batman finally captured False Face be he noticed that the False Commissioner is holding a handkerchief in his left hand not his right and finally subdued him. It's always the small details that fails me and my nemesis - the Caped Crusader and that's the 2nd or 3rd time that he said that and that's spells disaster for him. So, after Blaze been released and served her role as Blaze in assisting False Face, and her beliefs has changed by her unknown savior - Batman she was fully reformed and wanting to thank Mr. Wayne for changing her and also to the scourge of crime - Batman of she in many occasions in the show assisted Batman in capturing her ex-boss False Face. She wanted to leave Gotham City and go to New Zealand to help her poor brother and get a whole new lease in life. BatsDespite that idiotic scene in the bank, the Producers of the show gets a high mark of photography of showing the backside of the Batmobile and the clever use of the False Batmobile in the due process. I wished I would know how Batman managed to do that? ... Worthy of 5 Bats here.

First Lieutenant is also a reference to a position on a naval vessel. The First Lieutenant is in charge of the Deck Department, which includes all fitting on the exterior of the ship and its hull. In the days of sailing ships, that included the rigging and sails. It was the third in command (sometimes second) of the ship, after the captain and executive officer. On smaller vessels, the First Lieutenant was often second-in-command, mirroring the Army company structure, where a captain leads a company, with a lieutenant as his second.

Batman Episode (1) … First Season – The Purr-fect Crime Original Air Date - March 16, 1966 Major Villainess - Julie Newmar as Catwoman Important Guest StarsIn a Cameo Role - Harry Holcombe as Mark Andrews, the Multi-Millionaire Pictured here with Gordon, O'Hara, and the Dynamic Duo. My Thoughts about the ShowIt's all started when Commissioner Gordon got a small box from his Secretary Bonnie and it was jumpy and out of curiosity that inside the box was a cute kitten and they both agree it was the opening bandit for Catwoman who out there committing crimes. After a brief consultation from Mark Andrews (see above) that Catwoman is on some nefarious plans involving the cats that Mark Andrews has and the Dynamic Duo needs to find out by going by going to the Gotham City Exposition, and since Catwoman was kind enough to send a newspaper clipping along with her adorable calling card, it stands to reason that it’s going to be her next target. So, before doing that, the Dynamic Duo raced to the Batcave to make a radioactive spray on of the cats that own by Mr. Andrews so that they can trace it within 50 miles from it. Here's Alfred assisting Batman in making the radioactive spray. After a brief bat-fight at the Exposition, and Robin finally revived they raced to a warehouse bearing the names of Gato and Katz; Gato is Cat in Spanish and Katz is Cat in German. They used the Bat-Beam on the door of the warehouse and their hunch was correct - the door was booby-trapped and managed to enter the warehouse and was immediately greeted by Catwoman via P.A. System. First they were placed in a perilous position being surrounded by pointed daggers! After this narrowing clip and it was very suspenseful moments and a fake bomb was activated twice and the final time had a small white flag saying "Meow"! ... Then, Robin vanished from Batman by a mean of tube that vacuumed the Boy Wonder and Batman was all alone in the crutches of the feline predator - Catwoman! Catwoman gave two choices - one life and one death and Batman chooses Death! on a gamble from Catwoman! Death was in the form of a tiger that ready to pounce Batman and that spells disaster for the Caped Crusader. BatsJulie was excellent in her first outing as Catwoman and this shows made a great build-up to the end and it was done in excellent fashion. I really enjoyed this show immensely.

One of the best Catwoman episodes and always a favorite. A friend of mine had the Viewmaster superhero pack, that included scenes from this episode. I had a nightmare after looking at it, dreaming that I was being chased by the Penguin, though I seem to recall it was the cartoon image, from the original Filmation cartoons (the 60s Adv. of Batman, from the Batman/Superman Hour). My mind occasionally conjured up some strange dreams/nightmares (including fighting Darth Vader underwater, inspired by one of Ralph McQuarrie's paintings).

Batman Episode (1) … First Season – Better Luck Next TimeOriginal Air Date - March 17, 1966 Major Villainess Julie Newmar as Catwoman Important Guest StarsJock Mahoney as Leo I've totally forgot that Jock Mahoney was a western star and I've did not know until now that he appeared as one of Catwoman's henchmen in this episode. My Thoughts about the ShowBatman, uses his Bat Communicator, Earplugs, and Bat Claws to get away from this tiger and that's was quite of scene right there and Catwoman made one big mistake for not wanting to see the end of Batman's life here and when she made that remark in the show that she can't stand the sight of blood. Then, using the Bat Sticker after getting out of that situation that took all the muster of the Caped Crusader to handle and eventually found Robin about to be fed to hungry tigers below. Funny thing about this moment is Catwoman asked her Men of exactly how much Robin weighs ... they said 132 pounds and 10 ounces. And, they filled the Sand with that exact same amount and Batman arrived in the nick of time saving the Boy Wonder. After a very brief Bat Fight, Batman ordered Robin to call the Commissioner Gordon and have them to pick up one of Catwoman's Henchmen - who was Felix at the time along with one another one that Batman forgot to mention here. Because there were three Henchmen at the time of this Bat Fight. Robin did call and told them to pick up at Gato and Katz Warehouse along with the address too. So, back to Batcave for more discussion of figuring out where Catwoman at and why she leaves the two Golden Cats that belongs to Mark Andrews at her hideout? Then, later Batman finally came to realize that these two cats belongs to Captain Manx a Pirate in the early day of Gotham City to make sure that his pirate plunder make good for the early citizens of Gotham City and that's what Catwoman was going after. So, a great idea hits the Caped Crusader and the Boy Wonder that they decided to use the Batometer to detect the whereabouts of Catwoman and Robin placed the Cats in Batmobile's trunk and all that. Catwoman, got the road mined by Leo and was mad when she heard that Batman got Felix earlier and upon hearing the bad news from Leo - She went ahead with him to find the treasure and hopefully get away before Batman and Robin catch her. She was very mad at this time. Then, she gasses Leo and wanting the whole loot in the bag that Leo had filled and when the Dynamic Duo finally caught up with her - she ran and jump over a section of the cave and couldn't hold on despite Batman's plea to let go the bag and fall into a bottomless section of the cave and Robin was in anguish and Batman consoled him for her ultimate undoing here. About to die here and somehow she lives! ... I guess that she has nine lives to spare! BatsIt was a fair to good show to begin with and I was kind of sad to see Catwoman goes and not captured by Batman at the end of this show and all that. I almost gave it two Bats and that why I felt that it should had been a better show. The next show ... The Penguin Goes Straight will start next week on Monday at the latest and I'm giving myself the weekend off to work on other things.

Western star? Jock Mahoney was Tarzan! Mahoney took over the role from Gordon Scott (after appearing with him, in Tarzan the Fearless, as a criminal) and appears in my all-time favorite Tarzan film, Tarzan's Three Challenges, with Woody Strode. Unfortunately, a bout of dysentery left him rather thin, so he didn't look his best, as he and Strode compete in a series of tests/battles. To be honest, I did not know that he played TARZAN and I was shocked to read your post and he also played along with Woody Strode who was Marsha's chief assistant in another show later on. Thanks for pointing that out and learned something new today about Jock!!!

He also appeared in a few Three Stooges shorts. He started as a stuntman before getting acting roles. He was also the stepfather of Sally Fields.
