I've got a few of them... I was buying them on clearance when BJs would sell them for $5 each. I remember liking the Wonder Woman origin.. didn't like the Green Lantern or JLA one as much. Dark Knight returns was quite good. I decided to pass on Judas Contract.. it's just can't be the same with all the characer substitions, so it'll just annoy me. I felt the same way, but give it a chance. Most of the main characters from the original Wolfman/Perez story are there...Tara, Nightwing, Starfire, Changeling, Raven, Deathstroke, Brother Blood. I recommend this 100%!! One of the best DC animated movies made so far.

I watched the Batman and Harley Quinn movie yesterday. It was alright, not going to make my top 10 list. Some funny moments, especially the kinky scene with Nightwing and Harley.

Ugh.
One of the few times DC decides to steer away from their mainstay Dark and Dreary sensibilities and it's when doing so would have displayed fealty to the original material. I don't see a trace of Mignola's influence anywhere in that preview and what was so appealing and original about Augustyn's story was that it threw Batman (or an approximation thereof) into the late 19th century and left him without so many of the things which made him Batman. No gadgets, no cave, no built in cast of characters to rely on (other than Gordon and Alfred for the most part), just Batman all alone. It was a sort of "what if we went back in time and had to create Batman using only the tools available in 1889 with a smattering of knowledge of what the future holds?"
This appears to be a sort of steampunk "We're transporting Batman back in time with all his friends and surroundings to keep him happy!" He's riding a motorcycle, has a pneumatic grappling hook, even the Bat-Signal makes an appearance. Poison Ivy, Selina Kyle, a nod to Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, Barbara Gordon, Hugo Strange - it just seems too cozy which Gaslight definitely isn't.

Poison Ivy, Selina Kyle, a nod to Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, Barbara Gordon, Hugo Strange - it just seems too cozy which Gaslight definitely isn't. It didn't look that cozy in the feature, those death scenes they showed looked plenty dark to me and I always felt that the whole cast was always there we just didn't see them. Gaslight is like Year One of the steampunk Batman, there's Gordon, there's Alfred a hint at Selina and in Master of the Future we got a tease of the Joker and Two Face so there was always the feeling of this world is just like the one we know...only just a little off, which makes sense as that's the stated mission of the whole Elseworld label which sprung from Gaslight.

That's true - I mean, if this world has a Bruce Wayne, Alfred, Gordon, and Harvey Dent then it isn't a giant leap in logic to presume it also has all those other characters. I'm just not a fan of Batman travelling to another period and finding representatives of every person he's ever bumped into when he arrives.
You're also right about Master of the Future which went in a whole other direction with the same characters. That was steampunk (as I understand the concept at any rate) whereas Gaslight felt more like "Here's your origin, butler, Gordon, and cloak - that's all you can count on for familiarity, the rest is a roll of the dice".

Gotham by Gaslight is one of my favorite Batman stories, so I'm definitely going to give this a try. I do wish the art style was closer to Mignola's though.

Batman The Brave and the Bold returns in an animated Scooby-Doo crossover film reminiscent of the classic The New Scooby-Doo Movies that featured Batman and Robin.

Oh, cool. Brave and the Bold is the only superhero cartoon I've ever really liked as a growed up.

Wow this trailer for the upcoming Batman Ninja anime looks crazy!
I'm not quite sure if this is a film or a series though.
