Anybody seen Gotham by Gaslight? How is it? I found it to be even better than the source material. The mystery is deeper and the inclusion of more Bat-Verse characters makes it a richer story.

Thanks. I really like the source material, but the mystery is kind of weak. Spoilers for Gotham by Gaslight and Batman Hush to follow: It has the same problem as Hush, that Batman fights a mysterious villain right as a previously non-existent longtime friend of Bruce Wayne appears. That said, it is a good story, and the art is second-to-none. I'll be sure to check out the film.

Batman The Brave and the Bold returns in an animated Scooby-Doo crossover film reminiscent of the classic The New Scooby-Doo Movies that featured Batman and Robin. I just got this on DVD. It was at Vons where I shop for food and I decided to get it. I don't really like the new Scooby Doo stuff that comes out on DVD. To me the classic Scooby Doo cartoons were better, but being this was bringing back Batman: The Brave And The Bold cast it was worth it to add to my Batman Collection. The only bonus features the DVD has is the 2 Scooby-Doo movies episodes that has Batman & Robin that were previously released to DVD. So if you don't have those 2 episodes already, then you are getting 3 Scooby & Batman stories on one DVD disc. At Vons the DVD was $14.99.

There's a trailer out for the upcoming Batman and Harley Quinn animated film and I can't say I was all that impressed by it but it does seem to have some positive things going for it. I thought it was exciting to see Harley wearing her classic cartoon costume and I'm glad to see the movie has a Bruce Timm animation style vibe. It's also nice to hear Kevin Conroy and Loren Lester return as the voices of Batman and Nightwing. This also looks like it may be the first animated appearance of Floronic Man. Any Batman film that has Kevin Conroy and Loren Lester doing their thing is a Batman project worth collecting.

The only ones I really thought were great were The New Frontier and Crisis on Two Earths.
JL: Doom was a cute homage to the old Superfriends cartoon, but I don't think it's really a good movie.
I don't think trying to mimic the comic artist's style is a good idea...when they tried to ape Miller for the Dark Knight movies, it just looked like, well, a badly aped Miller.

First look at the upcoming Death of Superman:
I really like how its a part of all the New 52ish DC Universe continuity they've had for a few years now.

Gotta say I was pleasantly surprised with the new suicide squad dtv. Quite a bit better than expected. Very refreshingly original with a unique story and plenty of unexpected turns and ideas. Good all around. My only complaint (besides some odd out of place cgi) is the R rating. Most elements making it R felt gratuitous and inorganic. Like most of these intentionally more “adult” geared projects, it seems unnecessary and forced. Most these elements take away rather than add imo. I’m not against the idea or offended by any of it, it just imo needs to be or feel natural and necessary and it rarely does imo with these. Even though DCs animated projects have dropped dramatically in overall quality imo recently, I recommend this one.

I haven't been interested enough in the various animated films DC has put out recently to try them out so my sample size may be off but after Under the Hood and the Spectre short this is easily one of the best they've done. The characterization was solid, the voice acting great and although slightly predictable the plot was fun and paced just right. Also, what I really enjoyed was the way it synthesized the original Gaslight and the various spin offs like Master of the Future, Countdown and Convergence and other milestone Batman stories into a cohesive whole. That familiar but different feeling is a hallmark of a good Elseworld story so it was great to see that here.

New Death of Superman animated trailer And they're doing it in two parts this time, so we'll get the return od Superman too which I always thought was better than the actual death. Doomsday, the previous adaptation, wasn't bad but I'm glad they're doing an extended take.

They dropped a trailer for Justice League Dark: Apokolips War .
It looks as though they are ending the New 52-inspired shared universe of DC Animated Films with this one.
