I can't think of an Avengers villain that actively annoys me. On the other hand, I'm not sure I can think of one I really give two hoots about.
"What do you think about apathy, Slam?" "Eh...I don't really care."

The bad guys such as Ultron, Kang and even Magneto they kept coming back to try to get back at the Avengers but they always lose. You just described every supervillain in the history of comics.

Count Nefaria. I liked him as a Mafia don, but the super-powered version is just silly. I dislike that version for the same reasons I dislike all the other Superman knockoffs Marvel has come up with over the years (e.g. Hyperion, Sentry): 1, I don't like the character they're drawing inspiration from, and 2, they're always used by writers to demonstrate how important it is to them that Superman is the greatest, most powerful superhero of all, so usually there's a scene with him defeating Thor or some other Marvel superhero usually seen as among the strongest in the MU.

Kang, hands down. Whether he's Rama-Tut, Immortus, Scarlet Centurion, or his usual self, dude bores the bejeezus out of me. One of the reasons I put together my Avengers Triumphant proposal was to see if I could write a Kang story I didn't hate. I'm not altogether sure I succeeded. Cei-U! Ultron is just as overused but at least he has that nasty Oedipus complex to keep him interesting! Wait, wait, wait - Avengers Triumphant proposal? Can we read this somewhere? i never read your Lash House novel because I'm just not that into the Legion, but I'd be all over an Avengers story by Cei-U.

You can read the script for what would've been Avengers Triumphant #1 in the Fan Fiction forum. As for Lash House, the Legion isn't so much as mentioned so I'm not sure what's holding you back. Cei-U! I summon the site map!

All the villains mentioned I love. From the Ultron to the Masters of evil to the Space phantom except for Kang. The concept of a villain that could keep coming back at you every 3 minutes just didn't make sense to me. Why would he ever lose?

I thought the point of souped-up Nefaria, and Hyperion, and Gladiator, and any other Clark impersonator, was to allow Marvel to have one of their heroes or teams beat Superman without actually beating Superman. They do eventually make the Supes clones look like fools that can be brought down with guile and wits. I think it's a nice playful jab at DC.

The Space Phantom was my favorite Villain in the early days of the Avengers ... Loki is one villain that always annoys me and was too darn popular and that's bothers me a lot.

I love the Space Phantom! He sort of reminds me of one of those weird obscure Batman villains from the first half of the Silver Age that are mostly silly but are enjoyable for being quaint, and you have to admire their moxie just for showing up at all with whatever dumb gimmick they got! I'm thinking of guys like Double X and Mr. Polka Dot and the Mirror Man.

So much talk about the Space Phantom and he only appeared in 2 stories in the first volume of the Avengers.

I've only recently begun reading classic Avengers (am up to #126). At this point, the only recurring villain I just don't get (I wouldn't even say he annoys me) is The Grim Reaper. He just doesn't seem worth the attention.

Yeah, Grim Reaper was a one trick pony. Always whining about revenge.

So much talk about the Space Phantom and he only appeared in 2 stories in the first volume of the Avengers. This is what helps make him so annoying. So he copies one body sending that person to limbo and if he copies another body that person jumps to limbo and the body in limbo suddenly reappears. How is this guy a threat? Now a whole planet of body snatchers is awesome but we only ever see or use the one Phantom ever. A one act pony with potential but never ever utilized properly....
