Number 66Orion From DC Comics I've discovered this Logo by accident here in this Forum and I've liked this logo very much indeed. It's a great logo that's really pops and the reason why is that both "O" in the logo is very nicely designed and very original and bold concept of using Stars inside them and the colors are pleasantly done just right on the nose and most of all - the blue background and red borders makes it an original indeed. While, searching through the internet looking at different logos - based on colors alone this logo is clearly a well designed logo that really "pops" and grabbed your attention to it. It's easily identifiable and that's makes it a clear winner in my book. It's takes much of the cover of all Comic Books and that's a Plus in my book and my book alone ... for a logo that has 5 letters or less it's a winner by a country mile. Whoever, created this logo did a great job on it and I find it very satisfactory to my approval; and finding this cover of Orion is a welcomed sight to see it and I've wanted to say thanks to the member who posted for me to see and I would never included it in the first place. Orion at Number 66!

I don't know about the colors, but I love the JLA logo there (from JLA #234) in terms of the design. Yeah, the Orion logo is kinda slick, but I'll still take the JLA logo.

For the record, I'm a Justice League Fan ... and I have seen every logo from Brave and the Bold #28 to Justice League International and when ... Number 32 rolls along it will be shared with six others logos - all ranked at #32 so - Seven Logos on one MegaPost that will arrive that day. Those 7 logos are my personal favorites and the dynamics that they brings. I've personally spent 3-4 hours looking at a ballpark of 300 plus JLA Logos and I found my top 7 logos that I'll be sharing all together when Number 32 hits this thread.

Number 65The Atom Hawkman From DC Comics I read a lot of these books when I was growing up and I consider the team up of The Atom and The Hawkman very unique and almost prefer this team-up when the Atom teams up with The Flash. A rarity seeing "the TITAN and the FURY" as a secondary aspect of the logo itself and the lettering style here is very bold, inspirational, and dynamic too. The word "The" done in opposite colors is a must see in this classic logo that I've find that touch one of the most positive things about it and it's gives the logo more class and dignity to it. For awhile ... I find that first dozen or so they added the word "And" and that alone did not bode to well for me and the logo lacked class because of the dullness of the word "Atom and "Hawkman" ... the Issue #41 was the turning point and from that on ... its became a favorite of mine and rightly so to be ranked at #65. The word "And" bothers me a lot and that's why I just don't care for it at all and that's one of the many issues that I have with it. I had a very difficult time placing this logo and I've keep on shuffling it and shuffling it until it's found a home at #65. I had it high at #54 and low at #73. So ... this logo at Number 65 as the rightful place for The Atom Hawkman book.

Number 64Hawkman From DC Comics One of the most distinctive logo on my list and a favorite of mine for years ... it's bold, perfect, and the font is excellent to look at and it's pleasing to the eye. I prefer the Red Version hands down as I selected here in my post. Yellow works for me too and so does White and even Purple ... this logo is universally adaptable for all your logo needs and that's why it's so good for me and works just fine with DC Comics. This is a no-brainer for me and I just loved this logo at Number 64. A picture is worth a thousand words ... I shared 4 covers ... they worth 4,000 words and having said that any color works and that's why I want to convey that thoughts to you in the most easy way possible.

Number 61, 62, and 63It was used in Showcase #4 and I wished that they used it more ... With or Without the "The" ... it's an endless classic and iconic indeed! You just can't mess with the original ... Flash From DC Comics Another multiple logos in one entry ... I've considered these logos represent this character well and I'm admitting that the top logo that I don't see much anywhere and I liked the bottom logos for all it's worth. Pretty Simple Logo and I've just loved the design of it and it's quite simple and it's invoke Super Speed and all that things that associated with the Flash. It's a classic and for all it's worth ... this logo is very simple to create and it's preaches motion and I love all these logos and nothing ever changed my mind about it. Creates Speeds and nothing more! I loved them all and fits the Character just perfectly.

I think how well the color works depends partly on the color of the background. For one thing, if the background is dark, I like to see a light colored logo, and if the background is light I like to see a darker colored logo, for some contrast.

Comments: Love all the Hawkman & Flash logos. The Atom & Hawkman logos were OK. I understand why DC combined the two titles in 1968 but it was such a weird combination. Did you know if there had not been a paper shortage back in WWII Hawkman was supposed to be the next one to get a solo title? Although there are theories that editorial infighting also prevented him from getting his solo Hawkman Quarterly. He alternated the cover with Flash for the whole run of Flash Comics. In fact he was the cover feature on the last issue (#104) in 1949:

Regarding the Atom and the Hawkman - I liked this paring and this partnership is rather unique one indeed and this is one way that gave the Atom and the Hawkman more exposure and that alone is a plus for these two Justice Leaguers. It was very popular in my area and I considered the friendship between these two characters is just as good as the Atom with the Flash. It's gave me another dynamic to look forward to.

I agree. It was just a strange pairing IMO back then but it worked. Marvel did something similar with Power Man & Iron Fist. Strange pairing but it worked.
As far as Hawkman Quarterly.... it would have changed DC's 40's. Would he be dropped from All Star & the JSA (back then if a hero had his own title then they became an honorary member)? That was one argument among editorial because they felt Hawkman was the "leader" of the JSA. Or would they have stopped that rule & Flash & GL would have been in more JSA stories? They were back by 1945.
Would Hawkman have a bigger push in the Silver Age like Flash & GL & been one of the founding members of the JLA?
I guess we will never know...

I guess we will never know... Regarding Hawkman, if he had a bigger push in the Silver Age like Flash & GL ... if he was a founding member of the JLA? ... I've don't think so and it's bothers me very greatly. I'm puzzled by that. Green Arrow and the Atom became members before Hawkman came on board ... So, your question remains unanswered.
