Aquaman from DC ComicsThis one is a simple and very elegance logo that incorporate Aquaman's colors quite nicely and it's an logo that makes you grab an Aquaman Comic Book based on it's simple design. I find it a great logo that uses the color going from a darker hue on top and work it's way down to a lighter hue that's makes it a great logo. You just can't go wrong with it. It is better than this Green with it's own symbol that was used later on. I've considered this one and having look at it again ... it's got rejected because of the symbol behind it and that's killed it. Atom from DC ComicsThis is my least known logo and I find it a fascination logo to look at and the boldness that makes you want to grab it. I love the dark/light contrasting colors on the left side and the letters on the left going to the right gets smaller as you see it. I just find it very unusual and totally cool one to look at. This one got killed because on simple error ... the word "The" ... and that's a no-no in my bookl

Black Goliath from Marvel Comics One of the coolest logos and unfortunately no room for it in the top 100; I loved it because it's placement of letters that makes it stands out and having said that ... it's makes its a very distinctive look. I like the two-tone of Yellow and Dark Blue background and that's alone makes it very sharp indeed! Loved this logo for all its worth! This one in this comic book doesn't do any justice for me and that's makes it a long logo and it's too generic looking too. I like the colors here but the letter placement that makes it not so good at all. I just don't care for it and sorry that I said that. Black Panther from Marvel ComicsIt's bold and powerful logo that I really find it an eye-catching look and one of my favorites and I had a hard time not putting this one in my top 100. The Black (Primary Color) and the Red (Secondary) makes it a hard logo not to put down in any Comic Book. It's really an eye-catching one and that makes it a winner in my book! This logo in this Comic Book is a NO-NO in my book and the reason for it ... is that ugly Red Circle with the word "THE" in it. I even wrote to Marvel Comics and suggested that they remove that Red Circle and that alone would had enhance the logo to a greater degree and make it more regal and more dynamic! ... They never wrote me back and probably threw my letter in the trash bin and that's kind of makes me sad. I wrote a short letter with good explanation and they continue to do so.

The second logo is the best for Black Widow IMO.

The second logo is the best for Black Widow IMO. Sent you a PM. Just read it. Thanks for the clarification.
BTW I love this thread. I always had a fascination with logos. In comics, TV & movies. Bands, etc.

Captain Britain from Marvel ComicsThis one is every sleek and this one incorporates the symbol of which it is a rare logo to have it. I know that I told some members here that this is going against my wishes but Marvel has done a terrific job with it. It's looks British and that the whole beauty behind it. The lettering (font-wise) is excellent and done just right! This one is ugly and reason for it ... too much Red! ... I always hated this logo! Captain Marvel from Marvel ComicsThis logo is pure lovely to look at and it's bold, colorful, loved the shading of going light to dark and the everything about it ... is gorgeous to look at and it's grabs you when you are looking for comics. Marvel Comics did an excellent job putting this logo together and one's of the best and I've feel frustrated that it is not in my top 100! Another butt ugly logo and I just don't understand why they did that yellow sun in the background that a grade school kid can do a better job than that. It's doesn't inspire buying it and that's for sure! I just can't stand looking at it.

I think both Adam Strange logos are pretty good. Not great, but not bad. I don't have a strong preference of one over the other. I like the first Ant-Man logo. The second one is meh. I like the first Aquaman logo more than the second one. The second one is growing on me a little as I look at it more, but I still like the first one more. I think both Atom logos are good, but for some reason, I like the first one more. Even though I'm not normally a fan of brown and orange, for some reason the color scream here pops more than the second one. I like the first Black Goliath and first Black Panther logos a bit better than the second ones, mainly just because the second ones seem very generic to me. Not bad, just kinda generic and boring. I think I like the first Black Widow logo more than the second, though I do like the fact that they worked the black widow spider's body marking onto the second logo, but I don't like that it's a separate symbol, not part of the Black Widow letters. I actually do like that one with the red crosshatch (target) and the black spider, though. The first Captain Britain logo is much better than the second. Why on earth would they add orange?? It should only include red, white, and blue. I'm somewhat ambivalent on the Captain Marvel logos. I like the colors on the first one, and it is a nice logo. However, I kinda like that sun (or whatever it is) on the second logo, though I do agree with MechaGodzilla that it could be done better.

Captain America's Battles from Marvel ComicsThis one doesn't have a comparison logo and if it's does ... I've just can't find it. The reason for this low on the totem pole is that this logo has too many letters and that's why I put this logo down and I just couldn't find a place for it. The real problem is that Marvel Comics didn't put much thoughts into this and they wanted to create one just for the heck of it. This is a cool logo from the standpoint for looking at it; but I've feel its too overpowering and no simplicity at all. That's why I just can't put it in the top 100. Captain Comet from DC ComicsI loved this logo and what's really brought this logo down to the dumpster is the fact is that Captain Comet's left arm is part of the logo. In my world, it's a no-no from my artistic standpoint and that's why this logo gets a grave injustice from me. I've have no love for a character by the name of Captain Comet and I don't know anything about him; but these two logos below me ... I've just saw them a week ago and I've liked the one on top better than one that I posted just a second ago and because of my familiarity of this character - the one on top can't be placed whatsoever. It's frustrating for me to deal with Captain Comet and that's why I can't do the same with the bottom one with the Silver. I don't know that's official or not? Its nerve-racking for me to think about it. Both of these logos can't be in the top 100 for the reasons that I've shared with you.

Are you just covering character logos, or are series names included as well? The evolutions of things like Action, Adventure, Detective, Tales of Suspense, House of Mystery, etc. are pretty interesting.

I've considered those that you've mentioned but most of them that you've mentioned and I'm sorry that I've racked my brains that I just have no place for most of them and I've had to stick with the characters that I've read the most. It's very frustrating to dismiss them and having said that ... I have to make the gut call to not include them ... In my top 100 only Action Comics made it.

The Defenders from Marvel ComicsI've always prefer the red and yellow version of this striking logo and it's pure and simple and its grabs your attention to it. This always been my favorite of that group. I've only read a handful of these issues and sad to say this this group never hold against the Justice League, X-Men, Fantastic Four, and the Avengers! This one in white lettering with a brick-red background the word "The" in the center - of which I considered not bold enough to warrants my attention. I like it for its modern approach and its uniqueness and that alone doesn't crack into the top 100. I've did not see much of this logo and that's a hard pill to swallow here. Sorry Members. Doctor Fate from DC ComicsI read a lot of Golden Age Doctor Fate in my late teens and early 20's and I'm shocked to put him here in the honorable mentions list of 50 logos. I loved the designed but the color of yellow here is too prominent with a touch of shading in black to complete it. All of these logos are really bad to the bone and the one in Red Lettering, the original doesn't do any justice, and the one with the 1st Issue in the 70's was very weird to consider and the worst logo of all time is the one that look like a compass that on in the upper 80's and I just can't consider any of them and there were so many of them - DC Comics keeps on re-inventing him and that's why his logo did not get into the top 100.
