Now looking back... I love the unedited Frank Miller's thoughts on Batman and how insane he is. And here is the manhater that is an Amazon. I love the way Gotham City is illustrated here by Jim Lee. And I guess Superman's words are just that, words. He didn't kill her after she killed Maxwell Lord on national TV.
Damn! I hope Frank and Jim hook up to finish this series... even with one final issue of the Goddamn Batman!

Thought on #5:
The first 1/3 of the issue focuses on Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern & Plastic Man as they meet to discuss how to handle Batman. Superman is written as a hot headed teen ager. Wonder Woman is written as an arrogant man hater, Plastic Man is a horny goof off. GL was the only one written half way decent. The dialog & their thoughts made me cringe. "Sperm bank"? Who talks like that? And that stupid kiss between Superman & WW after they argue. Who wrote this? A 12 year old? Then the second third was Batman with more stupid thoughts & cringe worthy dialog. Then the last 1/3 was Alfred thinking about the Wayne's in less than flattering thoughts. It painted the whole family as crazy.
This issue was just bad. No one in this universe is decent. They are all crazy in different ways. The art is beautiful. The writing is pure crap. I still can't believe I was still buying this. The long delays actually helped this series. I forgot about it until a new issue came out... so I kept forgetting to drop it.

But DC wouldn't do that to Frank Miller who at the time was super red hot with the movie 300 that just came out and then the V for Vendetta movie that came out the previous year. Batman Begins making the rounds... Frank was golden at the time this comic book series was coming out. He was on TV shows all over the place. No wonder even two editors didn't tell him to amend his work... he'd tell them to shove it. "I'm the Goddamn Frank Miller!"

It's a CRAZY (and every issue it's get CRAZIER) book and what all of you said here -- I can vouch for that.

This "Wonder Woman" issue elicited venomous jibes at Frank, because of his portrayal of Wonder Woman here. Wait until you get to read the "Green Lantern" issue. I loved the hilarity and insanity of that one.

I'm starting to think that these reviews might be more fun if I've actually read it. So I requested Volume One (#1 to #9) from the library.

Or, buy the Hardback instead ... it's a great investment for a real crazy Batman and Robin Story ... if you have ComicXology and or Kindle ... it's $5.99! ... I'm thinking Kindle and I'm getting a Kindle soon so that I can get it at that price. Hardback is under $10 at Amazon!

And this is why the comic books needs editors that has gonads to enforce them. But DC wouldn't do that to Frank Miller who at the time was super red hot with the movie 300 that just came out and then the V for Vendetta movie that came out the previous year. I think you mean Sin City not V for Vendetta.

#6. Sept 2007.The issue starts with a scene with Batman on the docks after he beat up some more thugs. Black Canary arrives... cut to Jim Gordon's home as he talks on the phone to Sarah about the "goddamn Batman". Meanwhile his wife shuffles around in her bathrobe drinking alcohol. And 16 yr old Barbara changes into a Batgirl costume in her bedroom. And Jimmy Olsen helps Vicki Vale "escape" from the hospital. Then back to the docks... Batman & Black Canary beat up crooks at oppsite ends of the docks until Batman hears gunfire & races to help Black Canary... Thoughts: This issue wasn't a bad issue compared to previous issues. Sure everyone is still pathetic. Gordon has an alcoholic wife and is talking on the phone with his "girlfriend" while his daughter who swears like a sailor is a Batman groupie. However Batman has managed to "inspire" people like Batgirl & Black Canary to help others although BC "plays Robin Hood" by stealing money from the criminals. And more cheesecake shots of BC & Vicki Vale. So again this issue was a mixed bag. Flawed but better than previous issues.

Number 6 -- Was more a normal Comic Book and I've didn't think that DC Comics did a tremendous disservice of making both Vickie Vale and Black Canary -- more a cheesecake than anything else and that alone kind of bother me a bit. The story was okay -- and nothing was really outstanding at all.
