thanks @strider
I'll have to look for that next time I am at a Target. $9.99 might be a bit pricey though.

I was hoping it would be comparable in price to the Wal-Mart ones, but since it's wholly new material, that sweetens it enough for me to take the plunge so long as I find it.

Struck out at the Target I went to. Of all the local ones though, it has the smallest Funko section, so it was to be expected. Did get all the #7s at Wal-Mart though. Not a total waste of a trip.

I've been having trouble getting Superman #7. I got the other three, but none of the Walmarts locally have Superman. I am not sure if speculators are snatching it up because of the controversy over the Tom King story in it, or if it is just distribution issues. At one of the Wal Marts, all the Justice League 7s were water damaged-they were delivered in the winter storm and probably sat in snow/water before being brought inthrough the cargo doors, and it's possible the bundles of Superman were too damaged to display and were never available for sale too.
I haven't been to Target yet to look for their 100 page giant.

New issues are out at Wal Mart including the 4 new #1s (Swamp Thing, Flash, Wonder Woman, Titans) and Batman and Superman #8.
I still haven't been able to track down a Superman #7 though. Anyone who has an extra they want to sell or trade, let me know.

From Bleeding Cool and other reports on the Internet: The 100 Page Giant DC Wal-Mart experiment has been cancelled. No reasons given. Reports do say that the 100 Page Giants will continue but becoming accessible "Everywhere".

From Bleeding Cool and other reports on the Internet: The 100 Page Giant DC Wal-Mart experiment has been cancelled. No reasons given. Reports do say that the 100 Page Giants will continue but becoming accessible "Everywhere". They aren't cancelled. Didio himself cleared up the misinformation this morning. The Wal Mart exclusivity is ending, but they will still be available at Wal Mart. They are expanding the line, adding more original content to the books, and making them available in both the mass market via Wal Mart (and possibly other retailers-say Target who carried the Primal Age book) as well as through comic shops. Didio this morning when asked about the 100 Page Giants... The retailer who started the rumors on Twitter misrepresented what he heard at Comics Pro and was one of the most vocal critics of the Wal Mart line and was butt hurt by DC selling something outside the direct market and had an axe to grind. -M

Good. It's kind of scummy that dealers were buying everything that Wal-Mart had and selling it at their stores at a markup.

You surprised me @mrp, I thought for sure you would argue for the right of the shopkeeper to gouge the customer.

You surprised me @mrp, I thought for sure you would argue for the right of the shopkeeper to gouge the customer. I have no problem with shopkeepers charging what the market will bear, but if you create artificial scarcity by buying up the supply just so you can charge a higher price, you are manipulating the market, scamming customers, and exploiting people, all the while undercutting the purpose of these books which is to make them accessible to casual readers and create new customers to expand your customer base and prolong the viability of your product in the marketplace. It's short sighted, greedy and manipulative of such scalpers and no one benefits in the long term, and the only person who benefits in the short term is the scalper and Wal Mart who sell more copies than they would have. I don't buy books scalped in such a manner, and more and more in recent years, I have started refusing to buy anything from sellers who engage in such practices. -M

I picked up most of the new #1's in a couple of different trips to Wal-Marts. Have read the Swamp Thing issue so far, which featured 2 new stories that were both very, very good.

I actually pre-ordered most of these through my lcs so will get them in a few weeks. I did pick up Superman #15 which was Wal Mart only and Villains United #1 which I didn't preorder. -M
