That Swamp Thing might be worth checking out.

I picked up most of the new #1's in a couple of different trips to Wal-Marts. Have read the Swamp Thing issue so far, which featured 2 new stories that were both very, very good. I collect Deadman appearances - Do you know if the Deadman in the Ghosts vol is new or a reprint? Thanks!

Some news on the DC 100-Page Giant front. In December/January Superman Giant #1 will have the creative team of writer Robert Venditti and artists Paul Pelletier and Andrew Hennessy. And it appears that we will be getting a Birds Of Prey Giant as well. Sadly, it looks like the DC War Giant has been cancelled alongside the Teen Titans Go Giant #2, with the promise to resolicit later.

Picked this up at Target today. It has 2 new stories and then reprints a couple issues of The Batman Adventures book. It does have a higher $9.99 price tag, but according to a little research, it's a Target exclusive.

DC has cancelled 5 of their 100-Page Giants and the new stories from those issues will be released digitally at some point. Makes me sad as these are the only print comics that I've been buying and had preordered them since I had such a hard time finding a decent copy of the recent Our Fighting Forces 100-Page Giant at Wal-Mart.

That's a real bummer. I liked those books. In fact, they were really the only current books I was buying.

Not just the Giants, but all their Dollar reprint and facsimile editions too.

Cancelled Facsimile Edition: Green Lantern #76 Facsimile Edition Man-Bat #1 Facsimile Edition Batman #321 Facsimile Edition Flash #135 Facsimile Edition
Cancelled Dollar Comics: Dollar Comics: Batman #13 (2013) Dollar Comics: Batman #450 Dollar Comics: Batman #663 Dollar Comics: Catwoman #1 (2002) Dollar Comics: Catwoman #1 (2011) Dollar Comics: Checkmate #1 (2006) Dollar Comics: Detective Comics #826 Dollar Comics: Green Lantern #1 (2011) Dollar Comics: Dark Nights: Metal #1 Dollar Comics: Green Lantern #29 (2008) Dollar Comics: Manhunter #1 (2004) Dollar Comics: Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E. #1 Dollar Comics: Wonder Woman #212 Dollar Comics: Wonder Woman #14 (2005) Dollar Comics: Wonder Woman #206 (1987) DC Classics: Justice League #50 Dollar Comics: Saga of the Swamp Thing #21 Dollar Comics: Legion of Super-Heroes #1 (1989)
It's almost a Pandemic Dc Implosion as lots of other cancellations are happening too. Half the Sandman Universe titles have been cancelled (Lucifer will combine the cancelled issues into an OGN, House of Whispers will be digital only releases.
The Manhunter revival mini by Marc Andreyko has been cancelled as well and it looks like there is more to come. They're not alone though, Marvel has been cancelling a bunch too and turning several into digital only to finish storylines as well.

The Giant line has officially been cancelld by DC and the deal for these with Walmart is done. They will be replaced at Walmart with 4 packs of recent back issues for $8.98...details hereThere will be 5 themed 4 packs-Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Justice League. They will be shrink-wrapped with 1 cover visible, but the contents of all of them have been revealed (see article). Seems like a giant step backwards to making comics accessible and giving casual readers value for their money, a complete reading experience and a reason to come back for more that the Giants did. Oh well, I guess I will be buying much less DC product between this, the cancellation of the Dollar reprints and facsimile editions and the cancellation of most of the Sandman Universe books. More money to spend on back issues, trades and vintage paperbacks I guess. -M

DC can bugger off for this, I have ZERO interest in a 4-pack.
It was good while it lasted, these 100pg books had some character.

I bought the Wonder Woman pack today for my girlfriend and her Wonder Woman collection but it was a sad state, as all the 100-Page Giants were already gone. That was the local Wal-Mart that always had copies of each issue and generally had back issues as well.

A couple local Walmarts still have a few of these 100-pagers laying around randomly.
And now some of the overstock is showing up at Ollie’s for $1.98 per.
