My current comic project requires my going through the Overstreet Guide item-by-item. Came across this tidbit today. Rock N' Roll Comics DC Dec-Jan 1956 ashcan, not sold on newstands, in house use only, no known sales DC really missed the boat in not launching this series. Afraid of bad reactions from parent groups? Couldn't find any further details on the internet except for this ebay listing for a matted print cover reproduction. The image is poor resolution Rock N'Roll Comics-DC 1956The ashcan's cover art was taken from Mr District Attorney #50, cover dated March - April 1956. The ebay listing for the ashcan cover reproduction says is has "great colors", but it's black and white.

From Sean Howe's twitter... Here is Don Thompson's review of Watchmen #1 from CBG> What is unique about this review is that Thompson is reviewing an advanced copy so his reaction is being formed before the comic itself was released and a body of critical response had been formed to influence the reaction of those reviewing. It is about as pure and unadulterated response to the book that you can get... -M Would it really have been called "The" Watchmen in the advance version?

Paging Crimebuster , stat! You have some explaining to do... Another example of how language has changed over the years. Back when ejaculate didn't have anything to do with sex.

I have been watching the new D.B. Cooper documentary on Netflix... and I had never heard the possible connection between the skyjacker's given name "Dan Cooper" and the French language Canadian comic, "Dan Cooper", leading some to believe he was actually Canadian, not American as has always been assumed.

A Canadian would be too polite to skyjack a plane.

I recently listened to a podcast that interviewed Tom Defalco and he stated that they were looking for a writer for the FF in the 90's because the newsstand sales in the FF were dropping. He eventually took it over with Paul Ryan doing the art but before they took it over , They asked various writers who all said no except for someone that previously wrote it. That person said he they would write it but under the condition that they could disavow All the stories that came after their run. Marvel refused that condition. Why do I think John Byrne was that person ?

Certainly wouldn't be Roy Thomas. He'd treat everything prior as gospel and spend many issues fixing and explaining the continuity

So I just found out that Brennan Lee Mulligan, DM for the streaming shows on Dimension 20 and Critical Role/Exandria Unlimited Calamity is the son of Elaine Lee, the writer of Starstruck with Michael Kaluta, and did a season of Dimension 20 liveplay sci-fi rpg based on the Starstruck comics.
-M
ps the video for the first episode is linked in the ttrpg thread if anyone is curious to check it out.
