Yes, I would read that. It sounds really cool. I saw one of the tweets just before I came over hear. I wonder if Dibujante is part of his name though. I know "dibujar" is Spanish for "to draw", so "dibujante" might be penciler.

Someone else on Twitter is claiming the marriage to Gwen Stacy was just a dream or hallucination and not part of an alternate timeline in which she lives.

This isn't the only Mexican series that did this. I know I've postedabout this before, but after Marvel stopped printing new Sgt. Fury issues - around this same time - the Mexican publisher just started making up their own new Sgt. Fury stories, and the series ran for many years longer. I think there may actually be more Mexican Sgt. Fury stories than original American ones. I have a couple issues and they are weird, and full of anachronistic femme fatales right out of the 1970's.

It's possible the quality was substandard and thus why Marvel has never tried to release them in a TPB or another format. I wonder who the writer for the Spider-man books was.

I remember these Mexican comics being discussed a while back, either here or back at the old CBR place. I think the deal was that the comic was weekly, so there were issues worth of original Mexican material inbetween the translations of the official U.S. Marvel comics. From what I remember though, although the new covers are kinda interesting, the original Mexican interior artwork and scripting is pretty terrible. I think I also remember someone back then saying that the wedding of Gwen Stacy and Peter Parker was a dream sequence, rather than the real deal, as spoon says. For my money, the idea of browsing these additional Mexican issues is interesting, but ultimately, they're "What if..." type tales. And I've never much been interested in stuff that wasn't standard, 616-universe Spider-Man. |

From a pure curiosity standpoint, sure, I'd read them if I had the chance (and if I understood Spanish, unless they were translated). They might not be canon, but it would be interesting to see what direction they decided to take the story after Gwen's non-death.

If they made the story of which Stacy Gwen was still living and all that and made it into TPD format ... I would read them of course.
